I like the twisted, nigh-impossible path to a fulfilling ending, ideally involving many of the characters marrying.  But "fulfilling" could mean a worthy death, too.  As for two people dying, it probably should have an impact but it wouldn't on Alisea.  That's part of her twisted path to follow.  So they're more valuable to me as off-screen characters.
