I would really prefer characters who would be in the basic terms: distinct. 

Look at FOTNS or madmax and see that every character is really distinctive in everything from look, speech paterns, stories to backstory. I Want a character you can look at and know everything about them.

Other than that, this will be a world where there are vehicles and weaponry like guns but they are extremely rare. For the most part society is really starting over again so try to think of a mix of a madmaxian society of creepy maniacs and an almost medieval society. There are empires and peasant workers but also motorbiker bandits jacked up on various drugs and slightly insane. 


As for crazy martial arts, I at least don't want you guys to be Kenshiro levels of power. He was all all-powerful god-modding master, like a level twenty monk. I want you guys to actually have to struggle and think.
