The Red Light District... A long line had formed outside of The Rose Garden, a typical sight for the club on nights like this. Nights when it feels like you have to let go of your inhibitions, your responsibilities, and just treat yourself. The main floor of The Rose Garden houses the modern nightclub scene; neon trim, modern design, loud EDM music, the kind of atmosphere that attracted the youth. Beneath the electronic beats and neon was the classic speakeasy style club. A jazz band accompanied by a live singer provided a vintage feel as businessmen and women of the underworld gathered to enjoy the night or forge deals. This VIP section was accessible only by knowing the password given only to those trusted by the Madam Vona herself. Individuals she deemed unlikely to cause a fuss in her domain. As for Vona herself, her office overlooked the jazz club from a large circular window. Her office was designed much like the basement level but it also doubled as a small apartment should she need to stay there for whatever reason. The office desk was placed across from the window, allowing the Black Rose boss to oversee the merryment of her customers below while also allowing her to spot any incoming threats. Two guards stood outside her door with her main bodyguard, a dark elf named Seleris sat across the desk from his boss who was carefully looking her reports from each of her lieutenants. "Sel, could you please make me a White Russian?", Tarvona didn't even look up from the reports on her desk as she spoke. Seleris didn't hesitate to get up from his chair and walk over to the bar. "Just one, boss?", Seleris asked as he collected the ingredients. Tarvona let out a short chuckle as she finally looked up from her work, "You know me so well, Sel. Unfortunately it'll be just one for me right now, thank you dear." Seleris brought the finished product and rested it beside her before returning to his seat. "It seems this may have been our most uneventful month this year, aside from the inevitable brawl upstairs there hasn't been many problems in our area", closing the file before taking a sip of her drink she looked to the window for a brief moment before turning back to Seleris. "Jaani is here, open the door for her", before she even finished her sentence Seleris was headed towards the door. Opening it revealed a young dark elf girl, charcoal grey in color with red hair holding a smartphone in her hand. "Ma, some Steel Lances got taken out downtown", holding up her phone to show pictures of the scene. Bodies were strewn about the room with the floor painted blood red. It was not an unfamiliar sight to Vona but having it be so close to her people made it a concern. "This was a solo job, wasn't it", her eyes continued to examine the pictures. One of the photos of the bodies looked to have a knife wound on them. Searching for survivors? Most hits would happen fast without taking the time to kill survivors. A single knife wound victim would say this was a hit on a particular person but it was done to more than one. This was personal. "That's what I heard the cops saying when they arrived", that last part caught Vona's attention. "You were there before the cops, how close were you when it happened?", a look of concern came upon her face as she glanced back at the photos. "I was across the street when it happened, I was on my way here" "Did anyone see you go into to take the pictures?" "I-I don't think so" "Are you certain?" "No, I'm sorry Ma, It happened fast and I didn't want the cops to catch me there" "Its fine love, I'm not mad at you", Vona hugged the young dark elf before looling to Seleris. "Sel, have one of our boys watch Jaani for a few nights. Love, take the night off. You did good tonight" Jaani took back her phone before smiling at Vona, "Thank you ma" "You're welcome, love", Jaani exited the room with Seleris following behind her. Vona, now alone in her office, replayed the images in her head while looming over the files again. This attack came out of nowhere and if she had missed something that could endanger her enterprise she needed to correct it. "Who are you"
