As she entered the school, Nemo groaned for about the fiftieth time that day. The first day of school was always hell on her back. Her backpack was filled with everything she could ever possibly need for the school year, even though about 75 percent of it would sit in her locker completely untouched. Nemo was carrying her backpack in her arms in front of her, for fear that if she used the straps, the bag's stitches would break. She really liked that backpack; she wasn't in a hurry to ruin it. She hadn't done much during the summer, but it was a comfortable kind of idleness. She didn't have any responsibility, looming deadlines, or the need to hide her gender. As such, she was dreading the next nine months. She just knew that she would get fucked up emotionally today. The first day was always a parade of introductions and icebreakers, and she would have to introduce herself using a name that wasn't hers anymore. Nemo dropped her bag to the ground and leaned her forehead against her locker, sighing. She was being overdramatic. Probably because she had barely slept the night before. She turned around and ran her hands through her hair, trying to wake up and stop wallowing in sorrow. She got to work dumping all the heavy books and binders into her locker before looking for her first class. As she passed two girls and a guy, none of whom she recognized, some huge guy roughly bumped her with his shoulder, sending her stumbling awkwardly into the group of strangers. Nemo immediately jumped back from the people she had just fell into. "S-sorry! Sorry about that!" She hated how weak and anxious she sounded. She could hear the shithead who knocked her over laughing in the distance. Awesome. Great. Perfect start to the year. [@Jaded][@PrinceAlexus]
