How do zombies navigate the world? Can they see? What happens if their eyes rot out? Though he's athletic, his lanky figure give him the impression of being very skinny when he has clothes on. He at one point had jet black hair. After the Week of Hell, he acquired a white streak that's been expanding at an alarming rate. But perhaps most striking is the fact that a large portion of his face is a different color than the rest of his skin. Personality: Dimas comes at the new world with a dark sense of humor. He's a doctor in a world where everyone is sick, so he needs to to keep his sanity. Outwards, he comes across as very cold. He charges for every surgery in some way or another, and he's often extremely direct with his patients. Even if he was telling a pair of parents that their child had a week left to live, they would not see him shed a single tear. Callous though he may seem, he's affable. He's very polite and well-mannered, and can even be charming if he wants to be. Condition: Joe
Recreational Knowledge
Likes: Civilization. Researching the undead. Drugs. Books. Helping people. Dislikes: People who get banged up too much. Being interrupted while he's working. People who make the world less "civilized." Being the bearer of bad news. Running out of medical supplies. Hobbies: Dimas enjoys reading books. He likes both fiction and nonfiction. He also enjoys going jogging and practicing with his crossbow. Strengths: Dimas is an excellent doctor. The mere fact that he can function as one after the apocalypse is a testament to his skill. Dimas is extremely level-headed, and will not panic in any situation. Deep down he may or may not be very altruistic. Weaknesses: Wants to appear as strong and capable of protecting others, often at his own expense. Finds his work as a doctor extremely stressful at times. Has a really hard time sleeping. Theme Song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNZgaxaLXh0
Combat Ready
Weapon: Crossbow: An ultramodern crossbow Dimas made himself. It's main customization is the fact that it has three strings, allowing it to be loaded with three bolts at a time. The loading mechanism is a crank on the side, allowing bolts to be readied relatively fast. It still takes a while to prepare a shot, making it more of a long-range weapon. So it also has a scope (made from half of a pair of binoculars) and laser sight (made from a laser pointer.) The front has an attachment on which he can either put a bayonet (made from a combat knife and suited for caving in skulls) or a lighter (made from a lighter and suited for lighting napalm-coated bolts.) Scythe: A long, metal pole to which Dimas has fixed a large blade. The blade is a bit straighter than a standard scythe, and it's weighted differently. This is because it is not made for harvesting grain. Rather, it is made for eliminating undead from as far away as possible. The blade is equally good both at penetrating craniums and decapiting foes, though Dimas prefers not to let enemies get close enough for it to come to that. Chernabog: A pet project of Dr. D's. By combining his special ointment with tissues from several undead creatures in a meat grinder, he has created a blob-like creature. It's brain is made by combining that of a dog, some mutated rats, and a cow. Fiercely loyal to Dr. D, Chernabog takes the form of a mass of black ooze centered around a nucleus of grey matter. Chernabog will can digest more or less any organic matter that it comes into contact with, adding it to its mass. In practice it tends to stay at around the size of a small dog. Chernabog moves fairly slowly, so when travelling, Dr. D keeps it in a large pickle jar. Chunks of Chernabog can be removed, and have some semblance of life, though all they try to do is eat things before 'dying' after about five minutes. Chernabog can only be killed by destroying the nucleus at its core. Chernabog is also highly flammable. For some reason, Chernabog smells really, really good to Wasted individuals. To all others, it smells like old shoes. Powers: None. Techniques:Special Bolts: Dimas can create a wide variety of ammo for his crossbow. Explosive bolts, ones with anesthetic-filled syringes for heads, napalm coated bolts...Dimas usually prepares some ahead of time if he's going out to look for supplies or research subjects. Skills: Dimas is a very, very good doctor. Not only can he run a practice in a post-apocalyptic world, he can run a decent one. He's pretty okay at building things. Most of his medical equipment is stuff he's manufactured himself. He also has a working knowledge of chemistry, allowing him to make things like explosives and napalm provided he has the time and raw materials. Dimas avoids combat when he can, but he's quite aware that being able to fight is a necessity when a good chunk of his research consists of capturing/killing undead and mutant beasties for research. His primary weapon is his crossbow: He's capable of sniping targets accurate from 60 yards away so long as they aren't moving around a lot. He can wield his scythe without hurting himself, though at that point he'd rather just sick Chernabog on his assailant and run away. Dimas is very good at running away. He's pretty sneaky too. He can move quietly, and is good at finding hiding spots. Dimas has excellent reading comprehension, and easily learns skills from reading books. Gear: Dr. D's Special Ointment: A green salve that Dr. D makes from various chemicals and extracts from undead tissue samples. It does not infect you with the zombie disease. Instead, spreading it on wounds will anesthetize them, at the same time greatly speeding up the healing process. Small cuts and scrapes will heal in seconds. Larger wounds usually take a minute. Dimas's salve can heal a bullet wound in a bout an hour. Just remember to take out the bullet first. He can even use it to reattach severed limbs if you hold it to the stump and it's been less than ten minutes since it was severed. *Lab Coat: Dr. D has a black labcoat he wears when he does field work. It's actually made from several leather jackets, and has metal plates concealed in pockets at strategic points. It's light, but durable enough to offer more or less complete protection from zombie bites, and can block a bullet or two in a pinch. He uses the myriad pockets to store first-aid equipment Level: 1
The Story Behind the Man
Backstory: Dr. D's past is unknown. Whenever asked, he always gives a different story. It's doubtful he is an actual doctor, as he would have been 12 at the time of the week of hell. As far as anyone knows, one day he just wandered into Pallet Town and started a clinic. He's a damn good doctor, but he'll pretty much rob you for his services. Ambitions/Goals: He wants to cure the undead plague. Addiction/Mental Health: Dimas requires caffeine to function, and has quite the stockpile of coffee. For some bizarre reason the absolute madman actually prefers instant. He also smokes the post-apocalyptic plant called Devilgrass. Some people say it'll get you high, other people say that it's just the placebo effect. It smells like cinnomon when burned, though, which is nice.
