The Palmer family lived far from the nearest hospital, and so it was decided that when her mother went into birth they would have Maisy at their ranch. While the only nearby doctor was the ranch's veterinarian, her parents asked him if he could be the one to deliver Maisy. Despite his expertise being an entirely different field of study, the veterinarian had seen to that nothing had gone wrong, and Maisy was born a healthy baby. So healthy that Maisy was walking and talking at an early age, surprising many of her relatives. Since her family had stuck to ancient roots, Maisy was to be home schooled by the time she came of school age. The quality of her studies were no different than a public school student, but the only times Maisy was able to interact with kids her age is when the schools took field trips to the Palmer ranch. Her parents would allow Maisy to run around with the students until she tired out or if they needed her to help with the ranch, which she did plenty. Maisy was on the verge of being an expert horse rider, and she was known to wield a mean lasso. However, the world would have different plans for the young Maisy--a time commonly known as the end of the world. Some humans would seem to be cannibals, biting random people until they pulled away or killed on spot. Those bitten would break down in sickness, soon passing until they came back with the same cannibalistic attitude. Cities broke down into anarchy, but the Palmer family was relatively safe due to its far proximity from the centers of human activity. Life continued as normal for the Palmers, except without electricity and the occasional "Crazed," as Maisy's father called them. The Crazed would be fought off, killed and burned in order to protect the cattle that was one of the Palmers' food sources, and also to keep anyone on the ranch from turning into the mindless beasts. That was, until hell on earth came to the ranch. No one knew what brought them, but it was to be a struggle in vain. The Palmers and ranch hands attempted to fight back the horde, and a teenaged Maisy had to plead with her father to abandon their ancestral home for their own lives. Her father had eventually conceded, albeit angrily, and helped Maisy and her mother load the horses into the trailer. Those still living climbed into what vehicle they could and drove far from the ranch as a caravan, but the country folk weren't ready for life outside the ranch. Scavenging was rough in a world picked through by those who came before. Gas quickly ran dry, and the caravan had to resort to using their horses. A number of Crazed snagged a few of the ranch hands before--by pure luck and chance--the Palmers encountered one of the patrols from a place by the name of Lasthope. The patrols escorted the caravan to the makeshift town, and when they arrived, most were quickly put to work alongside a woman by the name of Betty Craft because of the skills they knew working on a ranch. Maisy, on the other hand, sought to join the Troopers. Fed up and with a desire to return to how everything once was, Maisy seeks to put the Crazed back where they belong: in the grave.
[sub][ ❇ ] S K I L L S[/sub]

• Ranching — Raised deep in the Oregon countryside, Maisy can handle herself--especially in rural environments--with superb horsemanship, particularly with a lasso. • Civilized — Her parents raised Maisy to be a good-natured child, and as a result she is unlikely to start trouble unless she has a reason to shove her boot up someone's ass. • Leadership — Growing up around her family's longtime business, Maisy has learned to take charge when needed, and perhaps might be a better leader than her father.
[sub][ ❇ ] F A M I L Y[/sub]

Father: Jackson Palmer — 55 years old — Alive Mother: Grace Palmer — 53 years old — Alive
