yes but in some cases it can save your life. Cu Chulainn could've killed Emiya if he wasn't careful with his footwork, and his blocks. His forged blades weren't strong enough to defend against Gae Bolg. Kojiro couldn't defeat Saber straight on and relied on his footwork, and control of the higher ground to work Saber over rather then engage in a straight up contest of the sword despite his Swallow Technique. Chloe is a fairly talented warrior, and I'd be hesitant to call her experienced when compared to heroes from times long ago.
