The Unmanned weapon systems, and the robotics and mechanized research program was conceptualized and made to remove the human factor in warfare and conflict, reducing casualties on the battlefield, and increase efficiency of warfare. Soldiers that don't need sleep, water, or food. Soldiers that could carry on after being shot, and have all the equipment built-in, further increasing the flexibility and effectiveness of such a soldier. The "Future Soldier" joint weapons project was a significant leap into the future of mechanized warfare. The project involved several other countries, hundreds of engineers, several military test pilots, and millions of Euros. The "Future Soldier" was to be encased in a suit, that was both chemically, biologically, and radioactively protected; it would have three different prototypes, firstly, the clunky Mk.1, clunky in the sense that it was bulky, big, and not very maneuverable, secondly, the Mk.2 it had powerful jets that aided in bounding hundreds of meters, the suit was also a lot more flexible, maneuverable, and it had space to fit several utility tools, finally, the Mk.3, which featured a prototype active optical camouflage, and thermal shielding, making the suit practically invisible to both the human eye and thermal vision. The A.O.C. on the Mk.3 had one flaw, the camouflage is slightly distorted, usually, it wouldn't matter at range, but up close it's a lot more noticeable. Germany Re-armed itself and improved its economy. It aided the Nationalist forces of Spain during the Spanish civil war against the Republican forces, starting from 1936 and ending with Nationalist victory in 1939. The Second World War did not start until 1940 – one year after the Spanish civil war – when the USSR realized that there was no opposing force in Europe pushed on to Poland, Czechoslovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Serbia, and Finland. The Germans prepared for the imminent Soviet push, gathering allies around Europe, the first to respond to the call of action were the Scandinavians and Austrians. The majority of countries did not want to go to war, Germany appealed to the closest nations in terms of culture, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Austria, fearing the looming threat of armed occupation took up arms, Britain, France, Italy, Portugal, and Spain provided supplies to help the alliance; the Dutch, Swiss, and Belgians, refused to join the conflict and stayed neutral, but provided volunteers to provide support, and humanitarian aid, this was the beginning of the Germanic Foreign Legion. Eventually the French, Italians, Americans, and British would join the war in 1942 as the war escalated to its peak. 1943, the combined allied forces prepared for the boldest move during the war, Operation Blitzkrieg. It was an offensive that would use paratroopers, armored battalions, mechanized troops, heavy artillery, amphibious landings, strategic bombings, and shock tactics to break the stalemate in Poland, Finland, and Czechoslovakia. A lightning strike against the soviet defense lines, encircling and advancing towards the “Inner Curtain” as the allies called it. It was successful in completely liberating Finland, partially effective in Poland, and retook Czechoslovakia and relieved the local defense forces in Bulgaria, Romania, and Hungary. The advance was halted during the winter and resumed in the summer, heavy fighting in Ukraine and Poland grew to a stalemate, amphibious landings via the Black Sea was considered too risky as port cities such as Sevastopol and Odessa were equipped with coastal guns, it was the same situation in the Baltics Sea. By 1944 the renowned German physicist Albert Einstein was approached by the Allied Command to help with the Manhattan project, he refused, Wernher Von Braun, however, accepted the offer seeing an opportunity to explore his field. By the winter of 1944, Albert finally agreed to help with research, providing the key component to a nuclear reaction. Wernher Von Braun conceptualized and helped construct the delivery system. 1945, the Soviets counter attack, pushing all the way to the weapon launch site before any of the Documents could be burned. Wernher Von Braun and Albert Einstein evade soviet capture. The USSR issues the ultimatum of surrender after the capture of the Nuclear missile program. Conditions of surrender is as follows: Cease aggression against the Soviet Union, full surrender of Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Finland and Romania; cease armed occupation of these countries. The Allies agreed while building another nuclear arsenal. The Finnish forces never fully surrendered, resisting against Soviet occupation. Fast forward to 1950, Finland finally earns its independence, the UN is formed by a handful of nations, including the United Germanic Republic, formed by the original alliance of Germany, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Austria during the tension filled cease fire of the cold war. The Five nations have fought for freedom and democracy, helping each other, and dying for one another in the Second World War, which officially ended in a non-aggression treaty. The proximity of the Republic forced them to modernize and mobilize a military force. This was made possible by drawing on industrial power and economic success abroad. The member nations of the UN also provided volunteers for the Germanic Foreign Legion, and French Foreign Legion. 1962-1964, Tensions escalate as the European and Cuban missile crisis begins. The Soviets, aiding their Cuban ally, attempted to supply them with nuclear missiles, the confrontation in the U.S. lasted for thirteen days. Afterwards, in 1964, the Soviets attempt again, this time positioning mobile launch platforms in Poland, Saint Petersburg, and Hungary. The U.N. and the Warsaw Pact stood off in Europe for twenty eight days, ending on Christmas day, December 25th , 1964. 1955-1975, the war for Vietnam, Laos, Korea and Cambodia begin. The United States and the Germanic Republic intervene. The Germanic force consisted of foreign legion and Germanic troops. The battle for all four nations were completely lost, as Germanic forces were culture shocked with the new terrain, the U.S. helped sustain the fight, however, public outcry for the wars to stop prevented the U.S. from continuing, The Germanic Republic had already pulled its forces out of both Korea and Vietnam by 1953. A military embarrassment, and costly defeat, the Republic vowed for it to never happen again. At the same time, the space race was reaching its height, Wernher Von Braun and Republic scientists attempt to beat the Soviets to the moon, only to be outdone by Legacy, the Megacorporation that invented Radar during the 1930’s. 1999-2017, The United Germanic Republic, along with The French Republic, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States, act as the U.N. and NATO peacekeeping force, providing humanitarian and military aid to countries that are in need of it. Africa’s war torn countries are just one example of the need for the Peacekeeping force. The U.N. has also imposed a sanction confiscating all Nuclear weaponry, most countries complied. The Soviet Union collapsed, The United Germanic Republic provided whatever aid they could during the trying times, however, the rest of the U.N. remained mostly apathetic to the Ex-soviet nations who were trying to re-establish themselves as independent countries. Before the rift incident, the Republic was one of the most militarized countries in the world boasting a military tradition that dates back to the Napoleonic war. The republic is one of the major peacekeeping forces aside from the United States at the time. Its foreign legion is disciplined and well trained, the main force equally so, their emphasis on mechanized warfare and combined arms makes them a force to be reckoned with in the air, land, and sea.
