Basically, the Runes can manifest magic internally and directly use magic without having to think too much about it, but regular humans like the Blessed have to write spells out, and learn about the runic alphabet in order to tap into that sort of external magic. 2. Specific positions? It depends on what the position is, I feel. I'm likely going to write for the leader of the Blessed (either via NPC or actual character), and some of the Blessed have specific roles like Head of X, so you're free to ask for a position as long as it isn't already taken or at the tippy top or anything. 

3. Nah, I don't think so. They would just have to have had no knowledge that your character would suddenly be in possession of Algiz after its current user dies.

I see, I see. Good stuff to know. I have an idea to what my character for that is then, I just need to figure out what position to put him in, something involving combat, defensive or offensive, would be nice.
