However, given his various tattoos, it doesn’t look out of place.
Magical Abilities: ~THE DARK EYE~ Oak is able to mark surfaces with a magical eye symbol, which he can then see through with some focus. He can mark up to three surfaces at once, and unless one is gifted in magic they are almost impossible to see (and even then, they often go unnoticed). If the distance between him and an eye gets too great, he will begin to lose connection and the eye will fade. The less eyes he plants, the more he can focus on one (and thus the further away he can be). He is unable to hear with this eye. He can mark a single living being, but it requires all three uses of the dark eye. It’s not something you can wash off in the shower, but someone with even a basic ability to dispel shouldn’t have trouble getting rid of this. ~EARLY PYROMANCY STAGES~ Oak has also began playing around with some very very basic pyromancy. So far the most impressive thing he can do is light a dry cigarette at such a slow speed he would be better off using a lighter. Practice makes perfect though. Place of Birth: Nottingham, England. Currently Residing: New York Personality: Oak is a great believer in a principle he learned in the police: Assume nothing, believe nothing and challenge everything. He has taken this principle to heart and perhaps as a result has become a little bit too distant and untrusting. His suspicions of others has led him to become somewhat unsociable and bitter. He is slow to make friends, particularly because he is so god-damn pessimistic. History/Bio: Oak grew up in Nottingham, England and was the third child of four. His childhood was good and free of any tragedy. He did ok at school, getting mostly Bs and Cs. Having grown up on too many buddy-cop films, Oak always dreamt of joining the police and joined at the relatively early age of 18. For the first couple of years on the beat, life continued to be somewhat uneventful for Oak. Sure his job was very interesting, and he dealt with different situations every day, but when he took off his uniform at the end of the day he simply went home and lived a normal life. However things changed when his magical abilities started to manifest in his early twenties. The first time he cast the dark eye he found himself completely freaking out and even had to take a couple of months sick leave to get his head round things. For a long time he thought that he might have genuinely been going insane. But as he learned to use the power, he realised that he had been granted a tremendous gift. And that was when things really started to go down hill. For you see, in the UK the justice system greatly values evidence and fair trials. And whilst Oaks ability let him discover the secrets behind many crimes, from the man hitting his wife behind closed doors, to the teacher abusing their students, to the drug pusher selling to youths on the park, it did not present him with any material of useable evidence. It was infuriating for him – too know that someone was committing a crime and having no legitimate way to prove it. And one day he simply snapped, beating up a local paedophile after months of failing to get any concrete evidence. He was arrested by his colleagues and ended up being sentenced to a year in prison. Since being released Oak has worked as a freelance unlicensed detective and has particularly become interested in taking up any work involving the occult. It is his latest job that has brought him over to New York. He has been tasked with tracking down a young woman who is believed to have fled state-side in order to join some sort of coven. As things stand he is no knowledge of any legitimate magic groups and therefore is rather new and impartial to everything. Relationships None at present
