They’ll show you fire and brimstone for a good story. So the future looks a little different than the one they showed you in the stories of your past. Our future is a bit more green than that. A lot more green. When humans were out of the picture, well when a lot of humans were out of the picture, the trees and mother nature took back what was rightfully hers this whole entire time. Now we’re hunted by God knows what. Creatures that are not of this earth. Hunted by Humans who have went feral. [center][h2]The RP[/h2][/center] Welcome ladies and gentleman to Astray. This is a survival sci-fi apocalypse. But there’s some differences in this world than the ones you’re thinking of. There are no zombies nor are there any feral ghouls wandering around here. The apocalypse you see before you is a lush, thick, and dense tropical forest. In humid tropical climates. Instead you are a Human from either the Hunters or the Ferals. Who are the Hunters and who are the Ferals? Well that all needs to be explained doesn’t it? [u][b]How the world got this way? [/b][/u] During an alien invasion via War of the Worlds, they brought their own parasites and diseases to Earth. As the aliens died their DNA mixed with our throughs their fluids, seeping into our groundwater. These parasites stir life in somethings and death in others. Some humans, well a lot of humans died. Few humans survived. And the parasites encouraged plant life to grow and changed the atmosphere in the air. To that of a more tropical climate, which the aliens were more comfortable with. The Hunters, Are the last Human Humans on Earth. They live in an outpost [Delta Five] they have created with scraps. Your goal is to survive. While perma death may be completely reserved for those who leave the RP, it is possible by bad decisions that you may die. The Ferals, Are Humans with significant mutations. When the alien viruses entered some human bloodstreams it did not kill them, instead over more and more and more years changed them. Gave them strengths the Hunters do not have. It increased their senses. They can smell better than other humans. It made them stronger. If they wanted to they could lift another human being with a single hand. But that’s as far as their strength goes. They are more agile and live more tribal than the Hunters do. They have two different clans also fighting each other for dominance. As for the creatures, all alien and TBA as I work on a codex. [u][b]How this RP works?[/b][/u] It’s meant to be a sort open world storytelling continuous story with no plot goal in mind. Instead you’ll have different Arcs. And different chapters where new problems arise and it’s sort of post apocalypse drama. Think Slice of Life, but in a post apocalyptic setting. Scavenging, searching for scraps, betrayal, love, death, etc. [u][b]Two Clans of the Feral Tribe[/b][/u] You have the Clay Bone Horde tribe. Rumors or legend talk about them being mental warriors. Their leader is said to foretell the future. All though this might be smoke in the air to scare the other clans. They are known to use their Protectors. Deadly assassins with poisoned blades, known as the Edge Virus. The Grim Stalker Tribe The Grim Stalker Tribe broke from the Clay Bone Horde years ago after a conflict of leadership arose. They are known for being sturdy warriors, who use potions to make their warriors stronger. They berserk on poisonous potions. Strong and hardy they decorate themselves in war paint and powerful leaders wear the bones of their kills as decorative bracelets and necklaces. [center][h2]The Roles[/h2][/center] [u][b][center]Hunters[/center][/b][/u] Leader - Me Second in Command - Open Medic - Open Lead Outpost Security - Open Navigator - Open - A navigator's job is to mark points of interest and enemy locations on the map. Most likely this map is one they designed. Outpost Security 1 - Open Outpost Security 2 - Open *and since this is meant to be sort of guideline, I’ll add security the more interest there is to be security of Delta Five Scavenger *anyone can sign up to be a scavenger it’s the most prevalent job and prevalent citizenship in Delta Five. A scavenger is often the one, that is lead with a team to go out into the forest and collect goods. Like food, tech, items of interest, etc. --- [center][u][b]Ferals[/b][/u][/center] Clay Bone Horde Leader - Me Second in Command - Open Shaman - a shaman works a bit differently than a medic. They gear more towards herbalist and post apocalyptic voodoo magic. Oh yeah there might be some sort of psychic magic shit going on for the person that takes on the shaman role. Protector Leader A protector's job in the Clay Bone Horde is to be the eyes and ears of the tribe. Unlike the Grim Stalkers you are more a group of assassins who know how to hide in the shadows. You are navigators and deadly stealth killers with blades laced in Edge. Abilities - Enhanced Hearing - You have enhanced hearing. You can hear up to 40ft away from your location. Anyone trying to sneak up behind you is easily sensed by the vibration in your ears. Protector 2 - Open Protector 3 - Open Protector 4 - Open Seeker A seeker is the tribe's version of a scavenger. They seek the forest for anything useful for the tribe. Be it tech that they utilize or be it food to feed the people. The Seekers make up the majority of the population. --- Grim Stalkers Leader - Open *I expect anyone that takes this position to put in some work into their sheet. Casual doesn’t mean giving me low effort work. Second in Command - Open Witch Doctor - A witch doctor is a healer and practitioner in deadly ceremonies. Their brews turn ordinary men into berserking beast of rage and bloodlust. They make people see visions. And are said or rumored to read the minds of others. Deadly alchemist and excellent healers. Abilities - Telepathy - Yep that’s right, but it’s very limited. It is one a thought of strong emotion. And is within the range of 5ft. And you may not get a clear message if there are too many around you. Blood Warrior Leader - Open The Blood Warriors are the backbone of the Grim Stalkers. They drink potions given to them no blessed to them by the Witch Doctors that turn their minds feral and give them animal like qualities and strengths. The best warriors decorate themselves in ink, by stencilling in their skin tattoos that depict their harrowing stories. Like beheading a Protector. Or slinging the entrails from a Hunter. Abilities - Animal rage. Consume a potion from the witch doctor and you become animal in mind. Your sense of smell increases to 40 ft, your sense of sight increases your distance by 60 ft, and you have heightened reflexes that make you more aware of your surroundings Blood Warrior 1 - open Blood Warrior 2 - open Blood Warrior 3 - open Blood Warrior 4 - open. Harvesters The Harvesters to the Grim Stalkers are what the Seekers are to the Clay Bone Horde and the Hunters. They make up the majority of the population. Their job is to search and seek out food, tech, and look for new points of interest which they relay to the leaders of their security or their leader directly if it is of key importance. [center][h2]Some Rules and Expectations[/h2][/center] I expect anyone who joins my RP to effectively communicate, if they are going to busy say so, if there was an emergency let me know as soon as you can. I am not evil, but please communicate. I expect people to ask questions before writing a sheet and assuming they know everything And I expect some moderate effort in the sheets. That is creatively. Interesting concepts. And realistic enough written people. I am more than willing to help with sheets. You just have to follow the first two rules above, communicate, and ask questions. And I'll absolutely be there to help. Because that's imo what a GM does is help the members where they need. Most importantly have fun. I know rules and expectations are not fun and I sound like a stickler. I'm mostly busy this month of October, but expect a decrease in activity in November. So I am looking for interest now. Taking the time to write sheets in October and looking to start this RP in November.
