The speed at which this healing factor works varies in direct proportion with the severity of the damage Wolverine suffers. Wolverine’s natural healing also affords him virtual immunity to poisons and most drugs, as well as an enhanced resistance to diseases. His agility and reflexes are similarly enhanced. In addition, Wolverine’s healing factor provides him with an extended lifespan by slowing the effects of the aging process. Although over a century old, Wolverine is as healthy and physically fit as a man in his prime. Wolverine also possesses a superhuman level of acute senses, making him capable of seeing things at a maximum distance greater than a normal human’s. His hearing is enhanced in a similar manner, and he is able to recognize people and objects by scent, even if that person or object is hidden. Wolverine can use these enhanced senses to track any creature with an impressive degree of success. Secondary Superpower: Wolverine’s skeleton includes six retractable one-foot long bone claws, three in each arm, that are housed beneath the skin and muscle of his forearms. Wolverine can, at will, release these slightly curved claws through his skin beneath the knuckles on each hand. The skin between the knuckles tears and bleeds, but the blood loss is quickly halted by his healing factor. Wolverine can unsheathe any number of his claws at once, although he must keep his wrists straight at the moment his claws shoot from his forearms into his hands. When unsheathed, the claws are fully within his hands, and thus Wolverine can still bend his wrists. The claws are naturally sharp and tougher than that of normal human bone structure, allowing Wolverine to cut through most types of flesh and natural materials. Wolverine’s entire skeletal structure, including his claws, has been artificially bonded to the nearly indestructible metal Adamantium. As a result, Wolverine’s bones are virtually unbreakable, and his claws are capable of cutting through almost any substance depending on its thickness and the amount of force he can exert. Due to his healing factor, the presence of Adamantium in his body does not interfere with his bones’ normal function of generating blood corpuscles. The reinforcement of his skeleton enables Wolverine to withstand high levels of physical pressure, giving his muscles sufficient force to briefly lift/press several hundred pounds. Skills: Due to his extensive training as a soldier, a C.I.A. operative, a samurai, a spy, and a member of the X-Men, Wolverine is an exceptional hand-to-hand combatant, having mastered virtually every fighting style on Earth. He is also a trained expert in multiple types of weapons, vehicles, computer systems, explosives, and assassination techniques. Wolverine is fluent in many languages, including Japanese, Russian, Chinese, Cheyenne, Lakota, and Spanish; he has some knowledge of French, Thai, and Vietnamese. Weakness: Despite the extent of his healing factor, Wolverine is not immortal. If the injuries are extensive enough, especially if they result in the loss of vital organs, large amounts of blood, and/or loss of physical form. Due to extensive memory implants given to Logan through the Weapon X program, any or all of these memories are suspect. Logan has at least one memory of meeting Captain America (Steve Rogers) in World War II while he was in the Canadian Army which has been verified as true. Sometime after World War II, Logan was taken by a group of scientists led by Dr. Cornelius as part of the Weapon X program. Cornelius was hired to perfect and use a technique that would bond the indestructible element adamantium to human bone cells. Logan's skeleton was bonded to the adamantium, and he was indoctrinated into the Weapon X assassin program. Wolverine was conscripted by Department H, and for his first mission was sent against the Incredible Hulk. Hulk had grown so enraged in the battle, that Wolverine's adamantium claws failed to penetrate Hulk's skin. The Hulk emerged victorious and Hulk abandoned the unconscious Wolverine, unaware of his healing factor. The defeated Wolverine returned to Department H. Still slated to take leadership of Alpha Flight, Wolverine spent weeks completing some espionage missions, even when various factors made him increasingly troubled by his service to Department H.

Beast - Though he has never really stated anything, Logan actually has a fair amount of respect for Hank. There are a lot of times when the kid showed flashes of being one of the most book-smart people he's ever met, which says a lot, considering that Logan's been living for hundreds of years. The only thing Hank needs is the age and experience to back it up. Colossus - If you were to ask him about Piotr several decades ago, without knowing him personally, there's no telling what kind of response one would get. However, now though that Logan's learned a bit more about him, he, without a doubt, believes that Piotr is a good kid. A friendly giant. Someone whom he knows would be more interested in saving people than winning fights. Nickname: Ruskie Cyclops - Being Chuck's poster boy, he's got all the components one would expect in a team of, kids, really. Like everyone else, some kind of tragic past. He can give Summers a sort of silent admiration. This is especially because of the fact that, even though his past may haunt him, he doesn't let it cloud the person he is. He's got a good head on his shoulders, and is a fairly effective leader, given his serving size of experience. Though, he isn't quite a fan of Scott's "goody two shoes" nature. Nickname: Boy Scout; Cyke Jean Grey - To describe Jean, he would simply say that she's the team's sunshine. Her compassionate and kind nature has a tendency to radiate to others. Even in the relatively short time they've been around each other, they've grown rather close. There are times when he looks at her, and feels protective of her, in an almost fatherly fashion. Other times...It's something else, something more...Which is a weird complex, to say the least. Nickname: Jeanie Nightcrawler - At first glance Kurt looks like a demon or some kind of cartoon character, though with a team like this, it's always better to go with what doesn't meet the eye. In this instance, he's anything but the monster he appears to be outwardly. If anything negative, he's kind of a pushover. Either way, while he never necessarily went into bouts of questioning god or anything like that, Logan does have respect for Kurt being a man of the faith. Nickname: Elf Storm - Ororo is an interesting type of unique. Logan sees her as, not being a genius like McCoy, but being ingenious instead. Where he had the books, she could deal with people. That talent is something more than what he can say for himself a lot of the time. However, with her teenage girl type of moodiness combined with how strong she can prove to be, he isn't quite sure about how to place her yet. Nickname: 'Roro
