Esperanza's family is kind of infamous due to its fervent worship of death, its past cannibalistic practices/kidnapping of random folk that got too close and ritualistically sacrifices them, and for generally being a strange bunch in general. They're very reclusive, but tend to welcome most people who want to join (save for immortals, as they're kind of off put by people that death itself refuses to take), and often send some members out to try and convert other people or for business or otherwise. Magic wise, the necromancer gene tends to crop up more frequently among women of the Ciervo line, or, if it does appear in a man, it tends to be weaker. Although that's probably not helped by the fact that they don't really train any male necromancers that they have, haha. Does all that help?
