One she didn't recognize; tall, dark, edgy type who Mamoru pinned as a chunnibyou. And then it was Reina. ”Reina-chan! I didn't know you were going to be in my class!” Mamoru eagerly waved at the two during Arsenal’s class, missing a bit of his initial talk about the rules and safety stuff. That didn't matter too much to Mamoru though, because afterwards they went right to the practical stuff; the teacher lead the class to a huge training center/armory where they could practice using all sorts of tools and equipment. Mamoru was practically a little girl in a toy store. Mamoru went up to various display cases and looked at all the different tools and devices that could be used. Stuff from simple police batons to stun guns, even some high tech stuff that looked way too complex for Mamoru to guess what they do. Mamoru was excited to use the big guns off the bat, but most of them were restricted and needed teacher permission to use. ”Oh darn. Arsenal probably won't let me play with some of their crazier stuff until I've ‘earned it’ or something.” So Mamoru kept looking around until she found something that she could use; a pair of collapsible metal tonfas. Built for compact carrying while still retaining its durability, they were lightweight titanium-steel rods that could withstand up to two tons of force pressed against them, and were specifically built to resist and withstand blades. There was also an option to add an electroshock function to the business ends of the batons too. ”Hue, this looks like fun! And no permission lock either.” Mamoru requested one of the electroshock collapsible tonfa’s and kept looking around. She found that riot suppression rubber ball grenade she once saw in a movie (skip to 1:49), though of course Mamoru wasn't allowed to request one without teacher permission. ”So they're called Hornet Nests? Cool.” There was also some guns and such too but they also needed teacher permission. But one thing that caught Mamoru’s interest wasn't tools, but one of the training rooms. There was a target range and sparring area sure, but there was one more function these rooms served. There was a room with a few “villain” robots like what they fought back during the entrance exam, but this time there was options to make them tougher. More competent at fighting as well as armed, though of course they used rubber weapons and bullets. But this was just the sort of practical learning Mamoru loved the most. Mamoru was eager to give it a go. Just a practice run first of course, just one robot sparring partner set to level 1, the lowest level. Mamoru was able to defeat a level 1 bot at the entrance exam, but this time she also made it so that the robot was armed with rubber bullets. Again, at its lowest setting, but the robots they had fought didn't have any ranged weapons. Once the robot was ready Mamoru grabbed her tonfa and extended it. Instead of the “usual” way one holds the tonfa so it's parallel, Mamoru wielded hers like a club, using the handle as a crossguard. Then she manifested her shield and stepped into the training room. A mechanical female voice spoke over the speakers. “Training simulation will begin in thirty seconds. All non-combatants please leave the area. Training simulation will begin in thirty seconds. All non-combatants please leave the area. This is a Level 1 Training simulation against a single opponent armed with a low caliber firearm. Prepare yourselves, young heroes. You may now begin.”

Donny Yang
Class continued as the Connoisseur congratulated those who answered his question, though he also called out Jett, Mina, Roy, and Kaida for talking during class. Donny smiled a bit but was a bit sad himself. He wished he could be chatting with them too, though between his own awkwardness and the fact he was trying to pay attention to the class, he didn't want to get into trouble. He also noted Fumika coming in late and knocking things over as she clumsily got to her seat. This brought an awkward smile onto to Donny's face. ”She's silly.” It was then that the teacher went over the syllabus as well as other things about the class, such as the location of the pantry and refrigerator. Important stuff right there. Wasn't long until they had their first recipe: onigiri. Donny was slightly disappointed at how simple this was going to be, but then again this was a school for heroes, not some best-in-the-world culinary school. If they had to make something like, Beef Bourguignon, just on the first day of class, Donny would've have a hard time himself. So he got up and started looking for the things he'll need to start cooking. First he needed a workstation, which was easy enough to find. It had a clear space for preparing food, a sink to get water, and a oven/stove combo. First thing first: Donny needed to make rice. Normally he just used an electric rice cooker, but he didn't have one right now. Fortunately Donny knew how to use traditional wooden steamers. ”Thanks grandma.” Donny said quietly to himself. It wasn't hard for Donny to find a nice wooden rice steamer and an iron pot to heat the water one, one shaped to hold the steamer. It was a. It worn and burnt, but that was fine with Donny. Meant that it was used before, which tells Donny that this is reliable. Afterwards he got himself a big wooden spoon, a cutting board, and a bowl before he went to look for ingredients. Rice, of course, was needed. He was used to long grain jasmine rice instead of the usual short grain rice than a lot of the Japanese uses, however for onigiri Donny would have to use Japanese rice. Jasmine rice was too soft and not sticky enough to hold an onigiri together. Donny was pleasantly surprised that when he went to the pantry, not only was it HUGE, but it indeed did also have a variety of rice from Thai Jasmine he was used to, as well as the Japanese “sushi” rice. They even had some foreign brands of rice grains from Africa too, Donny never had those before. He made a mental note to give them a taste one day. For now however Donny needed to focus on the task at hand. Taking a heaping of Japanese rice, Donny also looked around the pantry for dried seaweed, or nori. Donny never really made a dish with nori before, though he remembers eating them with ramen. Good stuff. He found a couple sheets of nori and ate one just to taste test it. Crunchy and salty. Lastly he needed salt. Donny opted for sea salt, as he liked the tangy taste. Returning to his workstation Donny had all the basic ingredients to make onigiri. He figured he ought to start off simple and make sure he remembers how to do this right before he starts making anything more complex, at least when it came to filling. There was only one thing missing: his partner. Donny looked over to find Mina, but it looked like Jett was already working with her. He'd try to opt for a group of three, but there was still plenty of others to partner with too. ”Come on Donny Boy. Life isn't just going to give you everything you want. You gotta… Go get em.” Gulping Donny looked around for potential partners, ideally people he hasn't spoken to before. These were his classmates after all, not complete strangers. He needed to get to know them.”Hmm… Ah… S-S-Scusi.” Donny approached a rather short, plump girl. For some reason, she reminded Donny a lot of himself. ”D-D-Do you wanna be p-p-p-partners?” Donny gave the girl a wry, shy smile. This would be the first time he actually talked to a girl on his own initiative. He considers this a big step. [@Eggs]
