[@RedXCross] To compliment [@RyuShura]'s comment, a Warbrand is in part what defines a Warriors's will to fight on, embodied by some form of sense (for instance the scent displayed in Ryu's brief snippet,) which then defines that character. We expect that theme to be present in the character themselves, so as to further the plot concept. Due to the details of War (the antagonist), no Warrior would be granted a gun or rifle, because he considers such weaponry to be "cheating the glory of combat".
