Lester Astrante
Lester was aware of the cutting sarcasm in the girl's words, and he minded none of it. Extending a both hands to the side and then pressing on the cards on his right hand a bit, he propelled them forward towards his other hand, not a single one of them falling to the ground in the process. "Just like that. Got it?" Lester smiled then, before following up with an explanation. "The trick is to not be an idiot, and a bit of magic, but mostly not being an idiot." Lester was about to hand the deck of cards to the girl, but the sudden start of the Entrance Ceremony cut their chat short, as Lester turned his full attention to the words coming from the speakers. He knew most of these already but, in a way, they served to strengthen a resolve deep inside him. If the pale girl said anything to him during this period, he probably didn't listen to her at all. Once everything was done and someone asked them to follow him to the cafeteria, Lester seemed less than excited to do so. Instead, he turned to his would-be-apprentice in the art of parlor tricks and asked, "Got something interesting to do? Or do you just plan to stand here, looking dumb? That does seem like a talent of yours, dearest." [@Jay Kalton]
