❆ Quilo ❆
As soon as Quilo felt the air against his scaly skin, he knew he was in some way connected to it. Despite his confusion, a thrill surged through him as he pushed at the remaining shell of his egg with his head. Frosty shards fell away, until he burst out, nearly tripping over a rock in his excitement. Steadying himself, he peered through the darkness of the cavern. He couldn't wait to get out... once he found the way out, that was. The wyvern scampered around in a clumsy half-run, half-bounce, spreading his wings to glide every now and again. At a familiar sound, he stopped and listened, staring down a tunnel filled with jagged shapes sticking out from the walls and floor - crystals. Right at the end was an egg, purple and jewel-like, splintering just as his own had done. He ducked as a spike-covered wing pummelled through the shell, sending fragments hurtling through the air and clattering to the ground. When he looked up, he saw he was no longer alone. Eyes widening, he bounded towards the rather startled-looking hatchling. "Heyyy! Want to play? Let's head out! C'mon, the way out can't be far! Let's see who gets to it first!"

✧ Petronia ✧
Smash. Smash. Smash. With each blow from Petronia's stony wings and the pointed gem on her forehead, the crack in the egg's shell widened. Finally, it shattered outwards, sending the hatchling stumbling into an unfamiliar world. Without her protective casing, the first thing the little dragon felt was vulnerability. She crawled back, yelping at a sudden sting in her foot as she stepped on a piece of her egg. The next thing she registered was an odd sensation thrumming through her body, the flesh around her crystalline protrusions tingling. There was someone else in this cavern. Someone like her. But that didn't mean she could trust them. Something in her reacted to the darkness, and the gems jutting from her body gave off a soft light. Great, she thought with a jolt of panic. Now others in here would be able to easily find her. She had no idea how to dim the glow. She didn't even know how she'd done it in the first place. Peering from behind a crystal formation, she cried out, drawing back from the white blur that barrelled towards her. Whatever it was seemed ready to pounce at any moment. She lashed with her claws, earning a shriek. The other dragon skittered to the side, staring down in shock at the blood dripping from a row of gashes on his shoulder. "Get lost," Petronia snarled, spitting out the words. She scurried away, trying to hide behind another cluster of crystals jutting from the ground, nerves taut as she kept alert to any signs of approaching threats.
