But, that implies that she has to have control over a male figure in order to get what she wants because, individually, she has no power. I'm pretty positive that, depending on the designated fantasy, woman had no rights. The term 'treated like property' simply means that the woman has no rights and that they are treated as such, i.e, a man in the relationship can say that they have ownership of their wife and it'd be absolutely, morally acceptable.
