✧ Petronia ✧
That tingling sensation in Petronia's head, chest and wings grew. A glance down the tunnel revealed distant, moving shapes. More dragons. The crystal formation in front of her suddenly shot up, growing and spreading at an alarming rate, sending the white wyvern stumbling back. More gems spiked up from the ground all around her. Petronia stared around frantically at the jagged wall. She flapped her wings, but it quickly became clear she wasn't built for flight. Great. It was all well and good that she had a way to protect herself, but it would be a plus if her shield didn't double as a prison. "Don't worry! I'll get you out of there!" she heard the excitable ice dragon offer, seemingly unfazed by her lashing out. Petronia glared up as the wyvern rose into the air. "Hmph. Don't bother. I did this, I can undo it just as easily," she grumbled, even though she didn't have the first idea how to reverse what she'd done. She tried striking the barrier with the tough crystals on her wings, but it held. How had she broken through her egg? It hadn't just been with her strength, she was sure of that, but how did she even use her crystal manipulation ability? With a growl of frustration, she thought back to what it had felt like when she'd made the shards grow, feeling that crackle of energy spread through her again. Slowly, the spikes jutting from the ground began to sink back down. Petronia huffed. She didn't have the patience for this. This time, all it took was one blow from her wing for the now-fragile barrier to shatter. Well, that was that dealt with... Which just left the problem of the other, possibly less than friendly dragons here.

❆ Quilo ❆
[@LeamonZest89] As Quilo dodged the second shower of crystal fragments, he glimpsed other scaly forms deeper in the cave, heard them talking. He and the gem-covered dragon weren't the only hatchlings here. "Looks like we've got company! C'mon, what are we waiting around for?" He glanced from Petronia to the distant group, red eyes wide and shining. "Let's say hi!" And with that, he was in the air again. The shoulder wound stung with each flap of his wings, but wasn't bad enough to slow him down any. "Oh yeah, great idea! Fly headlong into danger, why don't you?" he heard the other dragon snarl, but he ignored her, darting forward... Crash. "Oww!" He picked himself up from the ground, feeling a bruise start to form on his head. "What was that?" Whatever - or whoever - he'd collided with was nowhere in sight. There just seemed to be an empty space in front of him.
