I have personal moral issues with faceclaims, but seeing as it probably matters here more than most, I'm making an exception. (bonus points if you realize who I chose)
Name: Samantha Whitmore - just “Sam” Title: Baroness - much to her ire Gender: Female - but probably should have been a boy by the way she acts. Sexuality: Bi-curious (I pair her off purely on character compatibility, men & women alike) Age: 19 Nationality: Merriedge - City of Avalon Character Appearance: Slender, unimposing, sweet from a distance. Of note, her eyes a bright green, almost irridescent and sharply contrasting with her unkempt dirty-blonde hair. A face as soft as hers does not do justice the firecracker that she is under the surface. If given the choice as she finally is, she straight up refuses to wear traditional dresses. She prefers a long skirt or blouse with a boy’s jacket over top of it. Depending on the day, she may tolerate putting flowers or other accessories in her hair. Other days she keeps it modest with only a simple pendant around her neck. Lavish jewelry never appealed to her. Background: Sam was born of the Whitmore family, one of the wealthy barons in Avalon. Her upbringing steered her towards being the perfect wife for another wealthy male, though she fought this every chance she could. She was constantly in trouble for sneaking out into the less luxurious working districts with friends, or playing around on the docks near the ships constantly coming and going. She was obsessed with travelling since she was a young girl. Of course, her parents would have none of their daughter being around the deckhand ‘peasantry’. More than once her father, Andrew Whitmore, third generation owner-operator of Whitmore Trading Company, caught her in the carriage trying to sneak down to the docks whenever he went to attend to business matters. At 17, her parents had begun trying to marry her off. Sam makes it a point to lead on suitors then shatter their hopes as the adults start pressuring her. Having exhausted any hope of finding a husband for her in Avalon, the hope turned to her finding a groom amidst nobility. For the first time this year she’s being sent to Belchester. Her parents are hopeful that someone there can change her attitudes on marriage, but Sam has very different ideas. With the watchful eyes no longer constantly hovering over her, she intends to turn the adults’ plan on its head and make the trip her own personal getaway that does not include being paraded for a multitude of spoiled boys. Personality: In a word, firecracker. Reckless, tomboyish, not at all the perfect lady her parents wanted. Also not above settling a heated argument with a smashed nose. She never felt at home in the wealthy nobility and all their etiquette and rules and fancy dress. She would much rather see the world and do real things, not the fake life she likes to call what she’s forced to live at home. For others it may be how they wish to live, but it has never been anything less than a facade for Sam. She’s not a romantic - not after having it cheesily shoved in her face for a year and a half now - but that’s not to say she’s hopeless. She couldn’t tell you what it is she wants in someone, but the answer is someone who is real rather than the image their money would have them put on. She doubts this is the right place to find that and does not have high hopes. But so long as there are princes buying the drinks, she can still have some fun. Other: She’s always wanted to learn dueling. Playing with swords was never considered “ladylike” and her parents would never condone it. She once said she would be thrilled the day she could slice a potato out of the air.
