No thank you for pointing that out I mean for sure you could be a werewolf with demon magic or a vampire with beast magic.
note: that going to another side to learn their magic counts you as a rouge/traitor and your own species will seek to kill you. 

I never heard of them being able to use weapons before in all the things I watched or saw, they always were unable and also they have their claws and much higher strength when transformed. It's more of a balancing thing considering they wouldn't really need them.
