Flavor Text

Humanity's grief rested perpetually in the confines of conflict. Ambition sought petty prejudices as challenges to vast conceit each person felt entombed in. Letting much blood from torn skin or eviscerated vessels -- their primitive pursuit of answers led them in ritualistic sacrifices to appease forces they were not in control of. Deified entities mounted on pedestals of responsibility reclined comfortably on brass thrones of vacant rationale and wanton accommodations, but few were infinitely appeased as a God of war. Modern society now acknowledges combat as a force of nature, and the Olympian personification became synonymous with endless conflict. Our two combatants will pay him great homage by spilling the blood of their vanquish foe, for it not mattered whose blood ran -- provided that it's running.

Ares, Nubian, Oro, Kokou, Maher, Ogoun, Huitzilopochtli, Anann, Camulus, Chi You, Anhur, Bishomenton, and Winalagalis were all reputed to command divination over all essence of battle. None would be immortalized by the greatest altar of human history as Mars has claimed. Such as galaxies hurl scarlet flails of celestial bodies at each other -- planets and star systems alike consumed in a sea of radiating fire -- these deities competed for longevity in history's supremacy over the cosmos. These two warriors journeyed the perils of impeccable hardships will finally intersect here. Their parallel roads became perpendicular unto the full-circle that is Mars. This orange body orbited elliptically around the sun and carried about humanity's curiosity to inhabit its surface with lunar rovers and probes. It is believed that a civilization predating earth's more robust history existed on these planes. They believed pyramids on Mars, debris of skulls, anomalous figures, and even water banks littered its landscape; although a great many hovels discoveries have been identified, none were so significant as life itself. Mars contained life -- demonic life.

The Union Aerospace Corporation unearthed relics and multidimensional traveling technology when their facilities were savagely attacked. Mars' galactic company sustained heavy personnel loss from unremitting assaults by unknown entities native to the planet. Incidentally these phenomenons occurred simultaneous to UAC's technological discovery during their finalization. Creatures from an alternative reality wreaking havoc on the workers stationed there and suffering substantial casualties and millions in valuable goods pilfered or destroyed. A lone soldier remained from the attack and launched a counter-offensive of his own to push-back the alien forces threatening to touch base on Earth's surface using a stolen UAC transporter. His trail linked back to what appears to be an arena by design.

The architecture seemed very simplistic. In fact, it looked very simple -- dead simple. What once was pale algae festering on moisture from water to blood now supplanted by concrete and metal. Wide parameters of metal platforms stood roughly 8' and a half feet tall and no longer suffered negligence of discarded battle. Their purpose was to support weight of enormous proportion for aviated extraction. 14' 11" walls that were battered from old battles now revised. Metal sheets bolted into concrete supported heavy awning on flat industrial bars. The interior courtyard observed from the dark surrounding porch did little to hide the exterior's mystique. 14' 11" foot walls of concrete and metal harmoniously encapsulated these now vivid corridors. Upon a time these halls hymned emptiness now orate an ornate a mechanical orientation. A mill, machinery, splendor organized these paths in a pale vermilion aura caused by trenches of exposed lava. These pools of lava swirled with a strong radiation that recolored any that walked above into any variation of Vermilion corresponding with the saturation of their own original hues. These exposed and vacant chambers marinated beneath Mars now copper sky as this court serves a war driven peristyle arena.

The hellish spawn long removed but their lust for crimson life scarred these lands. In the epicenter of this revised courtyard lied a pink creature distilled on the facade of tan square. A parasitic being harped on an abandoned 5th and final elevated identical to the others but permanently suspended in a lift state. Though paralyzed, its hibernation expelled at a hint of violence and it has witnessed plenty thereafter and no other transmission of this sentiment is clear but its faint orange glow to any who behold it. The fighters who happened here are summoned by an erupt explosion sodden in emerald electricity. These warriors are interjected into this sudden stadium from a single explosion emitting foreign energies and these energies will subside as quickly as formed. They'll arrive in their corners look at the venue from the porch side and from this view will see their opponent, but fairly poorly as this porch interior was mildly dark. They only relied on what resources available to them that they came with, and their wit would be their only strength. Mars smiled happily on this lot with favor giving them stage in the ultimate arena of battle. His content lavished the height of the walls with an unstoppable gravitational force to prevent cowardly victims from fleeing for heaven's tainted embrace. These grounds were only suited for elites and this life force beckoned him when it seeped onto this hard surface. The best fighters had valor, skill, and fortitude to shed the hue of blood as Mars' bronze sky shined onto them and he spared no delight in savoring the fluid. All beneath the bronze heavens were slightly colored a tang of the color.. a very slight ambient overlay inside the courtyard and beyond.

When every confrontation expired then these walls would resonate a conscious. Computers located on the walls inside the atrium are programmed to pull the courtyard platforms down to exact floor level within a very short amount of time. The intention was simple, deadly simple even: No fight will hide from their foe given enough time as this peristyle battlefield is ripe with invincible cover -- confront your enemy. These grounds reverberated that whim of blood lust by locking every lever in place once they were lowered, which kept anyone from resurrecting those behemothesque podiums. Mars favored no coward and he enjoyed enemies staring into the eyes of their adversary with pain and fever alike. They will spill blood and he guaranteed they would not leave unharmed. His appetite for their nectar was superseded by a veracious instinct for murder and thus allowed only one artifact for these chosen warriors to abuse. A single medical supply entrapped in an unusual black box with a red cross and its contents were as ominous as its glowing appearance; for any person to so much as caress its form will adsorb all it contained and be invigorated. Their bodies restored to 100 percent health cured of all ailments and wounds no matter how petty. The recipient of such delight may do no more than bump it with any part of themselves to instantly receive its benefits; however, no impudent man shall be immortal and it will dissipate after its consumption for only in absolute defeat shall Mars become inebriated. The intoxicated aroma of control will award anyone brave enough to take advantage of such a generous prize. The caveat is that upon consumption the blessed is disarmed momentarily as unarmed combat is never a curse to Mars.

Now their destiny lay here. The ultimate warriors of their era would burst onto the corners of this peristyle structure in smokeless fire of jade plasma, far from each other, ready to fulfill a titan's hunger for war. Their anguish shall propagation here as spillings of folly and weakness alike. They will drench him their blood. ~ Mobius - TZDL2017 Finals

The Devil Makes Work For Idle Hands…

Too much time had been wasted waiting for a battle which never came, for too long he had soaked in the stale air of that Egyptian tomb; the insatiable itch to tear men limb from limb growing ever more consuming. Time dragged on and on, with Xavier's bloodlust shifting into a voice in the back of his mind screaming bloody murder; a longing embodied as the need to bathe in the blood of the innocent finally snapped his composure. With a bellow so fierce and strong it could be felt vibrating the crust of the earth, Xavier disappeared with a violent burst of red energy that left a crater almost a half mile wide in its wake. Time to kill.

It was an unknown world that would feel his unholy wrath; a village that under the blanket of night had found themselves under siege by creatures of almost demonic origin. They were at one point familiar to the townsfolk into which they sank their teeth and claws; they were the animals they had been tending to within their walls and the neighbors they had once called friends. There was but one stranger that took part in this massacre, a large ashen skinned man with onyx hair and glowing red eyes who marched up the main road; the monsters gathering upon his heels as he made for the Citadel. Xavier Bloodbayne, the visage of death and Chaos, had come to destroy all things these feeble men and women held dear to them.

“They have broken through the gate! Fall back to the cita-DECH

Standing atop a large hunk of rubble was a large, broad shouldered man who was decked out from head to toe in gleaming metallic armor; fresh dents and scratches littering it’s surface. From within the man’s helmet, the tattered remnants of fleshy limb protruded from his mouth; the bone snapped off into a pointed tip that dripped flesh blood as the guard fell to his knees and gripped helplessly at the flesh between his jaw.

Before the darkness took him, Xavier would stand before him and use the heel of his boots to slam the man’s body against the ground; a metallic crunch sounding off that was followed by a wet tearing noise as Xavier forced his heel through armor and flesh in one fell swoop. With a blood soaked smirk upon his face Xavier would raise his right hand to the air and point his index finger to the Citadel; his minions reacting to the unheard order in an instant as they began their charge.

As the creatures tore passed him in hopes of tasting flesh, Xaviers perception of time slowed to a crawl as he became aware of something tugging at his very essence, calling him elsewhere in the cosmos.

So, we begin once more. Xavier thought to himself as he allowed this strange tugging sensation to pull him away; the Diseased creatures he had been fighting alongside of falling in limp heaps on the ground as their energy was torn from them.

All of a sudden there was a deafening explosion followed by a blast of several small arcs of emerald green lightning and Xavier was gone; the sound of uproarious cheering from the remaining townsfolk echoing in his wake. They had been spared; for now.

Upon the surface of the Red Planet and within the sheltered confines of the Southwest Porch area of the arena, an explosion sounded off in almost perfect unison with its brethren across the stars. The soft green glow of the computer monitor in the wall intensified for a moment as the green lightning cascaded along the surface of the wall. Xavier now stood broad-shouldered and unflinching in the corner of the porch, staring out through the opening before him so as to analyze the Arena in which he found himself and the landscape of this planet. Something spoke to him as he mulled over the scenery; an evil presence, ancient and beaten, that spoke with only whispers of what had been. Stale as it was, it was an energy that still reeked of Chaotic design and conduct; the mere presence of it was enough to send a pleasured chill up Xavier’s spine. With every muscle that quaked as this shiver spread from head to toe, a massive surge of Dread Energy particles manifested from the pores of his skin; pouring into the air like sand. Millions upon millions of particles gathered around their master, swirling and quivering with excitement before spreading themselves to encompass the arena inside and out; obscuring ones vision after 40 feet and coating the air with a metallic taste comparable to straight copper.

This cloud was for the most part a uniform density, save a small mass of vibrating particles that had swarmed upon the parasitic mass that lay within the center of the arena. The same energy he felt upon the surface of the planet seemed to lie dormant within this strange creature. What secrets did it hold?

For the moment, Xavier would remain where he stood and let the cloud of energy he released be the only actions he took. He was more interested to see who it was that he would be paired against this time around. Hopefully this one would show their ugly mug.

Across the red planet came a whisper... A single word that could be heard as an echo throughout the ancient forgotten structures beneath the dusty surface. Within moments, the lifeless wasteland begins to stir. A ravenous hunger awakens from a long slumber yet again, still tasting its last feast. The blood stained corridors of a vast underground network gradually fill with the antagonized snarling and growls of otherworldly creatures beckoned forth from their subterranean lairs.

Back above ground, monoliths slowly rise up to meet the sky, casting their imposing visage upon the land. The monstrous sounds feed into the terraformed atmosphere with growing ferocity. Before long, the freakish denizens of the deep emerge from the abyss, pouring out of the towers and marching onward together, gathering into a sizable army.

Demons... Everywhere...

Hell's legion treaded along the dried clay underfoot, kicking up sand as they continued forth. Then for some reason, the fiends came to an abrupt halt, turning their attention skyward as silence fell upon the masses. The army stood at the ready as if waiting for something promised to them.

THEME: youtube.com/watch?v=Yt-BgS84CFk

Phasing into the dimension through a static portal, an armored dropship sporting the TZDL logo slipped through the cascade of dust clouds only to be met by the sight of countless monsters below. The pilots take to the radio to call for aid. Nothing but static. Before they can even think to turn back, the craft is suddenly assaulted by a mob of giant floating heads with one eye. Their large jaws opened wide to release a blast of strange energy which riddled the ship, denting armor and knocking the vessel around. Struggling to maintain control, the pilot ascended into the cloud bank only to have even more of the bastards latch on, dragging it back down into view. The cockpit was torn into, screams calling out as the two operators were devoured.

That was when a brilliant radiance surged, blue streaks of blinding light seeping through the damaged hull...

I'll shine this light for the world to see.

Igniting the air, azure flames came bursting outward from the implosion which ripped the spacecraft apart to reveal an intense pulsating light. Monsters averted their gaze from the inferno, clouds parting as the tremendous force being exerted swept up the floating demons, cracking bones and crushing organs. It was as if unleashing the primal fury of God, an unrelenting anger washing over the area as paranoia began to take hold of the horde.

The blue star then dropped down, plummeting to the ground below. Pulling back, the legion started to flee in that moment while others were left frozen, gripped by fear as they watched on. Hitting the surface, the light erupted into a massive explosion, shaking the earth. Countless monsters were caught in the blast radius, a bloody massacre as limbs and entrails decorated the scene, littering the battlefield with corpses. Standing at the epicenter was a lone figure, wreathed in the blue blaze. As the remaining army drew closer, a pair of brightly glowing ruby red eyes peered out from the shadows obscuring the stranger's face.

Reforming their ranks, the remaining army gathered together on the outer rim of the newly formed crater. Just as the first among them gave a shout to rally the others, the stranger seemingly vanished from his spot which erupted in an upheaval, a steel toed boot now firmly planted in the creature's mouth to silence it. Having launched himself like a ballista from where he once stood, he continued forward using the demon as a battering ram to plow through the crowd, dislocating its jaw from the sheer impact.

Eventually coming to a stop, the man kicked the dead monster off of himself, its brain having ruptured. Surrounded on all sides, the man stood unflinching with long, shimmering blue hair and casual black clothes. A sword resting loosely in his right hand burned with a myriad of colors, appearing to be almost alive. An orb of white light manifesting in his open left hand, fingers curled around the energy which was then reshaped, solidifying into metal taking the form of a saber.

"Shut the hell up... Fucking demons." His annoyed tone spoke to their ire. Unleashing a blood curdling roar, the horde rushed in filled with malice. Stepping backwards, his body spun about with blades lashing to either side, carving through one enemy after another. Cutting a swath through the masses, mounds of bodies were left in his wake. His mind slowing each frame in the moment, aware of every subtle detail in each movement around himself as he timed his own strikes with lethal precision. As one went to slash its claw at the back of his head, it failed to notice the eviscerating sword down below slicing clean through as he pivoted, twisting to the side to evade the beast and continue onto the next.

With a brief pause in action, Dias dropped to a knee while plunging the saber deep into the ground as it flared up from his touch. Without warning, a sudden quake took them by surprise as a wave of jagged rock came shooting up beneath the nearby enemies, puncturing the bodies of some while others were sent reeling from the blow. Meanwhile, the saber itself turned to glistening ash and vanished into nothingness, unable to withstand his power.

In the midst of mayhem, the man took to the skies as he launched himself above the masses seconds before a volley of demonic energy blasts struck the spot. The blood coating SoulLink seemed to practically evaporate without a trace, cleaning the blade before he took it with his mouth, holding it firmly between his lips. Both arms reached out, white orbs manifesting as he gripped tight to create six swords now, three in each hand. With a snap of his wrists, the blades were let loose, thrown as if playing a game of darts as they pierced the eyes of the last few surviving heads from earlier.

A glint of light could be seen, metal wires revealed to be laced around his fingers, attached to the six hilts. Flipping himself around, another burst of force saw him flying back down into the horde, dragging his new friends along for the ride. Landing, the giant heads crashed hard into the crowds. Then the blades began to resonate, turning red before going critical in a fierce series of explosions throughout the mobs which were sent into a state of panic.

Brandishing the SoulLink once more, his ears twitched just as a rocket came in and exploded, smoke billowing to obscure him. Standing at a far off distance to the west, overseeing the battlefield was a behemoth, most of its body replaced with cybernetics.

"Final Boss."

Exiting the smoke screen, Dias appeared unscathed as he dashed across the wasteland. Continuous bursts of force propelled him forward, flying past enemies that were struck along the way with a flash of his sword. A barrage of rockets started to blanket the desert in a dire attempt to halt his advance. Pushing through in defiance, the warrior kicked one nearby demon up into the air to take a rocket head on as he sprinted to the side, dodging several more.

Catching sparks, his sword began to crackle with electricity. With a quick swipe, a powerful bolt of lightning was released, taking the shape of a razor edge as it cleaved through the mechanical beast's weapon arm. The severed limb fell with a loud thud, wound cauterized by the extreme heat. Before it could recover from the shock, the SoulLink itself nailed the devil right between the eyes, knocking it backwards a few feet yet miraculously still standing. That was until Dias came in from above, the heel of his boot connecting with the hilt to hammer it in the rest of the way through the skull, toppling the titan finally.

Reclaiming his sword, he stood atop the corpse and turned back towards what was left of the abominations.

ARMIGER.

Suddenly, the space within a thirty yard radius around him started to become distorted. Using the SoulLink to project a constant stream of ether which permeated all physical matter, he established a sphere of influence around himself compromised of the raw imaginative energy. Reacting to his thoughts, an arsenal of diamond forged Greatswords were sculpted, designed with large fourteen inch broadsides and over seven feet long. Eight in total, the prismatic weapons could be seen hovering just above the ground to form a protective circle several feet around him.

Seconds just before he was about to resume the onslaught, a sort of dimensional manipulation took hold and instantly snatched the man from the region only to send him miles off to the east. Some kind of arena? Oh right, the tournament... He assumed that weird cyborg thing was his semi-finals opponent. Guess that was just the mini-boss.

Of course, Dias didn't have much of a reprieve as his senses registered a strange manner of energy quickly seeking to flood the confines. Thankfully his field was still active. Before any of the alien particles could breach the outer perimeter of the field, a blinding golden radiance abruptly appeared completely surrounding the distorted space within. The Dread Energy would be met by a repelling force as a light barrier had now formed, generating a protective ward fueled by the man's own unshakable resolve.

At least it would level the playing field a bit with the entire arena getting flooded with this stuff... His cursed eyes depicting the Nihilus Paradox transcended the material realm, the crimson gaze easily recognizing the outline of what appeared to be a Human standing on the opposite side. Must be the real Final Boss.

The Greatswords remained at the ready, acting as sentinels while he waited to see what his opponent's next move would be.

While his cloud was moving to overtake the arena, Xavier noticed a strange distortion in the air just beyond the center pedestal; emanating from the sheltered confines of the arena opposite him where a man now stood. There was a brief twinge of movement from Xavier’s right cheek and his red, glowing eyes widened slightly as he saw this; it seemed he wasn't going to be left wet and waiting this time around and it was all he could do to contain his excitement for the coming battle. It was a futile effort though, for once he finally deciphered who it was that stood across from him, with his blue hair and surrounded by a floating guard of monstrous crystalline weapons, a smirk stretched onto his face. When last he saw this man, they were sitting across from one another discussing this very tournament over a couple beers. Xavier was elated at the possibility of getting to tear apart someone even remotely close to him; his insatiable thirst for bloody battle usually left his social circle rather empty.

In direct response to this new found excitement, the cloud of Dread Energy could be seen picking up it’s pace in an attempt to swarm their new target; but it would seem that he had come prepared. Just as the Dread Particles passed over the strange creature in the center of the arena, a veritable explosion of golden light bathed the surrounding area in its warm embrace and Xavier could feel his energy cloud slam home against a wall of unnatural creation; wrapping around it in an attempt to force its way through this spherical abnormality. No doubt created by his opponent, the sphere encompassed the greater majority of the North Eastern corner and despite their fevered search, the particles could find no weakness through which to force themselves.

The smirk on Xavier’s face blinked out of existence as his brow furrowed into a tight glare; it was time to get serious and he quickly began sending mental commands to the rolling cloud of Dread Energy; focusing his attention on the particles that were closest to the strange wall. Those first few layers turned cannibalistic as hee made them absorb their brethren; increasing first their density and then their size in the blink of an eye. It was an almost unseen change in the composition of the cloud, but it would give the perimeter a much more physical presence Incase this strange energy started pressing forward. Not that Xavier was simply going to stand around and wait for that to happen.

Half a blink later, Xavier’s pectorals would be littered with a dozen tiny, red metallic lines only 1/16 of an inch wide and 3 inches long, all positioned vertically upon his skin. These were miniscule deposits of Dread Metal, a liquid form of Dread Energy infused with earthen elemental energies that allows Xavier to shift it to a metallic substance on a whim. While it may not look like much to some, Dread Metal is twice as strong as steel and needs only half the materials in order to replicate this strength. As an example, a 2 inch plate of Dread Metal has the same amount of material as 4 inch plate of steel and is twice as strong as said sheet steel. This is due largely to the fact that Xavier has total control over this material, from general movement down to changing the density of individual pieces.

These metallic lines had only just appeared upon Xavier’s chest when they suddenly vanished; flung from Xavier’s skin and given an incredible spin that caused them to stretch out to ¼ in thick circular discs that had 3 inch diameters and 15 hooked and pointed teeth on their edge. The air was briefly filled with a symphony of high pitched whistles as the they were fired forward; with no physical effort on Xavier’s part these weapons accelerated to bullet speed they were all headed towards Dias's upper body and face, set synchronized impact I’m just under 200 milliseconds. All in all, it would have been only 2 seconds between his energy being deflected and the release of his tiny saw blades. The main purpose of this attack was a poke at the shield that kept his energy back, as Xavier wanted to see whether it was only effective on his energy or if it was going to stretch to a physical deflection as well.

It is worth mentioning that since Dread Metal is comprised of Dread Energy, it retains the ability to reject any outside manipulation seeking to influence it’s composition or direction of flight; beyond that of a physical force slapping them out of the air or something similar.

This opponent gave off a familiar sense. Within his own mind, a single second became stretched out to greater length, watching as events unfolded. It gave him time to think on the matter and this precarious situation he found himself in. That odd feeling became like an itch at the back of his head, till suddenly it dawned on him. This must have been the stranger from the tavern that day. It would seem as though fate had conspired to bring the two against one another. Well then...best not to disappoint.

THEME: youtube.com/watch?v=GAEy-G7ZbLY&t

Upon closer inspection, the protective shield of golden radiance was generating a powerful forcefield, the repelling element that had been keeping the Dread Energy particles at bay. There wasn't any physical contact being made with the sphere of light, establishing a buffer zone between itself and all outside matter. The saw discs would demonstrate this perfectly, abruptly struck by an invisible force a few feet from the outer surface, acting as a wall to counter any physical attacks with ease. Their own kinetic energy would be reflected at the point of contact, added to the already overwhelming pressure that was being exerted and presumably sending them flying right back at Xavier with even greater velocity.

It proved as an efficient defensive measure during the Omniverse Wars where the man would find himself caught in an ambush, taking heavy fire and artillery rounds from all sides by the enemy.

However, this was assuming that Xavier's projectiles would even manage to cross the distance with there being no direct line of sight between them, what with all the obstacles in the way.

Of course, the only downside was that this also applied to Dias as well. Most of his own attacks would likewise be unable to penetrate the EXCALIBUR's barrier, a double edged sword. (No pun intended) But that wasn't where his mind was at right now. It was rare to end up facing off against an opponent such as this. This Xavier was truly a dangerous man, not to be underestimated. It was entirely possible that he might even be indestructible, similar to a select few other opponents he had crossed paths with in the past. Time to test that theory...

Before the saws were even let loose, five out of the eight Greatswords had begun to pulsate, giving off a unique pattern. One started to glow blue while another turned bright red. Green. Yellow. White. The prismatic weapons became a catalyst, each containing one of the five Prime Elements of Narria. The several remaining sentinels took up their positions around the man, reacting to any and all external threats to intercept anything that might miraculously find a way through the barrier. Meanwhile, his left hand raised, the five swords responding to his gesture as they moved to line-up in front of him. Muscles tensing, the diamond blades tilted back, the razor sharp tips aimed directly at Xavier, assuming his opponent could see past the blinding ward.

Starting to spin in place, they began a simultaneous circular rotation in the air, suddenly giving off a low frequency hum as vibrations surged through their molecules. Arcs of electricity then lashed out in the space between them, the bolts growing more violent as they picked up speed. The mysterious markings depicted in his iris shifted, cellular structure reworking itself to reveal new lines to complete the obscured meaning. Fingers strained, slowly curling into a fist as the elements were infused with one another.

Taking a step to the right, the ARMIGER's distorted field moved with him along with the intense blaze of the surrounding force barrier. The local gathering of Dread Energy would no doubt feel the immense pressure being pressed against it, attempting to aggressively push it back and crushing whatever refused to move out of the way.

Surprisingly, the arena appeared to be completely unaffected by the EXCALIBUR's presence, as if completely invulnerable. (Teh Hax, yo. Someone be using Game Genie on this place, fo realz)

The trajectory of the saw blades was only partially reliant on Xavier's ability to see Dias; Xavier had seen him just before the light filled the area and the blades were seeking him out based upon that last known location. At any rate, the main goal of this first attack was to test the physical blocking capabilities of the radiant light, if any were present at all. Had the need for it come up, Xavier could have redirected them to curve around most of the obstacles, but as it was they collided with the unseen wall; showing Xavier that his initial assumption about the light was correct, but it also relayed some new information about the shield. In the center of the arena, the particles of Dread Energy began to quiver as a series of high pitched ring filled the airways as a brief shower of red sparks filled the air. It would seem there was a miscalculation on Xavier's part as the dozen saw blades he created had collided with the pillar standing there. How could be so foolish!? The pillar stood pristine in the wake of the metallic onslaught; a number of fine metallic red shavings floating unnaturally near the impact zone.

Via a series of split second mental commands, Xavier was quickly able to regain control over the flight patterns of the saw blades, curve them back around in the air and then fire them once more at the shield to complete his test. Their timing had become more exact and their grouping tighter then before as Xavier took in-depth control of each blade to ensure impact; perhaps a shared impact zone could increase the chances of his blades passing through,
All at once the saw blades had their momentum removed, reversed and revitalized two fold to fire back at him; a miniscule twitch showing the shadow of a smirk as the information was relayed back to their master. A dozen sonic booms would sound off in the wake of the blades being returned to Xavier; his mind branching out to each of them in one moment so as to curve their paths around his body almost entirely

Each blade was only two inches shy of clearing Xaviers skin when they passed by him; tearing open the flesh of his shoulders and lower abdomen so as to steal more metal from within. The form of the blades started to shrink and fatten the instant after they passed through Xavier, shifting from saw blades into formless metallic mounds roughly one and a half inches in diameter as they flew towards the walls behind him. By aid of their newfound speed, the mounds underwent a myriad of meticulously calculated ricochet’s off of the walls, floor and ceiling of the deck where Xavier stood. In a wink, twelve 1.5 inch mounds became a single 18 inch metallic ball that released a symphony of dull thuds as it bounded from wall to wall before firing itself out of the opening at around 1300mph; aiming to slam it back against the shield less than a second after the first impact. It was around the size of a basketball, but it would be hitting with the force of a wrecking ball swung at the same speed.
:'(

During this small portion of time, Xavier was feeding off of the dormant chaotic energies present in the world so as to maintain a constant stream of Dread Energy into the world. With a simple command, more of the particles near the shield began to shift their size and density while beginning to compress against the shield that was preventing their advance. It would be no easy feat to crush the particles that were holding their ground against it; the larger particles up front were protecting the smallest ones in the back which were all pushing upon eachother to exert force upon the large particles. All in an effort to force themselves through the empty space infront of the light that was rejecting them. One could, in theory , shove them around provided an equal amount of force is being applied, but the destruction of Dread Energy would not come so easily.

The instant Dias moved to his right, Xavier could feel the shield moving and deduced that it could only mean that it’s owner was moving as well. More interested in studying the anomaly, he would allow his energy to be briefly muscled around by the opposing energy. After all, there was undoubtedly more important things brewing within that shield, and though Xavier could feel the man’s light foot steps as they touched the ground he could not see the details of what had just happened. But it wasn’t likely that his opponent would be sitting idly by awaiting the inevitable break through.

Muscles on both Xavier’s arms could be seen tensing so intensely that it seemed that they would tear through the flesh that covered them. A 5 foot radius of Dread Energy surrounding Xavier would sudden lurch through the air to converge upon his arms from shoulder to fist; coating the entirety of the flesh in a thick layer of Dread Energy as he awaited an opening.

Ruling
  • An investigation into this fight has determined that the five primary elements of Narria was not in the profile sheet; however, we inquired about it and the elemental composition of said elements were generic fantasy elements as the name of such channel of power is flavor text.
  • Dias and Xavier were both informed that adherence to their profile sheets is mandatory. This ties to the prior Five Elements of Narria inquiry in which flavor text needs clarification as ambiguity in our tournament is prohibited.
  • Dias Blade will not be able to see his opponent from behind the obstruction since Ether may be shrouded by Xavier's dread particles in which he is made up of. He might appear as a cloud or mist.
  • Dias will not be able to perceive the telegraph if Xavier's disc even if he could see a silhouette as the lines on Xavier are detail of his anatomy. There will be no visual indication of that detail from such silhouette.
  • Xaiver originally launched his saw blades towards his opponent with no indication of trajectory. Though Xaiver can control them they did not have any homing or curvature in their path prior to Dias' defense. This means these disc will only operate in one direction regardless of Dias positioning which hasn't changed, and cannot be redirected upon meeting the obstruction suddenly with any pseudo-homing behavior as this will technically be a Retro-Active ability.
  • Since the saw-disc cannot retroactively redirect then they do not meet Dias' Armiger and are stopped by the block between their line of sight.
  • The Armiger defense which rebound the disc does not occur.
  • The timing of Dias' Narria Elemental channeling is in question. His character would wait and see previously but then upon actions his character decided, before the initiation of Xavier's attack, setup for his own. He did not violate a rule of priority as Xavier was not interrupted before his first attack nor did Dias attacked before him.

Verdict The Dread Metal Saw Disc will be blocked by the stage's center piece and the fight resumes. Xavier you are issued an EOD and Dias was already told next time to be more indicative of his abilities in the Dispute Channel. Since Dias cannot perceive Xavier's outline then the timing of his Narria Elemental buildup is mistimed and will occur concurrent of Xavier since his character will not be given any visible indication; otherwise, the fight will proceed as Normal. Dias may post when ready only after Xavier fulfills his EOD. Dias and Xavier please be more attentive to your profile sheets.

The Five primary elements of Narria are

Fire
Water
Earth
Air
Light.

Light itself cannot have more properties than what we would default as anything beyond its typical behavior would have required it to be itemized in the profile sheet. Fight Resumes.

THEME:

Ears twitched at the sound, the saw discs striking the central pillar. Perhaps his opponent's vision was equally just as obscured? Even with his special eyes, Dias could only make out the congregation of alien matter creating a forty foot radius sphere around his opponent. At least they made no attempt to hide the strange individual's presence beyond that. His projected Aura was easily able to detect his foe standing over on the opposite side of the arena. Despite what the Narrian was building up to, the man continued to stay where he was. The force barrier served two purposes here, the first being to stave off the encroaching Dread Energy particles as a much more imminent threat. The second was to potentially blind his adversary with the radiant light being generated around the enclosed space.

Of course, Dias found himself in a similar situation the instant that those very same particles seemingly came together to form a sort of wall surrounding his field. At that point, it became impossible for his eyes to make out anything beyond the shield, leaving him to rely upon his other senses. He noticed the slight resistance against the barrier immediately, having only taken that one step to test the waters. It seemed as though his movement wasn't all that restricted with how easily it proved to push the Dread Energy aside, though that alone felt rather suspicious considering the circumstances.

When he was first dropped into the fight after being forcibly teleported from the battlefield, there had been plenty of time to get a good layout of the arena which he had committed to memory. The various obstacles between himself and Xavier left no real line of sight. Direct ranged attacks from their starting positions would end up like the man's first attempt. Before the second try was launched, Dias raised the SoulLink and inserted the sword into the open space presented by the spinning weapons. The five Greatswords acted as a host for the Prime Elements; Fire, Water, Earth, Air and Light. Resonating in tandem with one another, the SoulLink drew upon each, creating cohesion as a mass of turbulent energy manifested within the chamber.

At the instant Xavier's second try with the saw blades made contact, they were promptly met with the same outcome had they managed to hit last time. But the strike itself created an opportunity as Dias immediately reacted by jumping up and further to the right just enough, setting himself up with a direct line of sight to where his opponent had continued standing wide open. Instead of moving with him, the field of Ether remained stationary along with his barrier, being tactfully used as cover to mask his intentions.

Taking aim with the sword as the five weapons were still circling around it, the charged mass of unrelenting energy was suddenly released. A literal beam of purely destructive power, five feet in diameter and moving at the speed of light one third the speed of light, punched clean through Dias' barrier like it was nothing. The blast capable of instantly disintegrating any physical matter caught in its path, it would hopefully decimate the Dread Energy along with Xavier in a single blow. (ala Gohan vs. Cell, only not as drawn out or dramatic.)

It was the perfect way to test his previous hypothesis on whether or not these mysterious particles were actually indestructible. At the exact moment the beam would finish, the opening it created in his shield would instantly restore itself on the off chance the attack didn't somehow miraculously work... The five Greatswords that were used would also likewise shatter to pieces and dissolve into dust, only good for the one shot.

As the saw blades came into contact with the radiant barrier, they were sent screaming through the air; followed soon after by a dozen booms that sounded off in almost perfect unison as they were rocketed to over 1500 mph (twice average bullet speed). With the shockwaves still crawling through the air, the flight plan of the blades began to change as they began receiving commands from their master that would draw them back towards him with each ricochet that happened thereafter. With unparalleled synchronization the blades screamed passed their master and began instantly ricocheting off of walls of the enclosed space in which he still stood. In just a half second, the blades ricocheted an innumerable amount of times and covered Xavier in over 100 cuts as each blade dug into his flesh at least 10 times; picking up a fresh supply of metal with each pass and 'slowly' changing their form from blades to balls. The blades had just been given their command, to merge their forms into one sphere with a 7 in radius, when Dias would have been finishing his aerial maneuver; unbeknownst to Xavier.

All at once, Xavier’s mind was filled with a volley of information as Dias released his attack; the first being incredible power surge pinging off of the Dread Particles nearest the radiant sphere as it was created. Then, for but an instant, the force that repelled the particles from entering the barrier suddenly lessened, before the beam tore through the barrier and smacked into the thick particles that made up the front lines of the cloud. It was here that the thickest, most durable of the Dread Particles resided; but in the end even they would prove to be no match for the massive power that was thrust against them. Fueled by the very same indomitable will that prevented the Chaos God Mitsurashi from overpowering Dread Energy; the particles would stand against the beam for only a fraction of a second. At which point the physical form the particles had come together to create was torn asunder; scattering a small percentile of the remaining particles into the air around it while the greater majority simply ceased to be. However, before their 'death' they relayed crucial details about the impending attack; such as its size, angle of approach and a rough measure of the amount of destructive energy being thrown at him. It was impressive, to say the least.

As the beam tore through the air beyond the barrier, it was able to make relatively easy work of the Dread Energy through which it streaked; the particles resisting against it as best they could in an effort to give their master even slivers of time before the beam would strike. They needed only for their information to reach him first; not only ahead of the beam, but also what his eyes alone could tell him at such immense speeds.

Contact.

Before his eyes could register the flash of light bursting from the barrier, Xavier’s brain was firing off signals to his various limbs and they responded as fast as they possibly could; but not fast enough. The beam slammed home against Xavier in a light show of white and crimson as the two energies fought against each other; the destructive beam split in twine at the impact point of an object that refused to be destroyed. It was due in large to his skin that Xavier was able to withstand the immense energy sweeping over him; it was specifically designed to protect Xavier from any energy based attacks and no matter how destructive the energy beam was, it was energy nonetheless.

No more than a quarter second after the beam was split in two, the stream of information from the Dread Particles would have sunk in and it became clear that this wasn't something he would want to be caught in the middle of for very long. Almost instantly after this realization, around 3/4 seconds after beam impact, Xavier's mind began firing off a steady stream of commands to his various limbs and his energy deposit; quick muscular spasms firing off all throughout his body as his right foot was briefly thrust against the ground with incredible pressure as he lifted and began pulling the left side of himself out of harms way. At the same time, his right arm visibly tensed once again as the energy coating both arms, was absorbed and added to a fresh supply within him. This quick and graceful motion was only possible due to his enhanced neural pathways which are responsible for carrying mental commands throughout the body; Xavier can start moving much sooner and faster than most who do not possess these enhancements.

Around 2 seconds had passed when this maneuver finally dragged the greater portion of Xavier’s body from the torrential energy beam, and it could be seen that his flesh was not standing up as well as he may have hoped. As his left arm was exposed, it looked as though someone had taken a blow torch to a wax figurine; pockets of melted skin leading into sections of blackened streaks. It only got worse as the rest of his body was dragged out, the flesh appearing ribbon like and stringy until it was just black ash; falling painfully slow through the air as his body continued sideways. Xavier’s face and the right portion of his body still remained within the blast, but at the speed with which his body pushed through the beam,it wouldn’t be long before he was free of it and behind the cover on his left. At this point, approximately two and a half seconds have passed since the blast has hit.

To run from the blast and hide were not the only steps of his plan; the blades had carried out his command and merged together to create one massive metallic ball. This veritable cannon ball, which had over 4 times the density of a steel ball it’s size, was one a recipient of the slew of mental commands that Xavier had released; rocketing through the air over his right shoulder at the same break neck speed as before, so as to dive 'head' first into the destructive beam. As soon as contact was made with the beam, the metallic ball began to lose mass at an alarming rate; like dropping a dense ball of dirt into a puddle, the metallic ball simply lost its structure before being reduced to nothing. This surprised Xavier, but he continued through with the intended quick punch that would release the torrent of Dread Energy. The Dread Energy fought hard, tearing through a vast majority of the beam in an instant as the separate particles initiated a veritable kamikaze run on the beam in an attempt to make way for their brethren.

On their own, there’s a good chance that either the spike or the dense beam of Dread Energy would have been enough to get the job done, but such things would not be left up to chance. The spike was simply acting like a sleek energy piercing head which would protect the Dread Energy Beam that was fueling it’s advance. Even if the majority of the Dread Metal head was destroyed by the act of tearing through the beam, the beam of energy behind it would be more than able to makeup for it. They need only pass through the Destructive beam and into the barrier before the beam was finished (7-8 seconds as said by Dias) and then the real fun would begin…

A solid 3 seconds have passed since impact now, with only a fraction of one left before the spear may pierce the barrier, and the rest of Xavier's body was sliding free from within; as he slid from the beam, he was sending as much energy through it as he could muster before connection would have been severed to his already launched beam. The amount of force that had been released was massive, comparable even to the blast that he was battling with; but in the end, with no protection to speak of, the destructive nature of Dias's beam was able to tear apart the Dread Energy that attempted to pierce it. In the end, the spike had half the total supply of what Xavier first brought in with him pushing it forward. If the tactic was successful, the Dread Energy particles would thin themselves out and begin trying to spread themselves through the interior of the orb; while whatever remained of the spike would set about ricocheting from the various walls within the barrier.

The greater portion of the right side of his body now devoid of flesh and any remnants thereof. What remained, was Xavier's greatest defense and seldom seen secret; every fiber of his being had been fashioned from Dread Metal, aside from the skin that had been burned away. From the individual strands of muscular tissue down to the would be marrow of his bones; it was all fashioned from Dread Metal and shared it's defensive qualities. This did not render it immune from any of the beams destructive effects; scorch-like warps disturbed the usually perfect muscular structure of his pecs and abdomen, while random instances of broken muscular fibers littered the perimeters of these like curly pubes. His body had taken a beating, that much was true, but it certainly didn't put him out of the fight.

Now free of the beam, Xavier put disfigured boot to ground as he picked up more speed; a loud metallic creak sounding off, followed by a sharp *ping* as he forced movement out of his fused muscular structure and stepped with his bare, metal, left foot while he ran along the wall to his left leading towards the other shelter.

Ruling
  • The original attack of the saw disc that was ruled against them was by their propose trajectory in Xavier's post

"3 inch diameters and 15 hooked and pointed teeth on their edge. The air was briefly filled with a symphony of high pitched whistles as the they were fired forward" followed by

"with no physical effort on Xavier’s part these weapons accelerated to bullet speed they were all headed towards Dias's upper body and face, set synchronized impact I’m just under 200 milliseconds" ~ Xavier Bloodbayne, 1 attack 5th paragraph

  • The Edits Xavier made mandated by the EOD will target Dias' barrier after colliding with the obstacle before them

"Via a series of split second mental commands, Xavier was quickly able to regain control over the flight patterns of the saw blades, curve them back around in the air and then fire them once more at the shield to complete his test." ~ Xavier Bloodbayne, 2nd attack 2nd Paragraph

  • It is possible for the shield or Dias' forcefield "Excalibur" to be targeted in two distinctive ways.
    - Xavier's dread energy act as extrasensory for his character to see {Dread Energy - 2nd Bullet}
    - Dias Blade's Amiger forcefield extends 30 yards in radius from him that's 90' radius or 180' diameter {Introduction Post - 15th paragraph}
  • The line of sight between them is not widely hindered {Screenshot here}
  • The radiance of Amiger verifies the information provided

    "Of course, Dias didn't have much of a reprieve as his senses registered a strange manner of energy quickly seeking to flood the confines. Thankfully his field was still active. Before any of the alien particles could breach the outer perimeter of the field, a blinding golden radiance abruptly appeared completely surrounding the distorted space within" ~ Dias Blade {Introduction Post - 17th paragraph}

  • The stage being invulnerable will translate to the barriers of both players being contorted to the shape of the arena.
  • The saw disc are estimated to be traveling at 1100fps or 750mph from their initial launch. We deduce this value from the first attack by the distance between both players (220') and the time given (200 milliseconds by Xavier) to decipher his "bullet speed".
  • The disc will meet against the obstruction in the center of the stage and acknowledged by Xavier's EOD. The time it took to reach the stage obstruction is 0.10 seconds.
  • Dias timed his reaction to Xavier's attack only after the second attempt collided with an obstruction

"At the instant Xavier's second try with the saw blades made contact, they were promptly met with the same outcome had they managed to hit last time. But the strike itself created an opportunity as Dias immediately reacted by jumping up and further to the right just enough," ~ Dias Blade 3rd post - 4th Paragraph

  • Likewise the speed of the saw disc will reach 1500mph or 2200fps after colliding with Dias' forcefield described below:

"As the saw blades came into contact with the radiant barrier, they were sent screaming through the air; followed soon after by a dozen booms that sounded off in almost perfect unison as they were rocketed to over 1500 mph (twice average bullet speed)" ~ Xavier Bloodbayne - 4rd post 1st Paragraph

  • The retrieval of his saw disc were traveling at 1500mph will mean these disc will return back to Xavier roughly half the time it took to each any interference between them and Dias' defenses.
  • However, the words "followed soon after" from the excerpt above suggest that the saw disc did not reach the aforementioned velocity described in Xavier's post. It can be argued they transitioned from a speed before it but this would be considered a marginal reduction or delay to the estimated time due to the effect being chained from the "dozen booms going off in almost perfect unison"
  • The speed of any boom is equal or greater than the speed of sound which gives us the time it'd take for these disc to reach their maximum acceleration.
  • The saw disc ricocheting is possible if it's assumed they are still moving at the velocity reached at 1500mph. The floor and wall heights in the desk's enclosure is vastly smaller than the distance they traveled.
    - The ceiling height of the Porch section is 8'9" from floor to ceiling with the projectiles moving at 1100fps means their time between floor and ceiling is 0.00727273 seconds
    - There aren't many walls at either Player starts but the nearest walls is pillar north of Xavier that's 49' away (from the wall), and the larger wall to his east with being 21' away. The distance between both walls is 14' which means at 1100fps the projectiles will reach wall to wall ricochet in 0.0127273 s. This doesn't include the time they'd make diagonal and perpendicular cross-paths between trajectories
-Though the speed between these ricochets are immense proportionate to their small time: this action can be interrupted by Dias Blade as his movement is also minute though undefined.
  • It is possible for Xavier to sense the power surge of Dias Blade's attack. Xavier's profile sheet specifically states:

"physical movements that are out of sight and even changes in energy levels of the surrounding area." ~ Xavier Bloodbayne, Dread Energy Bullet 2.

  • It is also possible for the attack to be read only minutely before it is launched by the surge of power from within the Excalibur Barrier

"Resonating in tandem with one another, the SoulLink drew upon each, creating cohesion as a mass of turbulent energy manifested within the chamber." Dias Blade, 3rd post - 3rd Paragraph

  • The Excalibur barrier is described to shield Dias' own attacks from penetrating through (2nd attack, 4th paragraph). It is unspecified in his profile sheet what caveats this barrier may have but the attack launched from within his field is one of the exceptions as it "punched through"(3rd Attack, 5th paragraph) his own barrier. This may be a point of contention whether or not such an attack can be sensed as penetrating his own defenses to launch an attack means the attack build up is disguised behind the barrier.
  • Xavier's ability to see the attack is justified by his Dread energy's properties and what he typed:

"All at once, Xavier’s mind was filled with a volley of information as Dias released his attack; the first being incredible power surge pinging off of the Dread Particles nearest the radiant sphere as it was created." ~ Xavier Bloodman. 3rd Post, 2nd paragraph.

  • The speed in which the attack is unleashed might be difficult for Xavier to respond to not having the time in doing so (1/3rd speed of light).
  • A misinterpretation is present here

"Then, for but an instant, the force that repelled the particles from entering the barrier suddenly lessened, before the beam tore through the barrier and smacked into the thick particles that made up the front lines of the cloud." Xavier Bloodbayne. 3rd post, 2nd paragraph.

The force mentioned is the Excalibur barrier which originally repelled dread energy. He describe it lessen only by the attack which Dias unleashed from within. Dias only described it punching through. There will be no dampening transition as described by Xavier.

  • Xavier has two FRTs (Fast Reaction Time) abilities. The Dread energy particles is one (Dread energy, 2nd bullet) and his enhanced brain neurology (Enhanced Body, 3rd Bullet).
  • The blinding light of Dias' attack will play a role in Xavier's ability to see. It is not stated in his profile sheet that his eye sight is capable of manipulating the amount of light passing through or control over light being processed by his retina.
  • The Dread Energy combined with the passive FRT can assist in Xavier seeing the attack without his eyes.
  • It is reasonable for the information of the attack to reach Xavier roughly the same time if not marginally greater since its extrasensory ability was activated prior to Dias' attack.
  • Discrepancy here

"Before his eyes could register the flash of light bursting from the barrier, Xavier’s brain was firing off signals to his various limbs and they responded as fast as they possibly could; but not fast enough." ~ Xavier Bloodmain, 4rd post 4 paragraph

Since the attack of Dias punched through his own barrier may indicate that his own field may disguise what he was doing.

  • The initial impact of the energy attack hitting Xavier and the described effects of it splitting is how Xavier is taking damage to it. His skin, stated in his profile sheet, repels energy based attacks.

"Xavier’s skin has absorbed the Dread Energy magnificently and because of this it has a natural ability to repel energy based attacks and has a natural resistance to flame attacks." ~ Xavier Bloodbayne, Enhanced Body 2nd bullet

  • The skin's ability to repel by integration of dread energy would explain the energy attack being bisected and split in various ways.
  • There is a subtle distinction of the energy Xavier can repel stated by his profile sheet. Cuts or physical damage that can bypass his natural toughness can harm and damage him. The only energy he repels would be those of partial-tangible forces akin to the state of plasma (such as Dias' attack, actual plasma, electricity, etc,.). Hence, it is inferred through his own profile that kinetic forces do not constitute as the energies he can repel.
  • Xavier took considerable damage despite his profile sheet allowing him to repel energy based attacks.
  • With the above damage to consider and lengths to which Xavier took the damage we can roll a ruling based on his generosity
    - A repel all ability must have a limit and damage must be dealt with
    - Dread energy can be destroyed by the same attacks that can be repelled off the skin of Xavier.
  • This would mean that dread energy can be mitigated by forces Xavier is tough against.
  • For concerns that may be brought up in disputes: Xavier is NOT immortal. His ability to reconstruct his form in his profile sheet (history section) states to take time. I will not reveal anymore than this.
  • The rapid movement of the disc and their direction is unclear nor their path in relation to Xavier
  • We can extrapolate that they were cutting him up prior and thus, due to the lack of time, some of them are capable of being caught in the beam attack of Dias.
  • We do not understand the justification for the metal ball to pierce through Dias attack. Dread Metal does not possess the inherited properties of Xavier's skin so it cannot repel energy. The ball will succumb to the properties of Dias' disintegration beam.
  • The speed in which every sequential motion Xavier exhibited to make his own piercing attack in Dias' beam is in question. Xavier is capable of great speeds but only to make his own attack and launch it in a fraction of a second is unlikely.
  • The sequential order of Xavier's counter attack along with the sliding he underwent throughout the duration of the beam struggle suggest, much like the pollen ruling, that more time is required. It is possible to resolve his own before the 8 seconds expire, but no in any small fraction if you consider the steps required:
    - the beam was hit against Xavier
    - the beam and its nature is considered
    - the damage underwent described by Xavier and his sliding
    - Having the dread metal ball interact with the beam itself
    - Xavier's ball was reshaped upon contact with the beam (which is should not sustain due to the nature of the attack itself)
    - Xavier punching the spike like a hammer hitting a bullet
    - The travel time against the beam and its force
  • We cannot numerically quantify the beam's force pushed against the counter attack's opposing pressure but it incinerates regardless.
  • Dread particles were established to be weaken and defeated by this attack puts the piercing part of the attack itself into question (Xavier's 3rd post, 2nd and 3rd paragraphs). The ball itself needing to be within the beam first before it was imbued means it would have been destroyed.

Verdict

The match continues. Xavier will be issued his 2nd EOD to adjust for the changes from this ruling. Dias you may reply when Xavier is done and notifies both of us of his changes. Xavier knows the drill: highlight the changes made to your post. Xavier has taken damage from the attack and thus everything carries on as detailed above. Dias feel free to post when ready. To clear it up: Xavier could not see the attack coming before but only after. The speed it moved relative to Xavier's speed is disproportionate and thus Xavier you should take a few seconds out of your time in character. The damage you sustained is the damage you sustained. That will not change. Dias' Narria elemental combination devastating awesome hyper beam attack cannot be sensed within the Excalibur barrier as it required penetration to be released and thus implies it was not emitting anything before.

Verdict 2

The piercing attack of Xavier is defeated by the nature of Dias' beam attack. The properties of Dias' attack is set to destroy matter "instantly" which is a time modifier that denotes how long it took for it to dissolve objects it establishes contact with. Xavier's attack, to be a piercer, would require two elements for a successful attempt: The substituted material and the projectile itself. This goes into the same ruling as Pollen or Argryia's fight where the latter, much like your bout, does not have any defining characters of energy we can base our analysis off of. So by roleplaying mechanics and previous rulings we have concluded that the ball would be destroyed by the power of Dias’ attack since it has made first contact before subsequent actions of Xavier would enable it shield his Dread energy.

The Dread energy, itself, however can potentially be preserved but not in this attack. Evidence suggest that dread energy attempted to dampening the beam as a cloud during Xavier’s initial AOEs. Dread Particles, by admission of Xavier, would not fair well or almost at all against the energy emitted by his adversary; however, the second element of Xavier’s counter-attack (his piercer) is not simply a separated cloud of dread particles but an active state of Dread Energy. We cannot factual deduce how energy of one type (Narria beam) can effect another, though Xavier and the judges have given credence to the allowance of how Dias’ attack operated.

We are basing our ruling now off roleplay mechanics and TZDL’s scheduling system. The attack of Dias has no active stipulation or weaknesses governing its behavior. It has already proved effective in dispersing non-concentrated dread matter in its more gaseous state and effectively damaged his opponent’s natural defenses for the time being. The piercing attack Xavier attempted is thwarted but the Dread Energy passing into the attack is another matter. This half of the is only preserved up until a certain range, but since it isn’t the concentrated attack of Dias’ Narria Beam (including 8 seconds and its destructive capabilities) it will dissipate much like the dread particles that came before it. This implies Dread energy of perhaps the same variety at a stronger payload may result in desired effects should Xavier decide to pursue it. A lack of weakness of Dias’ attack would suggest that if a full stop-destruction of any effort Xavier tries to fight this beam and its speed would rank it Schedule 2 (no one but Pollen’s shroud would have a real good chance at it either). This is an outcome we want to avoid.

Over some distance the dread energy launched without any protection will be defeated. Xavier you may make the changes to your post on your 2nd EOD. We’ve based our findings off the established events from both parties to deduce the outcome while adhering to TZDL. Proceed.

THEME:

The congregation of alien particles that had been obscuring the arena were utterly decimated by the disintegrating blast, creating an opening for the man's unique eyes to finally peer through. Upon impact, Dias was able to make out the black, featureless silhouette of his opponent. Much to his surprise, the adversary not only managed to avoid being vaporized by such a powerful onslaught but even witnessed as Xavier pulled himself out of it. Talk about durable. This Final Boss was no joke, that was for damn sure.

Before the Narrian could even react, he was taken aback to see the mysterious creature actually try and make use of his own blast in an attempt to breach the force barrier's defenses. Clever. Thankfully, the sheer power magnitude of the energy mass overwhelmed the submerged Dread matter and the strange energy shot which followed suit.

At this point, Dias interrupted the stream of energy from his own blast by burning the remaining Ether, ending the attack early as the hole it made in his shield instantly closed back up to avoid having any of those weird particles managing to sneak inside. The five Greatswords shattered and turned to dust, dissipating into nothingness. That kind of attack required time to prepare and was only good for a single use each time. And now he no longer had the element of surprise on his side. Xavier had a pretty good idea of what to expect and it seemed doubtful he would fall for the same trick twice in a row.

Tch...

Did the blast even hurt him? Since Dias' Red Eyes can't make out physical features, he had been unable to discern any of the damage that his opponent had actually sustained. The mere fact alone he was able to survive a direct hit from something like that in the first place was concerning enough as is.

Perhaps power wasn't the way to go about this...
Time to switch up tactics.

At the exact moment that Xavier made his move to begin the Matrix style wall run, the golden radiance of the barrier shifted to an intense blue. With the surrounding Dread particles still being fended off by the projected force being generated, an invisible aura had manifested and was likewise being extended outward from the shield several feet beyond the buffer zone. Upon contact with physical matter, a flash freeze effect was demonstrated as anything touched became instantly frozen with ice forming. The ice possessed the same aura and was literally growing itself while spreading throughout the arena at an alarming rate.

The Dread Particles in the air were helping to speed up this process, the creeping ice managing to reach and cover every surface while the open space between the two fighters was crystallized into a literal wall that was imprisoning the particles and locking them in place and allowing no room for movement. The molecules would be paralyzed, trapped in stasis and any attempts to break free would require being able to destroy the arena itself which was acting as an anchor point. This invisible aura likewise could feed off of any source of heat, smothering it until extinguished which would prove fatal for any warm blooded creatures caught in its icy grip.

Meanwhile, Dias would remain safe, capable of burning the Ether of whatever ice tried to penetrate his field. But for Xavier, it would only take roughly a second to reach him at the current rate the ice was spreading. Assuming his body was organic, the mere touch would prove lethal, killing off the cellular tissue.

Granted, there was one exit point still open for him...trying to escape the arena by jumping up through the large opening in the middle...

While the visual of a Matrix-Style wall run is a pleasant one, Xaviers body was infact vertical as he was gliding through the structure towards the corner on his left. Once free of the blast, Xavier was able to commit more muscular power to each stride that carried him along the floor; granting him a level of acceleration that would put any Earthen sports car to shame. With one massive step, his body rocketed to 60 mph as he tore out from beneath the shelter, his right foot preparing to slam against the ground once again; when all of a sudden Xavier felt a bitter wave of cold tugging at the base of his skull as the freezing Aura stretched across his particles.

Before they could fight against it, but after they relayed the impending changes, a thick layer of ice had coated the 4 inch wall of thick Dread Energy particles that had surrounded the radiant barrier as the aura swept through the arena. However, this freezing sensation would have an effect on only those particles closest to the radiant barrier; whose physical presence had been increased to allow them to combat the barrier. The smaller of the particles were raw Dread Energy and thus possessed no physical presence, rendering them immune from the freezing effects that were targeting physical matter.

As the Aura drew nearer, the freezing sensation Xavier felt grew more intense as more of his particles warned him of the encroaching freezing energy and it's ability to create incredibly strong sheets of ice by a simple touch. Xavier's foot slammed against the ground for but an instant, increasing his speed by an additional 60mph while simultaneously lifting his body off of the ground. Not one to waste a single second, Xavier took a moment during his travel to quickly summon a layer of Dread Energy across his entire body; camouflaging it in a fuzzy red haze.

In much the same way that he was able to pull his body from within the Destructive beam, Xavier willed his body to shift its position in an unnatural fashion as it rose from the ground; taking care to point himself east as he contorted into a horizontal position 3 feet in the air, his face and chest were pointed toward the ground below him, his knees had been bent to their absolute limit, both hands were closed into fists above his head and his feet were mere inches from the wall, with the distance between them was gradually lessening. This action had been decided upon long before realizing the aura was coming after him and the knowledge of this did absolutely nothing to change Xavier's plan; aside from adding the energy across his body and all things that spawn from this.

Xavier's feet finally began making contact with the wall beneath them; another lightshow of red sparks lighting up the otherwise dark corridor as more force was exerted upon his body and the wall. Xavier's toes dug into the metallic grooves which adorned the surface beneath them; their hooking and pulling combined with the control of his own metallic body allowed Xavier to slow himself down just enough to finish his plan.

In that same instant, which he finally stopped, the freezing Aura slammed home against the top of his metallic head and a multitude of ice crystals began to manifest all over his body. But just as fast as they had appeared, they were destroyed as the air was permeated with the ear piercing shrieks of a thousand damned and tortured souls as the Dread Energy coating his body was ignited in order to coat himself in Dreadful Flames. It was not the heat of these flames that was destroying these ice crystals, but rather the unique property they carried which allowed them to destroy physical matter upon contact; with Xavier now resembling a crimson fireball, the ice crystals would have been eradicated before getting much larger than a snowflake. In perfect unison with the horrid screams, a metallic scraping echoed out as Xavier hurled himself away from the wall with as much force as he could muster; his fists tightening as they prepared for the impact they were about to endure.

With that one monstrous thrust of his legs, Xavier rocketed to 300mph and fired himself between the platform ahead of him to the right and the wall, ahead of him and to the left. In only a quarter second, Xaviers fist tore effortlessly through the ice that had encased his energy and then slammed against the wall of Dread Particles. Those within the initial impact zone of his fists felt the full brunt of their masters power; mashing and grinding against the barrier they had already been hugging. The force they were able to absorb was equal to that of a fully loaded semi truck smashing against an anti-vehicle pole. How could the barrier fair against this massive pressure attempting to force the particles inside?

This was but one of the dangers of this tactic; as impact occurred the area beyond Xavier's fists was selectively ignited into Dreadful Flames; a change restricted to only the enlarged particles that composed the wall. Within this wall there were at least hundreds of particles that mashed themselves together to create the structure; and In a violent, split second, chain reaction each enlarged Dread Particles had their stored energy levels shifted to that of Dreadful Flames. With so much energy packed into a tight container, the inition process was very... Energetic. Each particle, the largest being no bigger I'm size then a cats-eye marble, held the explosive power of a stick of dynamite; meaning that at any one time, the explosive power of over 100 sticks of dynamite would be concentrated on every square inch of the barriers surface up until there was no more thick particles to ignite; the explosions themselves directed entirely towards the barrier and the flames stretching out in an effort to force passed the barrier.

The speed at which Xavier was traveling was nothing too impressive, surely there were those who could move significantly faster than he just had. Where Xavier's speed differed from others, was the massive amount of weight he was carrying around at any given time. In times like these, where his skin has been removed and considerable damage done to his body, and Xavier has solidified his bones and muscle, Xavier weighed just over 816Kg. When heaving this much weight up to 300 mph, you need an incredible amount of power and only something of equal or greater power would be able to stop him. Though, anything that attempted would have to match the over 5,412,400 ftlbs of raw power that was ready to unload upon the first thing that stood in the way. Surely the barrier would find stopping this much weight in an instant exponentially harder than stopping the same blades that had been previously thrown at it.

If Xavier were to break through the barrier of Dias, he would careen directly towards the Eastern wall until he collided against it; the bare muscular frame of his arms visibly quaking and tensing as several *twangs* filled the air as some muscular fibers were stressed to their limit. Beyond this, the impact helps no negative impact on Xavier and he was able to quickly right himself in the confines of the opposing porch; Dread Energy ebbing from every miniscule gap in his muscular fiber.

THEME:

Well...that was unexpected...

The Narrian continued to observe his opponent's movement, forced to rely upon his other senses to keep track of the creature as once again the alien matter surrounding his barrier was obscuring his unique red eyes. It was both equally as confusing and concerning that this stranger was seemingly disregarding the danger posed by the invisible aura, rushing right into it with reckless abandon.

Then again, everything about this Final Boss was an enigma. Managing to somehow survive a direct hit from his previous attack and still being able to move without issue as it was. How the cloud of alien particles filling the arena could originally be destroyed by said blast and could physically be interacted with, yet somehow apparently was not physical matter in any way, shape or form so as to be entirely immune to the freezing effects of his projected aura.

Regardless, no attempts were ever made to try and prevent the spread of the creeping ice, encasing the arena interior as it swiftly covered the walls, ceiling and floor. Virtually anything that it could latch onto. But the ice itself wasn't the true threat, merely a byproduct. Something Xavier would find out far too late...

Upon making contact with the creature's head, it would have been subjected to the crippling effects of the aforementioned aura. Assuming this thing had a brain of some sort, the physical matter within the body would suffer being flash frozen in an instant long before any ice crystals would begin to form. If the organic tissue wasn't outright killed in the process, at the very least it would be trapped in a state of suspended animation, halting any and all thought process including, one would imagine, the ability to conjure up its Dreadful Flames. Why the stranger waited so long to put up some sort of defense before the aura touched it was just...confusing to say the least, like everything else.

Perhaps it was just a simple mistake. But in a battle of this caliber, a simple mistake can prove fatal. Even had the flames managed to still manifest after the fact, it seems rather unlikely they would have been able to somehow cure the internal condition of being instantly frozen from the inside out.

In the event his adversary didn't just simply drop to the floor like a frozen popsicle at that point and could have somehow, miraculously still to pull off launching itself like Super Man at the Force Barrier, this had also been taken into account.

Using Xavier as an indicator mark for positioning, Dias' senses registered the Ether present within the thick layer of ice all along the ground in front of his enemy, stretching across the distance between them. The aura being projected from the Force Barrier was allowing for maintained physical connection by extension from himself and the rapidly spreading ice. At the precise instant the creature would have launched off the wall, the Ether turned unstable and went critical, triggering a chain reaction of massive explosions directly beneath Xavier after having fully committed its body to the act and leaving itself entirely exposed and vulnerable.

However, considering the disintegration blast had failed to kill the monster previously, the Narrian's strategy was to use the detonation as a means to kick the beast up through the open air ceiling, the explosion delivering more than enough force to interrupt Super Man mid-flight and viciously hurl him straight upward with brutal intensity. It was a good thing the arena was indestructible, unscathed by the devastating blast which no doubt would have left a rather sizable crater where the structure once stood. Whether or not it could have been capable of also killing the assumed invincible creature would have just been an added bonus.

Of course, Dias remained safe from the destruction behind his Force Barrier the entire time. As witnessed earlier in the fight, the shield worked on a very simple mechanic; whenever an outside force pushed against it, the barrier was designed to reflect any kinetic energy back which made it highly effective against heavy artillery fire or ballistic weaponry. Or someone looking to consistently heave a wrecking ball at it over and over and expecting different results.

Even if his opponent had been able to make it across the distance, the impact alone would have been reversed and all that applied strength being pressed against it would have either sent Xavier violently flying backwards in the same way the saw discs were and or the monster's own body would have been horrifically damaged if it was unable to withstand getting hit by an equal amount of force that was being exerted upon the barrier.

Granted, this was all merely academic as odds were that the stranger had likely just turned into a popsicle now laying on the floor, no longer able to continue fighting.

Meanwhile, the five Diamond Greatswords which had been sacrificed earlier had now reformed in the same manner they had been created earlier, now joining the other large, hovering weapons which had continued to remain in a defensive stance and poised to react to any threats in the event his opponent had magically shrugged off every single counter posed against it, despite how unlikely that scenario may have seemed.

Ruling
  • Xavier's skin was halfway removed and destroyed by the previous beam attack from Dias as indicated by Xavier's EOD post.
  • Dias will cancel the remaining portion of his beam attack. He'll initiate the flash freeze with the ether from the attack.
  • Dread particles are confirmed to only be frozen if at a specific size1
  • Flash-Freeze aura is emitted from the barrier's location and expanding outward.
  • Flash-Freeze has an effect to "instantly freeze" on contact with any physical object. The 2nd effect pertains to ice crystallizing from the freezing with the same effect as the Flash-Freeze.
  • The ice crystals that formed permeated the same aura. This concludes that Dias' Excalibur barrier emitted the same flash-freeze properties having shift blue as an elemental color indication.
  • Dias Blade IS capable of creating and manipulating elements he controls provided Ether is its core supply of generation2
  • It was ruled previously that he is allowed elemental control of the primary six elements of Narria: Water being an element in the ruling.
  • Dread Energy does destroy and wears down physical matter over time3 though it pertain to shields and weaponry but they are tangible thus validated.
  • Flash-Freeze's ability to freeze an object is immediate with the time indicator of "instant" as a duration value.
  • It would be impossible for Xavier to dig his nails into the grooves of the stage since it's invincible; however, it might also mean he wedged his toes into the wedges to slow his momentum when fixing his position. It isn't how the act is performed but this plays a critical role in the verdict below.
  • Xavier will reach a stopping point of his advance when his toes hooked into the grooves. He'd use this position to coil enough to spring towards Dias. This is another absolute critical point to the verdict.
  • The stopping point of Xavier's contorted body's path narrates how Dias' flash freezing aura makes contact against the "metallic head" of Xavier. He is "hit" in the head first at this stopping point.
  • Xavier will describe the effects of the flash freeze by denoting the ice crystal formulating throughout his body. This is the 2nd effect of Dias' flash-freeze aura and the finality of a confirmed hit.
  • Dread Flame is akin to ordinary flame with a faster burning/eradicating rate.
  • Xavier's character does not have many vital organs, but it is confirmed he does have a brain (Profile sheet: Enhanced Body, final bullet)4
  • Dread Flame's heat was not described as to what counteracts the ice crystal agents but their Dread Particle properties.

Verdict

Dias Blade is capable of wielding the elemental ice as it is a solid state of water crystallizing. His profile sheet and the ruling indicates them in tandem.

"Once burned, unstable raw Ether which is essentially undefined energy can then be defined using base elements, such as Metal to craft simple weapons like Swords." ~ Dias Blade, Ether Burn (TZDL2017) - Third Paragraph

"The Five primary elements of Narria are

Fire
Water
Earth
Air
Light."
~ Mobius 2nd Ruling5

The elements Dias can control or generate was indicated in his previous bout with Leeroy where he created a Scythe and then super-heated it. It can be determined that elemental is both chemical and fantasy. This allows Dias Blade to craft weaponry and manipulate their temperature as well as generate natural forces. Water, being an element in both regards to periodic table configuration and fantasy, was frozen to a solid state as provided by Ether. Dias cancelled the finality of his beam to use what remained to create his Flash Freeze. Flash Freeze may not be an energy field but a product of that changes the ambient temperature on contact to an absolute freezing point within an instant.

Xavier's body and its exposed skeleton was stated in the EOD post previous to Dias' Flash-Freeze where at least halve of his flesh was removed from the resulting beam he survived.6 In the next set of actions he'd race to the north of the stage before contorted his body to face east while continuing his trajectory in the hopes of propelling off the wall. His dread particles will notify him of the freezing wave emitting from his opponent throughout the duration of his post as validated by his profile sheet involving Dread Energy and Dread particles as an extrasensory. By this point Xavier will already be imbued by his own Dread energy aura.

Xavier's skin repels energy, but no energy is expelled by the flash-freeze as it's a byproduct of "energy" spent to create it. The flesh of Xavier is already removed prior so little insulation is provided regardless. Xavier also contains 3 times more blood than a human though it consist of dread fluid. The properties of Dread Energy remains consistent that upon anything not of itself does dissolve and erode objects; however, there's a duration in which prolong exposure causes the aforementioned erosion. The first physical contact Xavier's character will meet involve Dias in this instance was the flash freeze, and he indicated that it would:

"In that same instant, which he finally stopped, the freezing Aura slammed home against the top of his metallic head and a multitude of ice crystals began to manifest all over his body" ~ Xavier Bloodbayne, 5th post - 6th paragraph

This is a confirmed hit from Dias' attack with the aforementioned effects mentioned.

"Upon contact with physical matter, a flash freeze effect was demonstrated as anything touched became instantly frozen with ice forming. The ice possessed the same aura and was literally growing itself while spreading throughout the arena at an alarming rate." ~ Dias Blade, 4th post - 5th paragraph

There are an abundant amount of discrepancies we uncovered. Xavier first allowed the wave to make contact with him and in particular his exposed cranium. Dread Metal does not indicate any stipulation against freezing effects of cooler temperatures, and Dias described the effects of his freezing as "instant" so the duration of the aforementioned freeze is instantaneous. The second issue is that Xavier stopped his momentum at this very point in which he'd succumb to the freezing. This is important because if he is frozen then the rest of his attack may not have occurred.

Xavier's flame does burn and at a greater rate of "flame", but at which rate we cannot determine and again it is at a rate versus the immediate freeze of Dias' wave. The important detail is that his "flames" Dread energy effect only targets the crystals. They do not prevent the instant freeze which ignites the ice crystals effect. Xavier, instead, described as having been effected by the flash freeze and allowed ice crystals to form throughout his body before igniting his aura into dread flame. Dread Flame is akin to ordinary fire with a different coloration and burning rate having a dread energy affinity, but dread energy itself does not instantly dissolve matter. Ice crystals forming all over from the same aura of Dias' flash freeze means the instant freezing attack is wholesale.

"But just as fast as they had appeared, they were destroyed as the air was permeated with the ear piercing shrieks of a thousand damned and tortured souls as the Dread Energy coating his body was ignited in order to coat himself in Dreadful Flames. It was not the heat of these flames that was destroying these ice crystals, but rather the unique property they carried which allowed them to destroy physical matter upon contact;" ~ Xavier Bloodbayne, 5th Post - 6th Paragraph

Dread Flame nor Dread Energy immediately destroys matter. The flame's heat itself by Xavier's admission did not target the ice crystals in an attempt to thaw. The ice crystals was already made and is only made because Xavier was "instantly frozen" by Dias' ice wave upon contact voluntarily. That indicates he'll be frozen by the time these ice crystals form, but the flames do not combat the actual freeze. It cannot be instant because Dread Flame nor Dread Energy immediately destroys matter either. There's 3 distinct instances that mention this.

"The structural integrity of weapons and armor may begin to waiver after several direct hits and/or physical blocks of the Dread Energy." ~ Dread Energy, 3rd Bullet

"The Dread Metal, as it would be named, gained its special properties through decades of breaking down a stone lake bed before Xavier has found it." ~ Dread Metal, description

"On the whole these flames would operate much like ordinary flames. They do however burn with a dark red hue. The infusion of Dread Energy grants them the ability to burn eradicate matter at a higher rate as well as allows Xavier to create his flames on a whim." ~ Dread Flame

Versus

"It was no more than a minute after Xavier had first fallen into the black lake, time passing much slower in the real world."
"Inside The like he found what remained of his body lying at the bottom; already a skeleton as the Chaos Energy had eaten away the flesh"
~ Xavier Bloodbayne, the chronicles - final 6 paragraphs.

The chaos energy destroying the original Xavier was a product of the Chaos God Mitsurashi and though both are almost indistinguishable. The degeneration rate differs from these two instances. It can be argued they are exactly similar except for Xavier's will, but the story's effects of Chaos energy from the lake was the product of another will having a different erosion rate than the profile sheet suggest from Dread Energy's own abilities (since Xavier awoken to find his body destroyed). Chaos energy became Dread energy upon successful accession of Xavier Bloodbayne's title to the new "chaos god" of his canon and the body dissolving only occurred by whim of Mitsurashi instead.

The final and most vital piece of information is Xavier's own anatomy. Xavier has replaced and removed vital organs of his body to perpetuate Dread Fluid (liquid dread energy), but Xaiver does contain a brain. The brain of Xavier itself is still a vital organ in which information and will of the character is signaled. There's no indication in his profile sheet that he is removed from bodily death and though it is possible for Xavier to survive losing a body (including a brain) he might not be able to reassemble another bodily construct in time and thus will be unable to battle. This is indicated in the backstory of Xavier where he first learned to create a body from his own, killed others, and then fashioned an optimized body based on encounters he's had. This means some time is necessary for the creation of another construct. Xavier's brain is still the vital organ in which he gives and receives information especially in this fight when regarding Dread Energy's extrasensory. The brain is not a solid object (it's more of a liquid) and exposure to the flash freeze first with a metallic surface interacting with it would also instantly freeze the brain:

"Xavier has enhanced the neuron pathways that send signals from his brain to his various limbs. Allowing his body to beginning reacting at an increased rate." ~ Enhanced Body, Final Bullet

The brain being frozen will render him paralyzed and unable to continue as he'll have confirmed a hit by the flash freeze, and any commands he gives will also be mesmerized. A point of contention can be made by the Dread Energy aura surrounding Xavier, but by admission Dread Particles are unaffected by the flash-freeze in which some form of correlation is deduced. Xavier narrated that only the larger particles were spellbound but smaller particles were immune or unaffected, but these enlarged Dread Particles are a product of cannibalization from his EOD post and thus not a natural occurrence of Dread Energy's inherited behavior.

"However, this freezing sensation would have an effect on only those particles closest to the radiant barrier; whose physical presence had been increased to allow them to combat the barrier. The smaller of the particles were raw Dread Energy and thus possessed no physical presence, rendering them immune from the freezing effects that were targeting physical matter." ~ Xavier's x post6

This is true as they will be energy; however, the liquid dread energy inside of Xavier and his body is solid matter and will freeze akin to the engorged Dread Particles. This may explain how the flash-freeze emission was able to make contact, but also determines that he'll be frozen and internally as well:

"Xavier has replaced the blood in his body with a liquid metal form dread energy substitute" ~ Xavier Bloodbayne, Dread Metal - First Sentence

"Via his direct commands Xavier’s blood is forced through the pores of his body wherever it is needed where it takes on the glisten of liquid metal and can harden in an instant to replicate the strength of heavy armor with almost half the necessary amount of material." ~ Xavier Bloodbayne, Dread Metal - First Bullet.

"Xavier is known to possess three to four times as much blood as a normal human of the same size and stature. The main reason for this is that Xavier is free from the burden of major internal organs such as lungs, kidneys, liver or hear. All these things are broken down during the change and their cells are used to produce more Dread Energy. Xavier’s blood is a combination of Dread Energy and earthen Energy that allows Xavier full control over his blood. Meaning not all wounds will bleed and if they do it is often for an underlying reason." ~ Xavier Bloodbayne, Enhanced Body - Description and First Paragraph.

Dread Fluid will be large enough to be rendered as molecules to be frozen and stopped and subsequently also freezing Xavier in place. In this state Xavier will be unable to contest as Dread Energy will have to dissolve frozen dread matter. A mental command must be given, but none can be dispatched as the brain will be frozen first. TZDL has a restriction against immunity to death and a paralyzed character can result in a KO if they are unable to fight. Dread Flames was narrated not to use the heat to thaw Xavier but their degradation effect which takes an unspecified time, and the only matter they'll dissolve is foreign crystals from moisture in the air being frozen. For them to thaw Xavier will indicate they'll have to first dissolve the character itself as he is still frozen by the freeze and thus destroy his own body in the process. This is a possibility but at this point Xavier will be unable to battle, and thus it is ruled that Xavier is unable to continue this fight as being technically frozen by the flash freeze. The ice crystals will initiate their effect and it's questionable whether Xavier will be giving the command upon being instantly frozen and if so will take time for the ice crystals to be dilapidate. The time may not be incredibly long but Xavier will still remain frozen.

Dias Blade advances. Xavier had some interesting abilities with a custom power and had some workable ideas albeit mistimed in execution.

Ruling
  • Excalibur is disputed to not have any defined characteristics as a pivotal point of defense of Dias Blade match. It is not in the profile sheet and, as previously mentioned in a prior ruling, cannot determine its functions, properties, and thus limitations.
  • Flash Freeze is not disputed by the judges. Dias Blade is capable within his power to create this ability not only by virtue of his profile sheet, but by TZDL ruling:

You CANNOT use any power, weapon, ability, item, or etc that is NOT stated in your profile sheet UNLESS authorized by a map; however, you may use or create byproducts of your abilities, weapons, power, items, etc through In Character creativity.
  • Dias Blade did adequately mitigate the saw disc.

"At the instant Xavier's second try with the saw blades made contact, they were promptly met with the same outcome had they managed to hit last time." ~ Dias Blade, 4th post 4th Paragraph 1
  • Xavier has failed to mitigate the flash freeze's effect.

Verdict: The Saw Disc incident is a minor rule in this fight, but it determines the characteristics of Dias' continuous Excalibur barrier. The attack by Xavier's saw disc triggers a condition in Dias' radiant field that repels kinetic forces and distributes back additional force to a foreign object. Upon activation of this ability all foreign energies emitted from Xavier in the form of his Dread Particles are also withheld from entering. The third is a caveat denoting exceptions to what may pass this barrier, but with no frame of reference we cannot enforce these conditions. Only Dias will know, and has made use of this exception in the form of his own attack; however, it does not involve the Flash Freeze incident and the radiant barrier, regardless of its kinetic repulsion, can actively ward off Dread Energy from a clause in Xavier's profile sheet.

Xavier's dread particles state in his profile sheet:

"The structural integrity of weapons and armor may begin to waiver after several direct hits and/or physical blocks of the Dread Energy. Unless said weapons or armor are in someway preventing direct contact being made. Such as generating their own energy in some way or being coated with a protective barrier. Other means of preventing physical contact can be accessible.
Can induce insanity through sustained exposure to heavily tainted air or through several physical attacks of this or any other varying attack forms."
~ Xavier Bloodbayne, Dread Energy - Third bullet

This indicates that "some" form of protection is permissible to ward off Dread Energy or Dread Particles. The kinetic properties of Dias' barrier can be considered inconsequential in this instance because Dread Energy precipitates the condition in which its own power cannot effect physical objects if "some" form of defense is activated. The ruling indicating the 5 elemental aspects of Narria involve the basic core elements including light. The Radiance Barrier Dias Blade uses is composed of a light using "energy" to repel Dread Energy. That plainly means that the interaction with Dread Energy and Dias' own energy field is absolute. The additional effects of the Excalibur barrier is in question.

Dias Blade's barrier has specific conditions to be met in order for this barrier to meet a threshold, but we do not have this information readily available. Without a framework for such an ability it is impossible to accurately determine its legitimacy of functionality. An example will be the following:

"Of course, the only downside was that this also applied to Dias as well. Most of his own attacks would likewise be unable to penetrate the EXCALIBUR's barrier, a double edged sword." ~ Dias Blade, 2nd number, paragraph 4.

We do not know anything about the limits of this barrier. Such an ability WILL HAVE TO BE mentioned in the profile sheet and thus considered illegal; however, it was approved of because it is burned ether.

"Suddenly, the space within a thirty yard radius around him started to become distorted. Using the SoulLink to project a constant stream of ether which permeated all physical matter, he established a sphere of influence around himself compromised of the raw imaginative energy." ~ Dias Blade, First Post - ARMIGER

The legitimacy of its ability ward almost everything makes aspects of this defense illegal, but not all of it entirely. What does make it illegal is that Dias was able to attack through his own defense without prior knowledge on our end what constitutes exceptions to his own barrier's condition. These properties and functions are outside of the Five Narria Ruling as they were established prior to and do not fall within the realm of what's described by Ether. The field protecting the operator from Dread Energy is acceptable even by admission of Dread Energy's own functionality. We cannot substantiate kinetic forces being repelled in the fashion Dias described, and as before no defense or force cannot go unchallenged. The question goes "What exceptions CAN go through?" hence needing to be placed in his sign ups. The outcome of this analysis?

This match will continue into

Sudden Death

This fight continues under the following conditions
  • Flash Freeze is in effect: Xavier voluntarily took a hit from a legitimate attack. He is frozen.
  • Flash Freeze Thaw: Xavier may thaw from the flash freeze over time in a few post
  • Flash Freeze Contention: Xavier did not mention the heat of his Dread Flames playing a factor. He cannot instantly unfreeze.
  • Flash Freeze Contention 2: Xavier can use his abilities to continue the fight
  • Flash Freeze Contention 3: Xavier stopped at the point when he was frozen. Due to gravity his body will fall to the floor as it will be unable to move to complete his original attack sequence.
  • Excalibur Barrier is disable: This is a penalty for a rule violation. Excalibur cannot be invoked again.
  • It is possible for Dias to enact another protection provided it is within the previous rulings and his profile sheet.
  • Penalty and enforcement: Dias is restricted only purely to his profile sheet and provisions. He may improvise provided his character abilities allow it strictly.
  • Explosion initiated by Dias: Dias initiated an attacked to intercept Xavier's flight. He will not be in flight frozen at the time he stopped before propelling himself. The explosion was described by Dias Blade to launch him into the open ceiling which is located in the Courtyard, but Xavier stopped within the Porch section facing the courtyard before launching.

From here on both players post with this information normally. Xavier, you may post first when ready. The platforms in the Courtyard lowers after this point on as provided by the stage description.

Xavier Bloodbayne The Man. The Myth. The Legend.

The last thing Xavier could remember about his previous tactic, was gliding across the wall as the wave of frost slammed against his body. His vision blurred before going completely black, while a dull ringing filled his ears as the bitter sting of frost coursed through him. With his body poised to strike and the Aura of Dread Energy cloaking his body, Xavier’s mind would have seemed to simply click off as the entirety of his body was suddenly frozen solid. With an almost inaudible metallic scraping sound, his now immobile body simply slid free of the grooves his toes were dug into and began falling to the floor.

In the same moment the Freezing Aura hit, there was an obvious shift in the actions of the Dread Energy particles that clung in the air. Before the frost had hit Xavier they had been actively pushing against a strange light that had been hindering their advancement. Just as this barrier of radiant light dissipated away, the force the particles exerted against it had diminished as well; casting an eerie stillness over the arena as the thick blanket of Dread Energy seemed to freeze in place. To most onlookers, it would surely seem as though the previous attack his opponent unleashed had done the job.

This was only partially true. It had indeed rendered him immobile and had all but halted his brain activity; but somewhere deep within the confines of his mind he was 'awake'. Aware of only an engulfing darkness which surrounded him and bound his body in place; a disorienting sense of perpetual falling flooding what remained of his senses. He did not know it, but he felt his physical body falling at a painfully slow rate. What exactly had happened?

Thoughts moved like molasses while he resided within the darkness of his own mind; the wraiths of his past haunting and taunting him as they pounced like rabid animals upon this moment of weakness. Repressed memories of lives long since passed were given painful solidity in the form of stray flecks, specks and strands of Dread Energy that roiled and. quivered in place; illuminating the darkness with a soft red, bouncing glow akin to a campfire. Distorted and destroyed faces looked upon with disdain and mockery while mangled corpses of all sizes danced and lashed about his vision. As time dragged on, the images began to grow larger and come in closer, while their numbers increased in leaps and bounds until hundreds of thousands of different faces and bodies twisted about him; Xavier able to feel their presence digging into his body with every passing figure, as though chunks and pieces of his very essence were being ripped away with each graceful movement. Is this how he is to die? The souls of the damned come back to reclaim the power that was stolen from them.

Outside of his mind, Xaviers body was very nearly finished with its fall and his head now pointed towards the ground; ready to unwillingly brunt the impact. The Dread Energy Aura which surrounded his body had lost its luster; now more like a light powder coating of the energy as only the most microscopic of movements came from them as they clung to their frozen master. Feeding off the charges of the final mental commands they had very nearly received.

With a high pitched ping Xaviers head would collide with and bounce off of the floor; sending a flash of bright red energy throughout the entirety of darkness that surrounded him. It was enough to distort the horrid faces and the high pitched ringing in his ears. For a moment.

As the vibrations of the echo began to subside, the pieces of Dread Energy began to reappear; their numbers amassing so as to create one large, quivering shape. With every strike of his frozen metallic body against the ground of the Arena; a flash of red light overtook his senses and helped the large mass of energy take shape.

Finally, as his body came to rest on the ground just 2 seconds after being frozen, the image vanished from sight in one final burst of red light.

THEME:

In the instant that the freezing aura made contact with his opponent, something abruptly strange happened as if the universe had suddenly been rewritten. For some reason, the Force Barrier that had been manifested at the start of the match to fend off those bothersome alien particles had just seemingly ceased to exist outright. This was no doubt the will of some higher power at work behind the scenes, likely the same forces running the tournament that had zapped him into this location in the first place.

Regardless, that annoyance could be bitched about over a cold drink once this was over. Considering he was still confined to this arena, that likely meant his adversary was still alive. Go figure. At this point what with everything else that had happened, the notion that his foe could likewise survive being turned into a frozen popsicle wouldn't really surprise the Narrian, those crimson eyes still blaring brightly with a killer mentality.

The reality of their situation was that Dias wasn't trapped in here with this creature. It was trapped in here with him. Damn good thing it was durable too, because this Final Boss was about to be turned into his personal punching bag. This onslaught was far from over so long as it insisted on clinging to whatever fleeting life still remained.

Though the radiant shield was gone, in its place now stood a rather imposing wall of ice that had formed to lockdown the mass of Dread Particles which had previously gathered around the surface area of his barrier earlier. Assuming the particles outside couldn't just magically permeate solid matter, it would likewise serve just as well at keeping them out of his personal space for the moment. Not like he would need it, though. The very instant the barrier vanished, one of the eight weapons which had taken up a defensive position swiftly moved and was already bridging the gap between his field and the surrounding wall, maintaining contact with the diamond tip managing to pierce an inch deep. By the time his opponent's frozen shell hit the floor, practically the entire interior layout of the open air chamber had been encased in the same creeping ice with there never having been any attempt to prevent its spread. Still. A highly effective trap. And every inch of it was comprised of Ether...

Whatever his opponent might have been planning, Dias wasn't kind enough to actually give them any sort of reprieve, several of his floating Greatswords lining up to form a protective wall in front of himself as his assault resumed without hesitation. Before the creature's body would even be allowed to come to a full rest upon the frozen floor, the energy residing within the ice was triggered with but a mere thought carried through the sword and into the mass of ice, starting a chain reaction centered at two opposite points. What resulted was a series of tremendous explosions within the arena as the thick layers of ice coating the ground and ceiling of the porch section began to simultaneously ignite with enough raw destructive force that one would think there was a damn earthquake. Good thing the colosseum could handle it.

The explosions weren't focused directly on top of the monster, but rather were set further out and positioned expertly so as to avoid them getting too out of control and obliterating everything in sight. Each explosion served to double the accumulating payload of lethal pressure being generated, blazing a trail leading right to Xavier so as to deliver what would be the final blow packing an obscene amount of force that would sandwich the living icecube between a collison of bombs causing it to either shatter the fiend into a zillion tiny pieces, mangle and rip apart the body into an unrecognizable frozen corpse or at the very least turn its brains into jelly and liquefy the internal organs, assuming it even had those.

The blasts would make impact in about roughly half of those 2 seconds that his foe would spend bouncing in place, interrupting any sort of scheme there might have been in the works. For whatever reason, the creature still had failed to erect any kind of defensive measure despite how wide open and vulnerable it was in the present state which would prove to be its last and final mistake...
