I'm 28 and I've been RPing off and on since I was 12.
👉 It would have been non-stop if only I hadn't been hurt too many times along the way. 😔 Nowadays I'm over it and have been back in the swing like the old days. I'm trying to keep it that way! 😁 But sometimes I still get stressed and anxious and need to have a break. I will tell you though, if that happens!

Pearl Black is the daughter of a blacksmith who grew up to be a swordswoman. She joined a rebellion against the king/queen of Demorion* and she lives in an outlaw camp. So she's free to dress as she does. She wants to train others in swordplay but she's forced to do the more important task of making weapons. At this time in her life she's really angry and depressed. But she doesn't drink. She just works, trains, and fights. Occasionally goes riding on her horse. 

*Demorion is an unmagical, medieval european kingdom by the sea. It is small but prosperous and powerful enough. However, things have been going badly for the royal family for the past 6 years.

First, the heirs to the kingdom were murdered from least nearly to highest. It went unnoticed at first. The king himself was poisoned, followed by the remaining nearest heirs. Since no heirs could be found, his queen assumed the throne temporarily. Finally, it was discovered that a missing, highranking heir was still alive. He came along and married the queen. Then he had her executed and courted the eldest princess--Ferona. He has been uncovered as an imposter by now and possibly the one to order all the assassins. But his wife, Queen Ferona doesn't seem to want him killed until it is proven. Or until her mother is exonerated. Now It isn't clear, by law, whether he had the right to have her executed or not.

Alright so this is despicable and no one is happy. And even if they get rid of him, they will be left with Ferona. Maybe by the time we start this rp, that's already happened. But Ferona is cold and vain and cruel and strange too. No one knows why she married a man who had been married to her mother first and killed her mother and her father as has been proven by now. And then hesitated to kill him.

So the populace is getting ready to revolt. They're being lead by a man who used to be a royal guard. He is supposedly born of a bastard line of the royal family. And he has just married the younger princess. The two of them want to take the throne from Ferona and the people find them so much more preferable.

Carrigan* is a King's Messenger ("Green Rider" in the book) and wears a winged horse brooch. It has a magical concealment spell. She and her message pose a threat to a deposed king and he has her captured and brought to him by two elite swordsman--the last of his personal guard. They bring her across the country claiming to be bounty hunters and telling wild lies about her to turn everyone they meet against her. But the stories get more and more unbelievable and one day they meet a man who sees through them but pretends not to. This is helped along by the fact that he can see through the brooch's concealment spell. Perhaps he is a messenger too or WAS at one time--either was rejected eventually or failed to pass his training stage or is simply retired or is the son of a messenger and has some magical ability--enough to see through the concealment spell but not enough to be accepted into the ranks. 

There was no such person in the actual book. She had a little help here and there and got away on her own. But I think it would be very interesting to write a version where she is saved by someone. The King's Messengers have special horses. If he is a retired one he could have a horse like hers and they could travel together on equal footing. Or perhaps her horse was sold or injured or even killed? That would give them a better reason to stick together.

Catie is 22 and trying to get home to New Orleans during the Z Apoc in her RV. It's probably not WISE of her. But all she wants to do is be reunited with her family. She thinks her survivalist grandparents' property might be a good enough place to ride it out and that her family might all be safe there. She knows she probably won't make it, but I guess without that goal she doesn't have enough will to stay alive.

She needs a mechanic and a doctor. So if your character is one of those, they'll have a better chance of getting let into her moving shelter. She's really REALLY paranoid about having it stolen or letting in a rapist or something. She doesn't have any guns. But even if she turns out to be letting in a "good person" she doesn't want to have to follow their lead. She wants to make all the final decisions. She wasn't like that before the apocalypse, but she has to be now. She's going to have to overcome all this.

So, armed with that information, pitch me a character that she'll be willing to let in! Or overwhelm her with a team of other people (with faster cars and guns?) who can take it from her?

A. Naraku tricking Kikyou and IY goes down differently. He gets the jewel in his hand and SHE shatters it to keep him from having it and try to destroy it. He murders her. IY arrives in time to hear her last words--she gives him the ability and the mission to put the jewel back together since destroying it didn't work and may have made things worse. He has to continue on without her or Kagome to help him. Young Kaede may instead, or may not. Or Kagome may come after a while (but why join him? that's the question.) 

B. Inuyasha has been doing the above but winds up in Kagome's world and can't go back right away. They bond there and when she figures out she can go with him she decides to help him---the help he's so desperately needed all this time. You know how Yura was able to infiltrate after them, maybe that's what happens and leads to Kagome getting there? In this situation he can see the strands himself--he has her jewel shard detecting power--but she's able to use her spiritual powers better in other ways and help him???
