William and Betty Ingersoll were blessed to even have one child- the odds completely against them. A couple in their early 40s, doctor after doctor told them to search for other means of having a child- adoption, surrogacy, etc. Betty and William were determined and both highly goal-oriented. William Ingersoll, a prominent criminal lawyer who worked in the city of Chicago, does not stop until he has won ever case and the bad guy is the one going to jail. Betty Ingersoll is a doctor and teacher at the Universty of Chicago Hospital. She specializes in neurology and has become well-known around the country. Both of the Ingersolls are career motivated individuals, which is why the idea of having kids came late in life. 

After many years of trying, they were finally able to concieve- many thought it a miracle considering Betty was 41 years old, but 9 months later on a rainy day in March, Cassidy Jane Ingersoll was born. The Ingersolls quickly passed on their hard-work and determination to their daughter, who was now on track to being valedictorian of her school.
