She was starting to regret entering in that damn raffle. It sounded like a good idea at the time. Getting away from school and stress and just hanging out getting her tan on for the next ten days. As she stood on the tarmac, staring at the small private plane they were to take, Madelynn was starting to regret her decision. She bit her bottom lip and adjusted her heavy duffle bag on her shoulder. Exhaling a heavy breath, Madelynn started walking up to the plane, her anxiety flaring, the closer she got. "You can do this. You can do this. You'll be fine." Madelynn closed her eyes and repeated the phrases over and over in her head. As she walked across the black tarmac, she could feel the heat from it practically suffocating her. Again, she exhaled and continued until she reached the stairs. She didn't stop. Madelynn kept going until she was inside the plane. Once she was inside, she calmed a little, and noticed the flight attendant. A girl she was sure the male passengers would enjoy. Madelynn immediately felt the cool air inside the plane against her legs. She wore a pair high waisted, denim shorts that were frayed at the hems. An asymmetrical crop top, the color of red wine covered her torso. Well, all except the thin strip of her stomach in the front. On her feet, were black and grey colored Nike shoes. Madelynn pulled her auburn hair over her shoulder to allow the air to hit the back of her neck. As she did, she looked around and saw someone else was already on the plane. She looked so familiar. What was her name? She squinted her eyes as if it would help her remember. Apparently it did, because she did remember. Everyone called her Jack. She offered a friendly smile to the girl, but that was all. "I'll take that." The pretty flight attendant said cheerfully as she placed a hand on the strap of her bag, startling her. Madelynn smiled and nodded, letting the bag slide off of her shoulder and into the woman's hands. She then went and found herself an aisle seat near the back. Moments later, the flight attendant came back and handed her a drink. Madelynn stared at the drink, then up at the woman. She had a wide grin. Madelynn smiled and shrugged, accepting the drink. "It's 5 o'clock somewhere, right?" Hopefully the alcohol would calm her nerves a little bit. How the hell they knew her favorite drink was Run and Coke, was beyond her. She wasn't going to argue though, and took a long drink from the straw provided. It was perfect.
