[@slayerofkings]I guess that could work.  A ship making a blind jump is usually destroyed, but if they were in a nearby system when they blind jumped, they wouldn't have come across many anomalies that could damage the ship and and could have been pulled out of hyperspace by the planet itself.  Unable to slow down in time, the ship crashed.  You would have survived either because you a so resilient or because you got to an escape pod and slowed down enough to survive.
