[@KoL]...There is no miles upon miles. The heat radius is just over 100 meters. That's 50 meters in each direction increasing by feet per minute around Zak. Not miles upon miles considering a mile is about 1600 meters. Then the Zak that shot into the ground created even more lava "for miles" downward I.E. the chasm which I did state was directly below Zak and Henry.
I haven't read everything of these replies yet, since I'm rather busy, but this is what I'd like to point:
The ground began to quake, trembling as magma and flames churned below the surface. Massive shifts in the landscape continued to rend across the graveyard. Buildings and gravestones sunk into the lake of molten rock, melting away as a fiery chasm slowly began to form at the heart of the battlefield. Miles of catacombs and cave systems directly below the battle between Henry and Zachariah had begun to collapse as the ancient foundations were filled with lava and melted away. The extra archangel swimming through the sea of fire as if it was water spawned several circles of runic symbols which trailed behind him along his path. He cut through the underground, traveling on tides of magma that bent to his will. Heavy stirring motion churned out of the circles and beings of fire began to form. Monstrous shapes swam beneath the coalescent wasteland, breaching the surface with large glowing talons as they slowly emerged. Titanic wings made of holy flames tore their way up from the scorching soil, displacing mounds of charred dirt and lava as they reached up into the sky. With a massive wing beat, a cyclone of sweltering winds swept over the land as the large winged beast of incandescent flames ripped out of the molten chasm in a massive explosion of debris and smoke.
I said that yesterday on this very thread. Do not deceive me or anyone else, with your flowery descriptions. If you write miles, it's miles that everyone is gonna imagine. Purple prose is good only up to a point, when it makes the text incomprehensible (which Zack has a very big tendency of doing, as I notice), it becomes a serious problem. The only guideline all of us have to understand what's happening inside of the story is what any of us write, so... being clear could save us from a lot of headaches like this in the future, right? How many times was it that I said this on this very thread... to various people? Ahh... I just can't count anymore. The hammer solves all problems, after all.
