Though in her early 30s, it's not hard to mistake Ainsley for a younger woman. If you listen close enough, or long enough, you can hear the hints of a Texas accent. Skillset: • From a childhood spent hunting and camping, Ainsley can handle herself relatively well with a pistol in the woods. • Having recently finished her residency in General Surgery at a Boston area hospital, Ainsley is a fully certified and trained medical doctor. History: Ainsley Evans regrets not taking a lower paying position in the Houston Medical Center. She'd be closer to family during the trauma and emergency of invasion, and more than anything, she would have avoided the drama that has enveloped her in Burlington, Vermont. But it was the hospital in Burlington that offered her by far the most, and so she took it, loving the idea of Vermont in the Spring and Fall. Back when her biggest non-occupational concerns were a cabin in the woods, and a giant cup of coffee. Of course, the Commies would have to complicate her life. Everyone's lives. The life of a General Surgeon at the UVM Medical Center in Burlington was a busy one before the invasion; rare was the open weekend Ainsley had to explore the beauty of her new home state. Mostly she worked, and she slept, before waking up at the sound of her OnPage app going bonkers to tell her it was time to start the next work day. When she could she went out with a few nurse friends to concerts, to restaurants, bars, whatever Burlington had that called itself the nightlife for the city. Born and raised in the suburbs of Dallas, Texas, Burlington wasn't exactly what she thought of when she thought of big city--but it's what she had. She could still do the camping, and hunting, and fishing she grew up with. It's just at this point in life, she was busier working and trying to survive not the wilds of Vermont but the wild adult dating scene she found herself in. She'd been dating a cop named Scott when the invasion came in truth. Their two month anniversary was the last time she'd ever see him. Being the Doctor turned girlfriend of a cop that got himself killed with the initial wave of Communists made Ainsley a popular choice for Burlington PD cops that weren't happy with the current state of things, beginning a chain of events that would eventually lead to Ainsley being noticed by the Resistance. After about a year of patching up Resistance aligned folk in secret, and helping to provide pharmaceutical resources. In her little off time, Ainsley now cared little for night life and dating scenes: she spent her free time in the woods, shooting, practicing. She even bought a large EMT pack, and spent months customizing both the pack and it's contents to fit the needs of a "country doctor" that made house calls in combat zones. That was her plan, at least, to eventually disappear from UVM's Medical Center in Burlington. Somehow some of the Burlington PD boys that she never really knew that well, and one she did know fairly well, had gotten promoted out of turning their loyalty to Communist masters, started asking about her to the other doctors and nurses of her hospital. She never really got nervous. Not until Derek Gordon, her long gone boyfriend's partner and once a friend of her's, showed up at her condo one day and demanded she come with him. On the way he laid it out: he couldn't prove it, but he knew she was helping the local people resisting the Commies. He didn't need to prove it, though, to tear her world apart. He could help her, though, if she was willing to stop being stubborn and naive. If she was willing to stop helping anyone under the table, and go out with him. The last bit burned the worst. Derek had always been sweet to her, but she figured always figured it was due to his partner. It wasn't until she realized he'd wanted her, too, that she started to wonder if Derek had something to do with Scott's disappearance. Now she sits uncuffed in a locked Burlington PD Interrogation Room, wanting only two things: to get out so she can fully join the Resistance, and to kill Derek Parks. Psychological Profile: Raised with God, guns, and the glory of America. The daughter of an engineer and a school teacher, Ainsley grew up in the thinking man's Bible Belt: as such she isn't exactly a radical or fanatic on any political level...although she is patriotic. After a decade of Med School and residency, there are times when the Doctor's God Complex comes out in Ainsley. When she feels as if she knows better, even if most those around her disagree. Usually it contains itself to the medical field, as she likes to keep her worst traits in check the best she can. Usually. She cares for others, and is typically pleasant natured and positive...with a heavy side dose of sarcasm. Equipment: • All weather hiking boots, jeans, various undershirts/shirts/sweaters topped with a black biker jacket with hooded sweatshirt underneath. • Sig Sauer P238 (.380) • Modified field medic pack.
