To start The beast is gargantuan, Ten meters from head to tail and almost Five meters from head to toe. Meter thick chitin armor cover most of the front and top of the creature, while it's bony frame hides under. It has four sets of arms. Two are large hands with sharp jagged claws while the other two forward hands are replaced with massive scything talons. Additionally a massive bio-cannon sticks up from it's back, while a smaller creature that seems to be the true face of the Dominatrix sits behind the cannon. A distinct smell can easily be sensed from almost a miles away as the creature's body oozes a thick mucus out from its frame. Possibly to Devour all on the array or continue on their last commanded objective.
Temperament:
While not friendly, Drok'ez is in a confusing position and will work with others to achieve its goal.
Affiliation:
Dominatrix Tyranid Swarm
Alignment:
Chaotic Neutral
Background:
The Hive Fleet known as Ragnarok was heading towards the last known Norn-Queen's hydra call of Hive Fleet Behemoth as it fell. The fleet was as fast any, slow moving. Shortly as they made their way to the Milky way, something happened. A Warp rift had taken the Fleet and ironically swallowed them whole. The majority of the fleet was teleported around the Milky way galaxy, but a small group of Tyranids were casted to the Ragnarok Array. There was less than a hundred Tyranid Biomorphs and only one large Synapse creature. The Dominatrix. Being separated from the Hive Mind and the Norn-Queen, the Dominatrix quickly moved to the the safety of shelter. Confused and with an unfamiliar disconnect form the Hive Mind, the Dominatrix was afraid. Yet it was not a wild Animal and it could remember it's life goal. To devour the Galaxy. Although it was released from the Hold of the Hive Mind, no longer it's slave. A sentient Creature in it's own right. A personality slowly developed, a name was formed, and then it's goals were set. Although there was a Problem... None of the life that this new land held could properly turned to suitable biomass for the Swarm. With almost all hope lost, the Dominatrix eventually stumbled on to the nodes of the Ragnarok. Using it's psychic Powers, it could demand suitable biomass to feed it's hunger and produce more Tyranids to consume this World or at least re establish connection to the Hive Mind.

Skills:
Military Leadership - Whilst within range of the Dominatrix's psychic aura, lesser Tyranid creatures become little more than an extension of the Dominatrix's will. As a result, a swarm under the Dominatrix's direct supervision functions with uncanny efficiency and a tactical genius that is beyond compare. Able to accurately direct her forces without needed to even be a part of the battle.

Self Synapse- With the Lose of the Hive Mind. Drok'ez can now project it's own goals within it's cortex and these act as psychic conduits at a long range communication for it's troops. Using larger synapse beasts to extend the range just as the Hive mind has one before.
Abilities:
Warp Field and Chitin - The Warp field is a three-dimensional photonic projection created by psychic energy that create a field of visual distortion around the Dominatrix. This distortion makes it extremely difficult to target it so protected by either using computer-assisted targeting or by eye, since the projection distorts both electronic and physical perception of the actual location of the Dominatrix. Even when it is hit the meter thick chitin plates that lay on top of the Beast. A series of carapace plates that exude a sticky resin-like substance which quickly harden and create additional self-healing layers of ablative armor that offers the Tyranid greater protection against incoming attacks Bio-Cannon - With the large Cannon on the Dominatrix's back, the Bio-Plasmic Cannon is able to unleash a vast ball of roaring energy, or several focused streams of death from its multiple barrels. Usually used as a siege weapon. Scything Talons and Claws - These long, razor-edged claws resembling fused talons made of Chitin and serrated bone-like substances. Each talon is powered by whipcord muscles to stab, slash, and eviscerate victims with lightning-fast swipes. Tyranid Regeneration - Used to repair the most destructive battle damage, including delicate tissues and bodily organs at an astonishing rate. Often scars are left, most notably in the head and neck which would be fatal to most other species. Spawning - With enough Biomass consumed, the Dominatrix can spawn a notable amount of smaller Tyranid Creatures or Spawn a single large Tyranid biomorph. Although it takes days to properly create the Spawning Sac and keeping the Dominatrix stationary. Making the Dominatrix unable to spawn them in battle. Still having synapse control, they followed the behemoth underground as it ran scared. As the Dominatrix began to form it's sentience, the Swarm began to devour all the life around their new home. Although most of it was regurgitated back as it was not suitable for the absorption of biomass. Spawned above his Warrior brothers as a Prime to directly lead the forces so the Dominatrix could focus on creating the Hive. Born with the usual Warrior Prime traits and due to it's increased intelligence and being a Synapse creature, it had also became sentient. While still extremely loyal to the Swarm, Rah has the power to make individual decisions and thoughts. Able to help the Dominatrix make choices eyes in battle, making quick changes in orders if needed, and even communicate with other species through psychic thoughts. Truly one of the first of his kind. It's battle prowess is noticeably greater than other Warrior broods due to it's intelligence and natural increased strength.

Skills:
Prime - Tyranid Warrior Primes serves as a powerful synapse creature for Tyranid swarms and is a potent commander of Tyranid attacks. The Tyranids' leadership caste is difficult for commanders to identify, and there is often the mistaken assumption that the larger a Tyranid creature is, the more important it is to the swarm. This is especially true for Tyranid Warrior Primes, an evolution of the standard Tyranid Warrior genus that has an elevated intelligence and a stronger synapse range.

Synapse - With the Lose of the Hive Mind Drok'Rah can now be a node and producer of it's Own and Drok'ez goals using it's cortex to allow long range communication with troops.
Abilities:
Chitin - A series of carapace plates that exude a sticky resin-like substance which quickly harden and create additional self-healing layers of ablative armor that offers the Tyranid greater protection against incoming attacks Venom Cannon - The Venom Cannon fires salvos of crystals formed of highly corrosive poison[2] and then coated in a metallic, venomous reside. They are launched with an electrostatic charge at tremendous velocities. A target, if not killed outright by the impact, will be shredded by the hailing shards of shattered crystal, or by the corrosive poison from the shattered crystals. They are also effective against vehicle armour, shattering within the bulkheads of a tank and killing the crew. Scything Talons - These long, razor-edged claws resembling fused talons made of Chitin and serrated bone-like substances. Each talon is powered by whipcord muscles to stab, slash, and eviscerate victims with lightning-fast swipes. Tyranid Regeneration - Used to repair the most destructive battle damage, including delicate tissues and bodily organs at an astonishing rate. The Nodes do produce the correct substance for creation.

Order of Battle: Skirmish- Currently the Swarm has it's numbers very limited. While able to make a few more dozen troops due to finding the Nodes, the strength is only that of 300. Most of them being the smaller weaker Tyranid troops, only a few leaders exist and no Monstrous creatures have been made yet.
Termagants serves as the standard infantry unit of any Tyranid swarm. Speed, agility and survival are the main characteristics of the Termagant bioform (Gauntii virago). These small xenos warriors most commonly carry the dreaded Fleshborer Biomorph, but have been known to carry other more potent weapon Biomorphs into battle. While not very effective in combat as a small group, they are most powerful when swarming in large broods across a target planet once the Great Devourer's invasion reaches its high tide.

Hormagaunt is one of the most dangerous Tyranid creatures in a Hive Fleet. Not because of their size or particular viciousness, but because they multiply out of control. They quickly reproduce and then rampage across the planet killing anything they find the Hive mind only needing them to point in the direction.

The Tyranid Warrior is one of the most common type of troops used by a Tyranid swarm. As Tyranids are constantly biologically adapting their forces to match their enemies' shifting strategies, Tyranid Warriors are often seen in combat in many different sub-species intended for different battlefield functions. Tyranid Warriors are among the most important Tyranid species deployed by a Hive Fleet in battle, as not only are they powerful and deadly creatures in their own right, but they also serve as Tyranid synapse creatures, the important species intended to direct lesser Tyranid species and forming the focal points of the Tyranid Hive Mind's system of telepathic command.

Few Tyranid creatures have earned such a terrible reputation or caused as much damage to the Imperium of Man as the Genestealer. Encountered long before the first tendrils of the Hive Fleets reached the galaxy, they were thought to be little more than another unusual and deadly xeno-form. It was only after the horrors of Hive Fleet Behemoth and Hive Fleet Leviathan that the Imperium came to realise their true purpose as highly advanced infiltrators for the Hive Mind of the most insidious kind. Hiding away on void ships and in the depths of Space Hulks, the Genestealer menace has travelled across the length and breadth of the Imperium, seeding themselves onto human worlds and subverting their populations. This perhaps is the greatest horror the Genestealers bring, as they can infect almost any lifeform with a "kiss," implanting some of their own genetic material into the host and taking complete control of its reproductive system. When the host gives birth to offspring, these carry with them the Genestealer's genes and over the course of several generations a new Genestealer is born, albeit with some genetic traits taken from its host: such as the human-like hands many Genestealer Hybrids encountered in the Imperium possess. Cunning and independent, Genestealers are also one of the few Tyranid bioforms that can exist away from the nurturing and controlling influence of the Hive Mind, using their own innate intelligence and brood telepathy to form tight-knit groups. These groups can survive for decades or even centuries on worlds, hiding their presence and infecting more and more of the population until the time to strike arrives, usually coinciding with the arrival of a Hive Fleet and the wholesale invasion and consumption of the world by the Great Devourer.

The Lictor is a specialized evolutionary development of the Tyranid Warrior, highly adapted to a role as a scout in the vanguard of any Tyranid swarm's advance. Lictors move ahead of the swarm, seeking out pockets of resistance to be eradicated and native life forms to be absorbed. Able to move swiftly and without sound through even the densest terrain, and concealed by a chameleonic carapace that renders it all but invisible to the naked eye, a Lictor can remain hidden until it chooses to strike. It can wait motionless for days, unnoticed by its victims, an unseen herald of approaching disaster.

Raveners are capable of burrowing under the ground for long distances and moving over all manner of terrain at alarming speeds. They have spade-like Scything Talons for digging, snake-like bodies for agile movement, and thorax-mounted biomorphs such as Devourers and Deathspitters.[1b] They also bear some resemblance to the Tyranid Warrior species.[

Gargoyles are vicious winged Tyranid bioforms that are often the first species of Tyranid swarms seen in battle. Their prime purpose seems to be seeking out the enemy and sowing terror and confusion among them. Thus, fire and the flap of the Gargoyles membranous wings precede the Tyranid hordes, driving the enemy out into the open to be absorbed by the swarm. Adding to the terror is the high-pitched scream emitted before they release a ball of bio-plasma from their mouth. Gargoyles physically resemble Termagants, as they are derived from the Gaunt genus of Tyranid bioform. They have wide, leathery wings, raking claws and barbed tails. Though they have six limbs, the lower pair have atrophied to little more than stumps.

Spore mines are grown and launched by Biovores. They grow deep inside a Biovore's body and are then launched via a powerful muscle spasm through the Biovore's dorsal aperture and hurled across the battlefield. An internal gas bladder in the spore mines inflates allowing them to drift down towards the ground, where they do not detonate upon impact but when they sense the proximity of a non-Tyranid lifeform. They have been known to drift for days, weeks or even years until an unwary foe comes too near. Alternatively, spore mines are also seeded onto worlds from orbit. Mucolid Spores are a type of Tyranid spore designed for air defense. Operating in clusters, they move swiftly through the air, exploding with lethal force once they close with their targets

Rippers are a small, maggot-like species of Tyranids that serve as the primary means of devouring bio-mass from a planet for a Tyranid Hive Fleet. Indeed, Ripper swarms facilitate the speed and scale that Tyranids are infamous for in the stripping of a planet of all of its natural resources. Rippers are the most numerous of the Tyranid creatures, and in great swarms they can pull down and consume creatures many times their own size.
Battle- These unit's have not been grown yet due to the lack of current Biomass available. Most the units in the Battle phase are bigger, more intelligent, but extremely specialized and much fewer in numbers.
The Cerebore is a large Tyranid organism equipped with sacs to transport smaller creatures into battle, similar to the roles fulfilled by the Haruspex. It is equipped with a hardened exoskeleton on its back for protection and multiple tentacles to fend off attackers

Venomthrope is a species of Tyranid dripping with poisons that floats across the battlefield via gas-filled bladders while emitting a lethal gas that will ultimately kill a world's indigenous life and ruin its soil and atmosphere beyond habitable levels until the world is only fit for consumption by the Hive Fleet. The Hive Mind uses this aspect of the Venomthrope by gathering them together in large numbers and unleashing them on a region to gradually poison it, making it harder for non-Tyranid life forms to continue the fight. They have scrawny bodies and many whip-like tentacles that are coated in poisons capable of causing death from a single touch. Its gas bladders are its primary form of attack, producing spore clouds of yellowish vapour containing phage organisms lethal to non-Tyranid life while providing cover to Tyranid creatures. Brief exposure causes nausea and spasms, while more than a minute results in infection that allows no escape for the victim from their organic tissue slowly breaking down.

Biovores are Tyranid creatures who are bred to launch Spore Mines towards the enemy. Along with Pyrovores, they are the Tyranid equivalent of other species' artillery. Biovores are sluggish, bloated creatures whose only task is to grow and launch Spore Mines towards the enemy.

Zoanthropes (Tyranicus animus-aborrens) are perhaps the strangest and most bizarre of the Tyranid's myriad breeds. They are powerful psykers, apparently engineered from harvested Eldar DNA to form living conduits for the focused power of the Tyranid Hive Mind. So extreme is their development that their atrophied bodies and bulbous heads are entirely energised by psychic force. They can shoot an extremely powerful Warp blast and rival the Eldar in their psychic prowess. They can move only by psychically levitating themselves, drifting across the battlefield to rain bolts of incandescent psychic power on the enemy or relay the Synapse commands of the Hive Mind to its lesser breeds. Zoanthropes are without a doubt one of the more effective psychic creatures among the Tyranids. Their primary means of defence is a Warp blast psychic power that can even kill the mighty Space Marines. Zoanthropes are a potent addition to a swarm of smaller Tyranid breeds as they have extended synaptic control and provide hard-hitting ranged psychic attacks. Despite their power, however, Zoanthropes sometimes seem to be victims of their own massive energy reserves and there have been numerous after action reports of Zoanthropes psychically “burning out” in battle. After hurling numerous psychic bolts or sustaining their shield for an extended period, their craniums have been observed to burst and bleed out, sending them crashing limply to the ground. Imperial Psykers who have witnessed these events liken it to the perils of the Warp which normal psykers can suffer when psychic energy overloads their minds. Psychic powers:: Warp Blast:A powerful psychic attack used by Zoanthropes, or sometimes Hive Tyrants, focusing the energy of the Hive Mind(The Dominatrix currently) until it arcs out as a blast of pure Warp energy. Shadow in the Warp:It is as if the Tyranids have blocked out the connection to the warp, making any psychic abilities very difficult to accomplish, affecting psychic races like the Eldar most heavily. It does however have the added benefit of keeping the denizens of the warp in the warp The Horror: Some Hive Tyrants, and sometimes Zoanthropes, emit a psychic aura that invades the minds of their enemies with a terrifying sentience so alien that all they can do is panic with fear. Warp Field: An invisible psychic shield constantly projected around a Zoanthrope to protect itself from enemy attacks. The field is usually invisible except for a slight shimmer when it activates to absorb or deflect incoming fire. Warp Lance: A psychic attack consisting of the Hive Mind's energy channeled through a Zoanthrope into a focused stream of Warp energy with enough power to punch through fortress walls or vaporizer a battle tank.

A Hive Guard is essentially a gun-beast, providing a durable, stable, and movable firing platform for the massive Impaler Cannon bonded to its forelimbs. Hive Guards are mildly telepathic, allowing them to "see" through the eyes of all other Tyranid organisms, effectively allowing them to shoot at a target without seeing it, by utilising an unconscious wealth of incoming tactical and targeting information. In addition they can also command, through a complicated series of mental stimuli, the shard-beasts bonded with the ammunition they fire, to change vector whilst in flight to successfully home in on targets. Their long Impaler Cannons fire bony spines, as long as a man is tall, at velocities high enough to rupture plasteel or battle tanks. At the base of each spine is a small shard-beast Tyranid creature, a parasite that feeds off the blood vessels of the spine. As the spine is fired, the shard-beast's own innards are torn from its body and it only has a few moments of life left to use its thin membranous fins to steer the spine towards its prey.[Some Hive Guards are known to grow a Shockcannon in the place of an Impaler Cannon. Hive Guards are exclusively territorial and have limited mental capacity, content to stay perfectly motionless and defend a structure. Though under the Hive Mind's influence, they can be driven away from their charges to the front lines, for example when a heavily mechanised foe needs to be dealt with. They have incredibly short incubation cycles and can be maintained as end-stage larvae almost indefinitely, meaning biomass does not have to be wasted on maintaining idle Hive Guard defenders but they can instead can be quickly spawned when the Hive Mind's rear is under attack.

The Haruspex is a ferocious Tyranid beast created by the Hive Mind to consume biomass at a sickening pace in the later stages of a planetary invasion by the Hive Fleets. It is possessed of a rapacious appetite, driven by the need to sate an infinite hunger. Few foes are foolish enough to stand before a feeding Haruspex, for it can devour an entire platoon of soldiers in a matter of moments, shovelling victim after victim into its three-jawed craw without ever slowing down, while also taking on vehicles and even fortifications without slowing down. Any morsel that proves too large to be swallowed in one gulp is seized with the Haruspex's gargantuan claws and ripped, crushed or battered apart with negligent ease. Buildings are smashed open, battle tanks torn asunder and the unfortunate prey sheltering inside hungrily devoured. A series of large, chimney-like spines on the back of the creature help to vent the excessive metabolic heat released as it so rapidly devours its foes. Only those that turn and flee have any hope of survival, and only then if they can avoid the Haruspex's grasping tongue as it lashes out to grab hold of its prey and drag it, kicking and screaming, into its vast maw.

The Tervigon is a massive Tyranid which serves as a living incubator capable of spawning Termagants. A Tervigon can carry dozens of Termagants in a dormant slumber kept beneath its lumpen carapace. When traveling through space, Tervigons do not go dormant like other Tyranid creatures but instead roam the Bio-ships acting as guards capable of yielding Termagants to delay any intruders whilst using their potent synaptic link to awaken other Tyranid creatures. If a Tervigon is killed its nearby young are inevitably also killed in a released symbiotic backlash. The Tervigon as possess basic psychic powers that is are used to help it's young. Psychic powers:: Onslaught: A psychic power that allows a Tervigon to seize control of the Bio-weapon symbiotes carried by its minions, guiding their fire whilst also relentlessly forcing the minions forward without being distracted by having to aim their weapons. Dominion: A psychic power that channels and amplifies the Synaptic will of the Hive Mind through a Tervigon to bring a greater number of lesser Tyranid organisms under its control. Catalyst: A psychic power projected by Tervigons to flood the systems of lesser Tyranid creatures under its command, pushing them with unnatural vitality to ignore the most grievous wounds.

A Trygon is a monstrous serpentine species of Tyranid capable of tunneling through just about any material - carving out underground tunnels that can be used by other Tyranid creatures to bypass enemy lines. For the enemies of a Trygon, an attack from below is incredibly hard to detect and even harder to defend against. The emergence of a Trygon will often herald a larger Tyranid attack as hordes of smaller creatures pour out after it using the freshly created tunnel. It appears that Trygons use their bio-static charge to assist with tunnelling, as their tunnels have been found coated with a fused, glass-like silicate layer on the inside. This effect stabilizes the tunnel walls and prevents them from collapsing behind a burrowing Trygon.

The Hive Crone is a species of flying Tyranid used to establish air superiority over worlds targeted by the Hive Mind. It is a creature perfectly adapted to aerial combat, able to wrestle enemy aircraft out of the skies. This is accomplished thanks to the living missiles known as Tentaclids which attach themselves to its wings. Once the skies have been cleared of hostile forces, Hive Crones will soften up ground targets with its Drool Cannon, splashing its prey in acidic digestive fluids. But even without these impressive weapons a Hive Crone is still deadly, as it is able to fly close enough to its quarry to tear them asunder with its bladed spurs on its underside. Before reaching a target planet, Hive Crones also protect Bio-Ships in space from enemy fleets. Here they fly along enemy vessels, ripping open their hulls to expose them to the cold vacuum.

A Tyrannofex has a massive cannon fused with its torso, the largest and most destructive Tyranid weapon carried by anything smaller than a Bio-Titan. The nature of the main cannon varies between Tyrannofexes. There are three known variations: Acid Spray - Capable of storing and spraying caustic digestive fluid to easily break down organic matter and even body-armour. Fleshborer Hive - A seething colony of vicious Fleshborer beetles that hatch thousands of fast maturing eggs which must be regularly expelled to prevent the Tyrannofex from bursting apart from within. Rupture Cannon - Launches two cannonballs in quick succession. The first is a bloated tick that bursts upon impact, showering the target in oil. The second is a hard, virtually impenetrable seedpod. The fluid from the first hit dissolves the shell of the second in a fraction of a second, causing a massive implosion of the target powerful enough to force armoured vehicles inside out. Along with its main cannon, a Tyrannofex also stocks anti-infantry weapons embedded in its carapace and breeding chambers in its thorax.

The Hierodule is a large Tyranid Bio-construct, around the size of an Imperial Super Heavy Tank. Like many Tyranid creatures the Hierodule seems to be a mutable breed, able to be created in different forms depending on the needs of the Hive Fleet. There have been two different forms of Hierodule observed my Imperial forces so far, namely the "Scythed" and the "Barbed" variants. The Scythed Hierodule is armed with four huge razor sharp claws, each capable of slicing through a battle tank, and heavily protected by chitin plates, in places up to 30 cm thick. A Hierodule is far larger than a Carnifex. As well as its claws, the Hierodule also bears a symbiote creature which appears to live in its back, growing out between the armour plates. This toxic creature helps defend its host from attack, squirting a jet of potent mutagenic acid against any enemy that gets too close. After losing Harmman's World to Hive Fleet Kraken, the Imperial forces reinforced the Moran System. The assault, by Hive Fleet Kraken, was soon manifested. While the Imperium had learned from its losses, the Tyranid had evolved. The Hierodule had evolved into the Barbed Hierodule with a powerful ranged attack. It was quite a shock to the Imperial forces when it appeared on Maxima Moran. The Barbed Hierodule replaces two of the Scythed Hierodule's claws with a pair of massive Barbed Strangler bio-cannons. Unlike the Scythed variant, it has no symbiotic acid spray but instead has thicker armour plates.[
Climax- In this Phase, Bio-titans take the field. Gargantuan sized beasts that are living machines of war. Being the forefront of any major assault. While they only seem to appear at the end of battles, it's truly the beginning of an actual attack by Hive Fleet Ragnarok.
the most commonly deployed strain of Tyranid Bio-Titan, the organic equivalent of the massive war engines often called Titans that are employed by the Imperium of Man and the other intelligent starfaring species of the Milky Way Galaxy. Hierophants are immense, hideous creatures, towering over any opponents and bristling with spines, tendrils and Tyranid symbiote weapons. They are amongst the largest Tyranid bioforms yet encountered by the Imperium amongst the teeming swarms of the Hive Fleets, comparable in size and power to an Imperial Titan. A brood of Hierophants are likely to be at the forefront of a major Tyranid planetary assault -- striding forward, drawing the enemy's heavy weapons fire away from the lesser Tyranid species, absorbing tremendous amounts of firepower before smashing into the enemy line with devastating force. The Hierophant is the Tyranid Hive Mind's largest bioform adapted for shock assault tactics, and it is armed with powerful Bio-Cannons, multiple claws and razor-sharp blades. The Hierophant is armoured with a thick chitinous hide that exudes poisonous spores from rends in the plates. As well as the claws and toxic spines which cover its body, the Hierophant is also armed with two Bio-Cannons. These symbiote weapons are triggered by a massive electro-chemical shock released by the host creature, which causes them to spew forth a hail of corrosive maggot-like organisms. These venomous and highly acidic creatures impact upon the target, splattering gobbets of bio-acid and poison that melt through Plasteel, Ferrocrete, flesh and bone in seconds, reducing the unfortunate victim to a steaming pile of bubbling goo. Besides its main weapons, the creature's vulnerable belly is protected by many spiny tendrils that lash out in all directions to entangle enemies which get too close. These so-called Lash Whips are also Tyranid symbiote creatures, living ropes of muscle and sinew which can entangle, bind and strangle as if with a will of their own. The Hierophant also has one last line of defence. From rends in its armour plates and body the Hierophant constantly exudes a cloud of highly toxic poisonous spores. These are lethal to all non-Tyranid creatures, forming a drifting vapor about the Hierophant that chokes and burns the lungs of anyone without the proper protection that is brave enough to get close to the monstrous Bio-Titan.

A Harridan (Avius terriblis), also known as the Brooding Mother, is the largest flying Tyranid bioform the Imperium of Man has yet encountered in its bitter war against that inter-galactic alien menace. Circling high above, soaring on the warm thermals of battle on its great outstretched leathery wings, the Harridan waits patiently before diving down over the battlefield, strafing its foes with bio-cannons or swooping low to rake a tank with its two massive claws, or snapping its massive fanged jaws around an infantryman. The Harridan's fearsome armament means it is capable of attacking just about any target, and the high-speed impact of its two main claws are capable of punching through just about any armour. Being a living creature and relying upon wings rather than jet engines, the Harridan cannot match an aircraft for straight line speed, but its lithe, twisting body is far more maneuverable, allowing it to twist and turn to avoid enemy fighters or ground fire. A Harridan lacks the speed to dogfight effectively with Imperial flyers, although Imperial pilots' after action reports tell tales of Harridans intercepting aircraft that fly too close, or of them sacrificing themselves in suicidal mid-air collisions that destroys both the aircraft and the Harridan. Harridans seem to act as brood mothers to smaller Gargoyles. A brood of as many as 20 Gargoyles can cling to the belly of the Harridan who acts as a “carrier” of sorts to transport the smaller Tyranid flyers, who, according to many experts, are incapable of long-distance flight. With a Gargoyle brood attached a Harridan's belly appears to constantly writhe with hideous clusters of scaly limbs and leather wings, writhing over the mother's skin and chitinous armour plates. As the Harridan soars over the battlefield the Gargoyles will detach themselves and flap off to attack the enemy. When Harridan's gather for a large attack, swarms of Gargoyles will usually darken the skies around them. The Dactylis hurls large Spore Mines for very long ranges. Their forelimbs are long and covered in tightly-corded tendon and muscle that makes a distinctive cracking sound when used to hurl its deadly payload. When initially encountered by the forces of the Imperium, the Dactylis was noted for using the bio-weapon known as a Bile Pod. This living ammunition is a parasitic creature which feeds off the toxins emitted by the poisonous glands of the Dactylis' cranium. In recent encounters, the Dactylis has shown the Tyranids' innate ability to adapt to any combat situation or tactical need -- its cranial glands have grown a variety of spore-generating colonies that can be used to produce a number of different types of deadly ammunition that can be chosen for their particular utility against specific classes of foe.
