Biography: Kait, full name Kaitlyn Keller, was born to a prostitute mother in some seedy wasteland pleasure town. She never knew her father, and neither did her mother, as he could have been one of the hundreds of different drifter, traders, and raiders that were the towns clientele. When Kait was very young her mother died of a chem overdose, leaving Kait to be raised by the other hookers. It was a hard life, but Kait was reasonably safe and happy. As Kait reached puberty, however, and the pimp that her surrogate mothers all worked for started to eye the girl, Kait realized that it was time for her to leave the nest, as it were, and try to make it on her own.

Kait decided to make her living as a scavenger, bringing in tech, weapons, scrap, and chems that she found out in the wasteland to sell to whoever would buy. Lacking physical strength or combat ability, Kait learned to survive on her wits and guile, and no small amount of luck. However it seemed her luck ran out one day when she came across a group of hostile raider while out scavenging. Kait was forced to flee into a nearby metro tunnel in order to lose the bandits, only to quickly find herself cornered by a pack of ravenous feral dogs.

Just as Kait was facing down her final moments before becoming a literal dog's dinner, she was saved by an unexpected arrival. A giant of a man emerged from the darkness, wielding a large metal pipe as an improvised weapon, and fought off the dogs, driving them away and saving her life. The man turned out to be a Super Mutant, but unlike any Super Mutant that Kait had ever seen before. He was non-violent, and even when he had driven off the dogs to save her, he had tried to limit the amount of pain he'd inflicted. Kait would eventually come to call him Sage.

Sage was called weak and driven out by his Super Mutant brethren after his pacifist tendencies became apparent. Wishing to avoid conflict wherever possible, he'd taken to hiding his mutant appearance under heavy concealing clothing. He was also remarkably soft spoken for his size, due to a mutation of his larynx making it painful for him to speak much.

Alone, out in the unforgiving wasteland, it would have been difficult for a man like Sage to survive long, even with his size and strength. Similarly, Kait had nearly met her end that day, and so she decided that it would be best for both of them to stay together. Her street smarts would cover for his ignorance of the wasteland's perils, and his size would cover for her own physical deficiencies. And so, since that fateful day, Kait and Sage have worked together. A fiery little girl, and her gentle giant companion.
