~Gwynn~
Gwynn's gaze lowered towards the ground more as Maoin continued. The words hurt, just a bit, because she knew everything being said was a hundred percent true. If she was a better master in general - Maoin wouldn't have gotten hurt. Like...Luna, Sel, or hell...Nitsa, here. She didn't feel guilty about leaving - she just felt guilty about Maoin in general. She tried, she did, she really did try to care for the cat, but it always just went wrong. She couldn't accept being pampered. She couldn't accept the kitten treating her like some sort of fragile doll when she wasn't, especially when the cat herself was one. The thing that hurt the most, though? "It is cruel to bring a pet ... me ... into the world like this unwanted." Cruel? ...was that...cruel? Gwynn remained silent as Nitsa's passive expression turning into a slight frown as Maoin finished. "I suppose you two will never just understand each other, will you?" She sighed, as Gwynn shook her head, slapping herself on the side of the face, giving Maoin an uneasy smile. "That's right...I guess I'm cruel, huh?" She gazed at the sword, shaking her head before turning around and walking off. "D...do whatever you want with it. I don't need something like that..." "If you truly think Gwynn didn't want you, cat, then you are just as stupid as she." Nitsa replied harshly. "So I'll tell you bluntly. Gwynn didn't want a servant. She wanted a friend she could go on adventures with. Someone she could laugh with, talk with, cry with. Someone that would have smacked her if she was being stupid. Someone she could be...open with." The princess sighed. "If you know her parents then you are aware they weren't the most sociable or free spirited sort. The reason she couldn't with you as you are...is because she wasn't sure how to treat you. She didn't wish to lord over you because you were a servant. She thought doing anything with you was simply going to end up using the contract to force you to like or do it." Nitsa walked over to the kitten again, giving her a soft smack on the top of the head. "You think because you are a familiar that the relationship between you and her means you would always be subservient, but that is false. A master and servant relationship is far less straight forward. It is much more symbiotic in nature - if the servant fears or always blindly follows what their master says then they themselves will be blinded and in the end, fail to protect their master even from themselves. Masters who abuse or use their position to take advantage of their familiar will find their servants eventually rebelling, or simply being far less stable and of much less use than ones who do not." She turned, twirling a few feet away, her clothing and jewelry creating a vibrant swirl of colors in the evening sun. "Now, then cat." Nitsa said, stopping and bowing towards Maoin. "It would be best if you go home for now. Ritsa and I shall attend to Gwynn. I am taking better care of that idiot more than you ever were." The princess stood up, laughing lightly with smug grin. "If you are ever in Atlantis do stop by the palace. I could always use a fluffy kitten to pet~" With another colorful twirl, the princess left in the same direction Gwynn had.
