I tried those v8 things, they're totally nasty. As for CA, it is very expensive but so worth it. I lived in LA for almost two years and I gotta say I FL in love with the city. It's the most wonderful place, in my opinion. I can't wait to move back there. 

The transition is going well actually thank you :) I have my rough days but for the most part I've never been happier.
