Dunno, Ash is reluctant to go too hard in a fight. It's related to the reason as to why she left Shadow Heart, but normally when she gets a little 'excited' people tend to get hurt is another reason lol I think the Riona fight is a good example, or what she just did to Manami (in that case, she just got a little careless XD)
And a B-Rank Frenzy Plant wizard is probably an A-Rank anywhere else tbh XD Holding back, even subconsciously, would make the fight ten times harder than it should.
That and due to Ash's impulsive fighting ways, it wouldn't be too hard to outthink her. Her strat is just 'hit harder than the other guy'
