The Raccoon Incident was a days-long ordeal that eventually culminated in the nuclear destruction of Raccoon City, with all trace of its 100,000 citizens decimated in the wake of Umbrella's scandal. The T-Virus and G-Virus were mistakenly unleashed on the city via the sewage and water systems, infecting hundreds and eventually thousands over the span of a month (August-September. Umbrella Pharmaceuticals, a multi-billion dollar leader in Big Pharma, held Raccoon City hostage with it's experiments, due to the company's philanthropy and financing of public infrastructure. The leaders of Raccoon City were on Umbrella's payroll, and the research technicians and employees kept silent as Umbrella committed heinous (not to mention illegal) experiments under the guise of virus research. The setting will be familiar to fans of the RE series - Raccoon City is our playground in this RP.
This RP takes place over the span of 6 days (09/24 ~ 09/30) meaning this RP has a foreseeable END. The RP will stop once we reach September 30th. On September 30th, the city is going to be nuked and that won't be changing in this RP, but the decisions you make leading up to the Sterilization of Raccoon City can make some difference and perhaps even ensure the survival of others, also trapped in RC.
-1. Your characters are trapped in Raccoon City, with thousands of zombies surrounding whatever shelter you chose to hole yourself up in. There are still [Survivors] out there - will you risk your own neck to save them or say "Fuck them" and get out of RC as soon as possible?
-2. Perma-death is obviously a thing in this RP, but will generally be reserved for players who drop out of the RP.
-3. Your goal is simple: EVACUATE RACCOON CITY BY SEPTEMBER 30th.
-4. Teamwork is key to surviving the zombie apocalypse.
There are no traditional "Stats" in this RP, but you will have to keep track of your own HP [Hit Points] as well as how much [AMMO] you have left.

-[06/16/1998:] 'The Raccoon Weekly' publishes a story related to the ongoing murders in the Arklay mountains. It describes the sightings of vicious wild pack dogs in the forest and warns the public of their dangerousness.[8]
-[07/24/1998:] Mansion Incident, the Arklay Manor and Laboratory was demolished after a self-destruction of the complex was initiated from within. T-Virus escapes into city.
-[08/17/1998:] T-Virus infected zombies and other monstrosities were now prowling the city, isolated reports of a "cannibal disease" in RC hospitals littered the newspapers. The media acted slowly and did not question Umbrella's monopoly over the city infrastructure.
-[09/01/1998:] Thomas, an elderly waste disposal employee gets infected in early September and begins craving human flesh.
-[09/15/1998:] Umbrella calls in mercenary corps UBCS to dispose of the zombies and other BOW's rampaging through the city.
-[09/20/1998:] Chief Irons tipped off by Dr. Birkin that agents were moving through RC's sewer system with explosives.
-[09/23/1998:] U.S.S. Alpha Team, led by agent HUNK, arrived at Birkin's facility, killing Dr. William Birkin accidentally to retrieve the [T-Virus] & [G-Virus]. The injured Birkin infected himself with a remaining G-Virus sample.
-[09/24/1998:] Patrons at Apple Inn, some of whom were infected by the T-Virus, were holed up in a local hotel run by a paranoid owner. The owner installed a new security system recently which became triggered during [The Outbreak] and locked the guests within the Apple Inn.
-[09/24/1998:] Robert Kendo is providing asylum to scared civilians in his store, KENDO GUN SHOP. No more firearms left.
-[09/24/1998:] Patrons at Jack's Bar receive a radio transmission from the RPD before the signal cut off. The transmission told them to hole up and bar any entrances and wait for the RPD's help.
-[09/25/1998:] Last evacuation of citizens. Those who did not manage to get out by this date are trapped inside Raccoon City.
-[09/26/1998:] Raccoon City Hospital is overtaken and cordoned off from the rest of the city.
-[09/27/1998:] The city collapses and the zombie horde overwhelm Raccoon City. Crashed and abandoned vehicles as well as dead burning bodies littered the streets. Many buildings burned uncontrollably as the RC Fire Department first became overwhelmed by city-wide infernos (and then the firefighters themselves becoming infected.)
Hordes of zombies filled the streets and overran the last remnants of the Raccoon City Police Department is lost to the zombie outbreak after a battle in the city streets on the night of September 27th.

Robert Kendo, the owner of the gunshop, gave away most of his inventory to civilians fleeing the city. Survivors escaping the uncontrollable fires and zombie threat managed to board up inside the gun shop. Kendo himself is still armed, and is providing refuge for the unarmed. A small stash of ammunition was found hidden under the counters, Robert Kendo's personal supply, no doubt. For now, we patched up the broken window with some large wooden boards. How long will the wood keep out the zombies pounding on the boards, you wonder.
[JACK'S BAR:]
Bar-and-grill that is currently sheltering the friendly bar staff, as well as some stranded patrons. Although J's Bar is stocked full of food and emergency supplies, the patrons are landlocked among a sea of undead. The survivors at Jack's received a radio transmission from the RPD, so they have the means to communicate across the city, but the last transmission ended abruptly. Not to mention, it sounds like the ceiling is creaking...is there someone (or something) else in this bar?

How did your character get stuck in Raccoon City?:
Ceder has lived in Racoon City all her life. Despite that she’d been incredibly estranged from her parents since she was very little. They were always working as they were important researchers for a large pharmaceutical company based somewhere out of the city. As a result they spent almost no time looking after her, often leaving her with friends or hiring people to look after her.
She attended high school in Raccoon City, struggling to meet friends, often embarrassing herself trying to fit in with others. Art and video games, especially those with powerful female protagonists and outrageous weapons, were a great focus and comfort for her.
A little over a month before the outbreak Ceder called her parents, asking if there was anyway she could help them or get involved with their work. It was a move made out of desperation but Ceder was surprised when they offered her a job as a clinical test subject. There was a tremendous amount of paperwork to fill out and a constantly reinforced air of secrecy.
For 30 days Ceder was kept isolated in a room and given regular injections of something, then ran through various tests at equally regular intervals. Her health rapidly began to degrade. She grew weaker, began experiencing headaches, body pains, and severe nausea. However around the third week her health improved somewhat and evened out. Not getting any better, but seemingly resistant to getting any worse.
Ceder became eager to leave, growing fearful of her condition and the tests being done to her. However those performing the tests barred her from leaving even when it was her agreed upon time to do so. For a time Ceder remained trap, until a disruption at the facility allowed her to escape and flee into the city. By the time she got outside and changed out of the patient gown she'd been stuck in Raccoon City had turned into a nightmare and she still felt sick...

During his final survey of the train's components, Will discovered that one of his coworkers accidentally sliced through a major power cable in the circuitboard.
[Will:] "Shit, what a mess. How could someone miss this huge slice in the main cable? This job is gonna take some of my time." It was well past midnight by time his shift ended, but Will was a single bachelor and did not have other obligations like family to slow his work ethic down. The metro heading towards South Raccoon Station would be out of service until tomorrow morning if Will did not stay overnight to perform the repairs.
This act of kindness would eventually be Will Sampson's undoing; as he worked late into the night and into the morning of Sept. 24th --reconnecting cables and performing standard tests to ensure the functioning of Umbrella's precious public transport system -- his work was interrupted by shrill, pained screams from a male, coming from the downtown district. In the distance, Will heard a series of sirens, followed promptly by gunshots. Picking up his tools and leftover cable, Will decides he must head towards the direction of the scream and police sirens...

Bigby lives in Raccoon City, on the outskirts of it anyway. His profession of choice wouldn't exactly thrive in the inner-city anyway. But he got stuck in the city when he went in to get some shopping for materials. His pick-up truck had been hit and the frame completely snapped behind the cab. So instead of walking aimlessly he started for his favorite bar.

How did your character get stuck in Raccoon City?:
Ceder has lived in Racoon City all her life. Despite that she’d been incredibly estranged from her parents since she was very little. They were always working as they were important researchers for a large pharmaceutical company based somewhere out of the city. As a result they spent almost no time looking after her, often leaving her with friends or hiring people to look after her.
She attended high school in Raccoon City, struggling to meet friends, often embarrassing herself trying to fit in with others. Art and video games, especially those with powerful female protagonists and outrageous weapons, were a great focus and comfort for her.
A little over a month before the outbreak Ceder called her parents, asking if there was anyway she could help them or get involved with their work. It was a move made out of desperation but Ceder was surprised when they offered her a job as a clinical test subject. There was a tremendous amount of paperwork to fill out and a constantly reinforced air of secrecy.
For 30 days Ceder was kept isolated in a room and given regular injections of something, then ran through various tests at equally regular intervals. Her health rapidly began to degrade. She grew weaker, began experiencing headaches, body pains, and severe nausea. However around the third week her health improved somewhat and evened out. Not getting any better, but seemingly resistant to getting any worse.
Ceder became eager to leave, growing fearful of her condition and the tests being done to her. However those performing the tests barred her from leaving even when it was her agreed upon time to do so. For a time Ceder remained trap, until a disruption at the facility allowed her to escape and flee into the city. By the time she got outside and changed out of the patient gown she'd been stuck in Raccoon City had turned into a nightmare and she still felt sick...

How long will the wood keep out the zombies pounding on the boards, you wonder.

I don't know why I find this interesting. Resident Evil is something I've played and the games I don't care for but this RP just beckons to me. It is quite odd. Hmmm decisions decisions.... Quick question, are bow and arrow allowed?

After finishing up strong for the week, a couple of buds caught wind from a long chain of whispers that Raccoon City's College was throwing a sick party on the weekend! Keith was dragged along on an hour long road trip with his friends, chattering the whole way too. Of course, since they were going to probably be staying there, Keith mused that grabbing a few picture of the city wouldn't be too bad.
While he an a few others were worrying about the disease running rampant, the others assured them that they would be fine and began teasing Keith and the other over eating them up, making disgusting slurping noises.
Eventually, the quartet managed to arrive at Raccoon City, lucky enough to avert running into any of those infected people they heard about. This earned Keith even more jabs, claiming that he was just making a mountain out of a molehill. It wasn't that hard to locate the apartments where the whole shebang was going to - music was being blasted and myriads of other college students were partying out in the streets and on the roofs... heck, some windows were wide open, exposing the chatter that went on inside.
Oho, they were definitely getting in on this action.

... after getting blasted at the party, Keith groaned, ended up waking up... on a table? He didn't... just how drunk did he get? Ugh, his head was killing him... wiping the drool off his slobbering mouth, he could only ponder on what circumstances lead him here and how he got here. Looking around, he found no familiar faces and shoved his hand into his pocket, praying he still had his fake ID.

On a side note I have to say I'm glad I'm not the only one who remembers Resident Evil Outbreak. I LOVE those games.

How did your character get stuck in Raccoon City:
Bigby lives in Raccoon City, on the outskirts of it anyway. His profession of choice wouldn't exactly thrive in the inner-city anyway. But he got stuck in the city when he went in to get some shopping for materials. His pick-up truck had been hit and the frame completely snapped behind the cab. So instead of walking aimlessly he started for his favorite bar.Slot 1: empty

I've played...pretty much all of the RE games. I've only ever beaten...6? The one in africa? (I punched a rock! Grrr! lmao) And I beat one where you got to pick umbrella soldiers...I was mainly the stealthy guy...

1 (ds version),2 (but died after i passed the weapons shop), 4 (might not be horror to some but the ambience, soundtrack, story, and combat system makes the game one of the best ive played yet), 5, 6, Outbreak, code veronica, and umbrella cronicles.
Any other games i didnt play, I know the story or watch a walkthrough of it. So i basically got a majority of the games down.

Rik was laying on the bed, his belt tightened around his right arm, a syringe laying on his left side. A pink hairpin danced on the fingers of his left hand just above his head. Every time he thought about going down that path again that was the only thing that pulled him back into the light.

Really dark first post, and I mean that as a compliment.
I like the heavy tone you set, and the fact that you gave Rikard clear weaknesses and deficiencies in his character.
Post is also good length, since it gives the other players a lot to work with.

RE5, which was more of an action game than a horror game, but oh well ;P
Btw, I'm looking for more people to start in [Kendo's Gun Shop] to even out the players across Raccoon City.

Everyone starts off with [HP: 100/100].
I should have made that clearer in the OOC, will update that under in the [Combat System] heading.
Your max HP may change when we raid the RPD for weapons.
Rule of thumb: Heavier Weapon = Less max HP

A person would survive barely five minutes with both arteries in the legs so messed up. It didn't help the persons eyes were red tinged and milky like the dead.

Kudos for retaining some realism and biology in your post. It's true that a severed artery (particularly the femoral artery) usually results in rapid death from blood loss. Many don't even make it to the hospital before dying (although Raccoon Hospital is swarmed with rapidly decomposing corpses, so I wouldn't suggest going there anyway.)
Suspension of disbelief is important even in a fictional setting like Raccoon City.

Very memorable intro posts guys. Jack's Bar is a bit crowded, but fortunately we don't need to spend much time in the Sanctuaries before moving onto other goals/locations.
