A faint smile comes to his lips even as a sinking feeling tugs at his stomach as the boy above him chatters on like a squirrel. 'He is obviously very unfocused. Shame on whoever it was that left this little one to fend for itself. It is foolish, and cold' Clearing his throat he does his best to appear relaxed, even while his body tenses should the young one decide to act out. “I most certainly am not a monster, and nor are you. Whatever you have heard those human saying, it is simply not true. You are just untrained.” Dorian shifts from one foot to the other, his voice shifting to a warmer tone. “However you are right on one point. I am the same as you, only much older.” A bolt of lightning flashes overhead again and the elder blinks away the rain gathering on his upturned eyes. Sighing lightly he smiles. “I shall prove it too. Something is telling you to stay away from me. You feel strong, fast, like you are more than you ever were before, but something about me makes you tremble inside.” Bringing his arms up he crosses them over his stomach, gripping his elbows with his hands. “You do not understand the feeling because you have never met another of your kind, let alone an elder like myself. Elders often times have little patience for newborns they themselves have not sired, and will kill them without hesitation.” Raising a hand to show he has no intention of doing so he adds, “I however am not like that. I have grown past such urges, and will do whatever it takes to win your trust.” He drops the hand back down to grip his elbow once again and he waits silently for the youngster to make the next move.
