As the saw blades came into contact with the radiant barrier, they were sent screaming through the air; followed soon after by a dozen booms that sounded off in almost perfect unison as they were rocketed to over 1500 mph (twice average bullet speed). With the shockwaves still crawling through the air, the flight plan of the blades began to change as they began receiving commands from their master that would draw them back towards him with each ricochet that happened thereafter. With unparalleled synchronization the blades screamed passed their master and began instantly ricocheting off of walls of the enclosed space in which he still stood. In just a half second, the blades ricocheted an innumerable amount of times and covered Xavier in over 100 cuts as each blade dug into his flesh at least 10 times; picking up a fresh supply of metal with each pass and 'slowly' changing their form from blades to balls. The blades had just been given their command, to merge their forms into one sphere with a 7 in radius, when Dias would have been finishing his aerial maneuver; unbeknownst to Xavier. All at once, Xavier’s mind was filled with a volley of information as Dias released his attack; the first being incredible power surge pinging off of the Dread Particles nearest the radiant sphere as it was created. Then, [s]for but an instant, the force that repelled the particles from entering the barrier suddenly lessened, before[/s] the beam tore through the barrier and smacked into the thick particles that made up the front lines of the cloud. It was here that the thickest, most durable of the Dread Particles resided; but in the end even they would prove to be no match for the massive power that was thrust against them. Fueled by the very same indomitable will that prevented the Chaos God Mitsurashi from overpowering Dread Energy; the particles would stand against the beam for only a fraction of a second. At which point the physical form the particles had come together to create was torn asunder; scattering a small percentile of the remaining particles into the air around it while the greater majority simply ceased to be. However, before their 'death' they relayed crucial details about the impending attack; such as its size, angle of approach and a rough measure of the amount of destructive energy being thrown at him. It was impressive, to say the least. As the beam tore through the air beyond the barrier, it was able to make relatively easy work of the Dread Energy through which it streaked; the particles resisting against it as best they could in an effort to give their master even slivers of time before the beam would strike. They needed only for their information to reach him first; not only ahead of the beam, but also what his eyes alone could tell him at such immense speeds. Contact. Before his eyes could register the flash of light bursting from the barrier, Xavier’s brain was firing off signals to his various limbs and they responded as fast as they possibly could; but not fast enough. The beam slammed home against Xavier in a light show of white and crimson as the two energies fought against each other; the destructive beam split in twine at the impact point of an object that refused to be destroyed. It was due in large to his skin that Xavier was able to withstand the immense energy sweeping over him; it was specifically designed to protect Xavier from any energy based attacks and no matter how destructive the energy beam was, it was energy nonetheless. No more than a quarter second after the beam was split in two, the stream of information from the Dread Particles would have sunk in and it became clear that this wasn't something he would want to be caught in the middle of for very long. Almost instantly after this realization, around 3/4 seconds after beam impact, Xavier's mind began firing off a steady stream of commands to his various limbs and his energy deposit; quick muscular spasms firing off all throughout his body as his right foot was briefly thrust against the ground with incredible pressure as he lifted and began pulling the left side of himself out of harms way. At the same time, his right arm visibly tensed once again as the energy coating both arms, was absorbed and added to a fresh supply within him. This quick and graceful motion was only possible due to his enhanced neural pathways which are responsible for carrying mental commands throughout the body; Xavier can start moving much sooner and faster than most who do not possess these enhancements. Around 2 seconds had passed when this maneuver finally dragged the greater portion of Xavier’s body from the torrential energy beam, and it could be seen that his flesh was not standing up as well as he may have hoped. As his left arm was exposed, it looked as though someone had taken a blow torch to a wax figurine; pockets of melted skin leading into sections of blackened streaks. It only got worse as the rest of his body was dragged out, the flesh appearing ribbon like and stringy until it was just black ash; falling painfully slow through the air as his body continued sideways. Xavier’s face and the right portion of his body still remained within the blast, but at the speed with which his body pushed through the beam,it wouldn’t be long before he was free of it and behind the cover on his left. At this point, approximately two and a half seconds have passed since the blast has hit. To run from the blast and hide were not the only steps of his plan; the blades had carried out his command and merged together to create one massive metallic ball. This veritable cannon ball, which had over 4 times the density of a steel ball it’s size, was one a recipient of the slew of mental commands that Xavier had released; rocketing through the air over his right shoulder at the same break neck speed as before, so as to dive 'head' first into the destructive beam. As soon as contact was made with the beam, the metallic ball began to lose mass at an alarming rate; like dropping a dense ball of dirt into a puddle, the metallic ball simply lost its structure before being reduced to nothing. This surprised Xavier, but he continued through with the intended quick punch that would release the torrent of Dread Energy. The Dread Energy fought hard, tearing through a vast majority of the beam in an instant as the separate particles initiated a veritable kamikaze run on the beam in an attempt to make way for their brethren. [s]On their own, there’s a good chance that either the spike or the dense beam of Dread Energy would have been enough to get the job done, but such things would not be left up to chance. The spike was simply acting like a sleek energy piercing head which would protect the Dread Energy Beam that was fueling it’s advance. Even if the majority of the Dread Metal head was destroyed by the act of tearing through the beam, the beam of energy behind it would be more than able to makeup for it. They need only pass through the Destructive beam and into the barrier before the beam was finished (7-8 seconds as said by Dias) and then the real fun would begin…[/s] A solid 3 seconds have passed since impact now, [s]with only a fraction of one left before the spear may pierce the barrier, [/s]and the rest of Xavier's body was sliding free from within; as he slid from the beam, he was sending as much energy through it as he could muster before connection would have been severed to his already launched beam. The amount of force that had been released was massive, comparable even to the blast that he was battling with; but in the end, with no protection to speak of, the destructive nature of Dias's beam was able to tear apart the Dread Energy that attempted to pierce it. [s]In the end, the spike had half the total supply of what Xavier first brought in with him pushing it forward. If the tactic was successful, the Dread Energy particles would thin themselves out and begin trying to spread themselves through the interior of the orb; while whatever remained of the spike would set about ricocheting from the various walls within the barrier.[/s] The greater portion of the right side of his body now devoid of flesh and any remnants thereof. What remained, was Xavier's greatest defense and seldom seen secret; every fiber of his being had been fashioned from Dread Metal, aside from the skin that had been burned away. From the individual strands of muscular tissue down to the would be marrow of his bones; it was all fashioned from Dread Metal and shared it's defensive qualities. This did not render it immune from any of the beams destructive effects; scorch-like warps disturbed the usually perfect muscular structure of his pecs and abdomen, while random instances of broken muscular fibers littered the perimeters of these like curly pubes. His body had taken a beating, that much was true, but it certainly didn't put him out of the fight. Now free of the beam, Xavier put disfigured boot to ground as he picked up more speed; a loud metallic creak sounding off, followed by a sharp *ping* as he forced movement out of his fused muscular structure and stepped with his bare, metal, left foot while he ran along the wall to his left leading towards the other shelter.
