Got ourselves a Robin analogue for our Batman analogue. Hell yeah. Intermediate Street Level
-------------------Basic Information------------------- Sidekick Name: Blackstar Civilian Name: David O'Rinn Origin City: Chicago, Illinois; Earth Hometown: Gotham City, New Jersey; Earth Sex: Male Race: Human (Caucasian) Height: 5'7 Weight: 136 pounds Age: 15 Birth Date: September 24th, 2004 Costumed Appearance: Blackstar's costume consists of a black combat suit, armored with metal gauntlets and boots as well as a lightweight metal chest plate which provides protection without restricting the wearer's movement. On the left breast of the armor is a black star emblem. A black utility belt hold all of his gadgets, and he wears a black gas mask under black goggles. His dark brown hair is frequently combed neatly to the side, dark brown eyes often dart away from eye contact, and his skin is fair and without a blemish (something he's grateful for). Most often, he wears preppy clothes, such as suits or sweater vests. Costumed Personality: Blackstar contrasts with his mentor, being energetic and playful. He throws sarcastic jabs at his enemies, attempting to make them slip up but occasionally hoping that they'll crack wise with him during combat. When he needs to be quiet, he will be, and can be quite intimidating when he takes his job seriously. If anyone he loves is ever in danger, he'll drop his wisecracking persona entirely and become a terrifying presence, rivaling even his mentor in the intimidation factor. Civilian Personality: David is much more reserved than Blackstar, being an awkward and polite book nerd to most who know him. He frequently cows down to any and all intimidation, never standing up for himself and appearing to be a massive push-over. However, when he sees someone else being put down his heroic instincts take over, and he'll put himself in the line of fire to defend the person. Appearing to be quite shy, David never engages people in conversation unless approached first, and can often be found in some quiet corner reading a book. -------------------Abilities------------------- -Skills: David is a natural acrobat, able to perform feats of agility such as multiple flips in succession, cartwheels, wall runs, etc., as well as more simple things such as leaping from rooftop to rooftop. David is skilled in hand-to-hand combat, trained in various martial arts by his mentor but most proficient in Sambo, as well as using his bo staff in combat. David has basic first aid knowledge, able to tend to minor wounds like cuts and bruises. David is proficient in lockpicking, knowledge kept from his time on the streets. -Powers: N/A -Gadgets: Blackstar's equipment is similar to Grim's, though much more limited. His gauntlets lack the built-in features, being just normal gauntlets with nothing special about them. His boots have retractable spikes that can be used to keep traction on icy terrain. His mask acts as both a voice modulator and a gas mask, making him sound much older than he is, and the goggles can zoom in, record, and provide night vision or heat opticals. Built into the left side of the frame is a small but powerful flashlight. Blackstar's utility belt has four pouches, three in the front and one on the left hand side, and a holster on the right hand side. The first pouch carries a basic first aid equipment, such as rubbing alcohol and bandages. The second carries lockpicks and an electric keycracker. The third carries police-grade zipties. The fourth carries a few loops of rope-wire, and are placed next to seven small throwing blades made of titanium. Finally, the holster contains a grappling hook, used for scaling large buildings or gaps too large for him to leap across. -Weapons: Some of David's gadgets double as weapons, and he has a expendable bo stuff capable of emitting over 5000 volts of electricity. Aside from that, there are various guns and blades around the Kasimir household. Civilian Occupation: High school student. -------------------Biography------------------- Character History/Origin: David O'Rinn was born to two trapeze artists in a traveling circus. Due to genetics, he was born naturally small and agile, perfect for joining the family business as an acrobat. Of course, that's exactly what he did. From age 4 to 9, David's life consisted of traveling from city to city and living amongst exotic looking people with exotic abilities. This all ended one fateful day during one of the circus's trips to Gotham City, where the tightrope his parents were walking on snapped and they fell to their deaths. In shock, David ran away in tears, ending up in an abandoned apartment complex and spending the night there. The next morning, he was unable to find his way back to the circus, and the day after that it moved on, leaving him stranded in the city. Without a home or family and unwilling to go to an orphanage, David began to steal and beg to survive, learning valuable skills like how to traverse the cityscape and how to pick locks. At 13, David had his first run in with the vigilante Grim, who found him attempting to remove the tires from her vehicle. She told him to scram, and he did so. A week later, he met her again, and she put him in an orphanage which he easily escaped from. Three weeks later, they met once more whilst he was running across the city rooftops for fun. For a second time, she put him in an orphanage. Finally, they met a fourth time two weeks later, after David dispatched a mugger using nothing but acrobatics and streetfighting. Grim took the boy in, seeing that he had potential (but mostly just to keep him from being a recurring annoyance). Though flat out refusing to train him to be her sidekick at first, David eventually managed to convince her, and for a year and a half she trained him in the use of martial arts, weaponry, and various gadgets. Finally, a month after his 15th birthday, she decided he was ready, and took him on as her sidekick, and they've been partners since. Optional Information: David has only been active as Blackstar for a little over half a year. -------------------Important People------------------- Nemesis: Many.
