Not just a halt, but absolutely froze from one moment to another. Only his dangling monocle revealed that time was indeed still passing. A few meters from the intangible opponent stood Lara with her arm stretched out at him. Her breathing quiet and her mind concentrated. “Telekinesis,” she explained to the current room of question marks. “It’s the real source of my strength.” And no one really knows why. That last part was said only in her head and with an internal sigh. She saw the invisible adversary in front of her and almost felt him with her fingertips, despite being nowhere near him. With a flick of the hand she made him drop to the floor unconscious in a very undramatic manner, and that was it. “That’s more like it,” Wildcat said, yet not quite smiling. Making no effort to conceal her tiredness, Lara simply nodded and let herself drop down on the solid floor with a loud bump. Falling hadn’t hurt since she was little, and using telekinesis on things had always demanded more of her than merely smashing them. From down on the floor she awaited Wildcat’s final verdict.
