[@BKburke] As a faction, the Gashathi ARE OP. There is no denying it. However, as I only have a singular ship and I can hardly produce any other big capitals for my cause, I want to strike a balance by making me a one-hit-wonder. There is no atom bunker to retreat to, no second fleet to help me. It's just one gigantic mothership between me and the cold vacuum of space. Basically I put all my eggs in one basket, and I'm flailing that absket around inside a hurricane whilst standing on top of a moving train. [@Starwhip] Also, I just realised you meant 5% as the remaining damage. Lol sry its a bit late here. My shield in Star Wars terms is more of particle shield rather than a ray shield, some of the laser would be initially absorbed by the shield (but the shiled is primarily against kinetic attacks and not energy attacks), and the rest would be enough to cause damage to the hull. I would say around 10% of the initial power goes to wasee on the shield, but the remaining 5% yield of 22.5 megatons is still enough to melt a lot of plates together. But you have to take into consideration that the energy it regenerates will be fed back directly into the shield. So the longer your laser stays on target, the less damage it will do. Unless of course, it melts the plates so fast that they cease to function bfore powering the shield up. In which case, we are already talking about a death star laser firing at my ship, and not some random old destroyer or cruiser. Edit: I am open to criticism. Weird things happen when you only take the desired half of a much bigger NS.
