Name: Evangeline Athanasia Katherine McDowell, Advent of Evil, Apostle of Calamity, Gospel of Darkness, Dark Evangel, Puppet Master, Maga Nosferatu, The Girl Queen of Darkness, The Visitation of Woes, The Disciple of Dark Tones, High Daylight Walker, Kitty, and Loli Grandma (don't call her that last one)
Gender: If "Girl Queen of Darkness" didn't give it away... she's definitely a girl.
Appearance: She might only be 4'3, but looks can be deceiving.
Personality: As all those ominous names might suggest, Evangeline has an attitude of an unrepentant villain, evil to the core and completely irredeemable... well, so she insists, even comparing herself to RPG bosses. The truth is that, although she's cynical and has a sadistic streak, she's actually one of the relatively good guys--though not prone to altruism, given where it got her in life. Mostly, she's quite happy to keep to herself and watch how things develop. If you don't mind dealing with someone that often acts her real age and embraces her sarcastic streak quite fervently, Evangeline isn't too bad to be around.
Brief History: Born sometime during the Hundred Years War, for the first nine years of her life, Evangeline lived about as good a life as most could hope--a member of the nobility, wealthy... and of course that all changed on her tenth birthday, as she was turned into a vampire. She found this out rather unpleasantly, since she woke up to find her entire family dead at, presumably, her hands. Her life as a vampire was off to a bad start and it only ended up getting worse once, somewhat altruistically, she killed some wizards who were controlling a town. This turned out to be a bad idea, since they had families and friends that wanted to seek revenge. Now, normally, a person would die and that would be the end of it--but Evangeline was too strong and they died as well. Cue more people and a growing reputation as an evil monster that nonetheless encouraged more people to seek her end, until eventually the entire magical community came to see her as a boogeyman of sorts. This apparently was no barrier to travelling the world, since she not only built a castle in Africa but travelled to Japan and learned Aikido from its creator. Then she managed to get a crush on completely the wrong person: not only one of the few people in the world that could put up a fight against her, he happened to be married anyway, and wasn't terribly into having this strange blonde following him around everywhere. In the end, a fight and some trickery allowed him to win... and seal Evangeline in, of all things, a school by using a curse meant to stop truancy. This would have been less problematic for her if the school didn't also have barriers against, say, vampires that lead to her generally having no more abilities than your average ten year old. Of course, the fact that the person who cursed her simply disappeared at one point meant she couldn't get out... ... until over fifteen years later his son arrived to be a teacher. After trying to drain him of blood to get out of the place, she somehow ended up becoming his master in order to teach him how to actually fight, and helped a lot of her classmates to do the same as well. Her involvement was generally indirect in his achievements, however, aside from the one situation involving a certain demon god. But at least she's free now... Only to have ended up in this world, which has so little magic (of her type) that she can't utilise anything more than a complete novice's spells. Fortunately, her vampire abilities are unrelated and simply tiring, so they are still at full strength due to the lack of an oppressive barrier.
Universe of Origin: Mahou Sensei Negima (also technically UQ Holder, but aside from some backstory details, that isn't relevant here)
Equipment: Evangeline has an iron fan and... that's about it. Really, this is quite inconvenient for her; at least if she can get her hands on a lot of wire she can start doing puppetry again.
Abilities: If the world had more magic, it would be quite easy for Evangeline to demonstrate why she has such a terrifying reputation. Not content with having mastered the ice and dark magic she has an affinity for, she's shown to have personal knowledge and an ability to use lightning and wind, or even create her own ice-and-lightning spells; quite likely, with her age and talents she could utilise almost any type of magic if she had a strong desire to. And where those spells aren't powerful enough, she made the dark art of Magia Erebea--essentially, absorbing your own spell for a strength boost, though nobody with a human soul can safely do this and remain human. Unfortunately for her, the rate at which she recharges is so pitifully low that there's almost no chance of being able to use the majority of these spells--she at least retains the ability to cast flight spells, not needing to rely on broomsticks or such fanciful things. The air makes quite a good seat for drinking whilst watching festivities. It's fortunate for the world that she doesn't have these, as even demon gods are trivial obstacles, and she devised a spell specifically to incapacitate enemies that are too difficult to harm magically. No, what Evangeline retains full access to is her lifetime of combat ability and the simple act of being a vampire. She might seem like a doll-like ten year old, but her speed and strength is inhuman--lending itself remarkably well to her default combat approach being simply brawling with a lot of experience. Those with equal abilities and weapons certainly have an advantage over her in melee, however, as her only weapon is still more suited to a battle of martial arts. Nor does being able to teleport through shadows particularly assist within a fight. The real ability, as a vampire, that allows her to fight without magic against someone properly armed is quite simple: there is essentially nothing, short of disintegrating her entirely, that will actually kill her. Wounds heal almost immediately and simply dissolving into bats and reforming can do it even faster--though both are tiring, to a vampire on her level (amusingly noted as true ancestor), it's not too problematic. Dismemberment is a more effective method of fighting her as she needs to go reattach the other body parts. And, well, she's got no magical barriers to toughen herself up nor the magic to do anything about most forms of imprisonment, so going for knocking her out or restricting Evangeline's movement is actually a remarkably efficient means of dealing with her. Inflicting lasting damage is just rather pointless.
Other: As her titles indicate, the sun doesn't do anything to her beyond the fact that she is naturally pale anyway and thus burns easily. On top of that, her other weaknesses seem to include an allergy to garlics and leek, and a total inability to swim despite her age. She can also regain magical energy via drinking blood, but the general population here is hardly any more effective than the world itself...
