If Beatrix's hearing is good she might hear the word "Elaine". Mergoux stumbles along, leaning heavily on Beatrix and gritting her teeth from the agonizing plasma burns and laser wounds. Parts of her metal chestplate have seemingly fused to her skin and the smell of burnt flesh lingers around her*
