Hearing the Headmistress' announcement, Valerie made her way towards the room where they usually held orientation. Sure, she said they had an hour, but Valerie preferred that she get the first shot at sitting down and not have to fight the crowd for hallway space and seating. Despite the announcement that they'd have roommates this year, she had seemingly coasted by without getting saddled with one. It's not that she was particularly against sharing her space, but, well, if she was alone she'd be free to study without interruption and, more importantly, wouldn't have to risk upsetting someone she'd be stuck with for the year with a poorly thought-out sentence. It had happened before and Valerie was glad not revisit that mess.
