If I have not looked at or commented on someone's sheet, and they have a firearm in their possession, then you have not read the 'What I expect from players' section in my title post, which shows me some might post in a way that I will disapprove of. So I suggest you read the section or even if your character is accepted, they might not be on the crew for long regardless of plot by you not posting how I expect it. 

To explain the firearm bit, this is a High Medieval fantasy setting, which means while firearms and cannons exist, they are primitive and few and far between. We are more likely to have bows and crossbows, and ship to ship combat is more likely to display ballista and catapults, as well as the occasional spell. Unless you have given me a hell of a good reason in your history as to why you have a very rare and expensive blackpowder firearm, you cannot have it.
