The source of the pain had subsided, but something dark seemed to have come into her. As she looked at the bodies of Elissa and Anastasia on the ground, she expected herself to react with horror. She had read many tales and she knew what would happen next--she would descend into a fit of madness and rage, begging and screaming for her friends to return. She had known Anastasia for only a day, but Elissa for a considerably longer time. She would find sanity in her rage and her sorrow. But Aravis felt nothing. It was as if her emotions had been ripped and torn from her. She knew that she ought to have been panicked, but she didn't even feel calm. She felt nothing at all. Lifting her arm, Aravis discovered a lengthy gash, enough to cause any person to scream in pain. But had she not seen the blood, she would not have noticed it. She had become entirely numb to the world. Love and happiness, sorrow and despair...None of it moved her. The storyteller could not feel. In the Twelve Daggers' Tavern, Edgard's mind has changed as well. While he survived a fate that had killed many others, a familiar voice whispered in his ear, almost tauntingly. "I'm afraid you've gone quite mad, mon amour," the voice purred, almost like velvet. She moved into his line of sight, covered in the blood and guts that had engulfed every surface in the tavern. But beyond that, she looked exactly as she did the day they met. "I only regret I was not the one to break your mind," Alisanne said with a sigh. For her, that small display of emotion spoke volumes. She was always a quiet evil. Oddly enough, Harlianne and Sirena have developed no new delusions. Perhaps they had great mental fortitude and strength. Or more likely, they were already damaged. Harlianne had a distant glint to her eyes as she rose to her feet, coughing. Taking in the scene, she saw no signs of life at the docks. Aravis and the others were too far out for her to see. Perhaps you would like to give it a name. While you may be tempted to suggest Hell, Purgatory is a far better description. Something continues to draw you in, beckoning for you to walk more and more. It may take you through dense jungle or continue along a path in the beach. Eventually, others become apparent to you. There are those you may recognize, as well as complete strangers. The following individuals are on the island: Jon’s Ex Captain, Jon, the four slaves in Jon's crew, Elissa, Édouard, Anastasia, Isaac, Millicent, Jean, Alice, members of Édouard's crew, Catalina, Mr. Alucard, a witch, and others who you have not yet encountered. The longer you walk, the thicker the crowd appears to become. Eventually, you reach a ledge that overlooks a lake. Something about the lake calls to you. Jump. Septima, the witch, is familiar to some of you. She does not halt in her steps, walking until she falls through the air into the lake. There is no sense of fear or urgency, but of course, she is already dead--as are you. What could possibly harm you now? It still beckons to you, something beneath the lake. It seems to whisper promises of everything you have ever desired. Perhaps it can even restore your life.
