Sabine lifted a hand to interrupt. "That is fine, Meesei, I did not...I..." She covered her eyes and laughed as her attempt failed. "I think I have improved," Sabine responded. "At least I understand much more than when I was just a teenager. Maybe I am easier to fluster now. Innuendo is not as foreign anymore." The shift in topic allowed a moment for Sabine to finally tear and chew at her meal. Her chewing slowed partway through. Her eyes wandered to the fire thoughtfully. Whatever rumination she caught herself in was cut off by the last two sentences. Sabine's eyes and ears lit up and she faced Meesei. "Hmm..." She hummed a short laugh. "I have been scared to think too closely about that. I thought it would distract me. This close to the end of the war, though...it is a nice thought. A very nice thought." After a moment looking as wistfully as a werewolf could at the space in front of her, Sabine breathed in and spoke up. "Meesei?" She hesitated and rubbed her arm. She chose her words carefully. "Did you ever want children of your own? You have always been a mother to me but...just thinking about having children with Karl sounds really nice to me and I just wonder if you were the same at my age."
