[hider=The Power of Three, The Triumvirate of Free people, The Stars of Enilliad] History: The story of the union of the free peoples started in a time of peace, when the Aetherkin still roamed the land. Aetherkind were the third born of the gods, they were said to have been made from the stars themselves. The Elves came first, gifted with beauty, knowledge, and grace; the Dwarves came second, masters of steel, craft, and fire; then came Aetherkind, beings of pure energy, born of the stars, where elves die and become stars, the Aetherkin are eternal. The Aetherkin were a peaceful people, immortal in mortal bodies, they lived as artisans, scholars, sculptors. They were peaceful. They were loved by all, and they loved everyone all the same, they marked a long era of peace. The elves, watched them, and felt jealousy. Aetherkind was given immortality, and the Elves were given only long life. Their envy grew little by little as each day passed, until finally, the Elves could take no more. They unleashed their magic upon the Aetherkind, destructive powers that were enough to weaken them to the point of true-death, but it wasn’t enough. Aetherkind reproduced and healed in sacred groves in forests, there they grew new bodies, they recuperated from the Elven betrayal and pondered their survival. The Elves struck down each of these groves, one by one, burning as they went. The Aetherkin could take no more, and thus they marched to war. The war was horrible, terrible, and bloody, it raged for several, long, grueling years. Aetherkind were powerful, beings made of pure energy, energy drawn from the gods themselves. The Elves considered this to be the betrayal of the gods. Aetherkin soldiers were quick on their feet, powerful beyond comprehension, turning their opponents to dust, their archers firing such powerful bows that could burn through an entire column of infantry, three men wide. The losses for the Elves mounted each day as they lost ground, they were losing, their own magic matched by that of Aetherkind. Until one day, an Aetherkin offered his help against his own people. Morias Cyrino, an Aetherkin feared by that of most Elves, it is said that he has never once had another mortal body. He was the only Aetherkin that has never died in battle. The immortal of the battle of Ruined Dawn, the traveler of the Bygone deserts, the Wiseman of the north, he has many names, but to the Elves, he is called the angel of death. Morias offered to the Elves a prison, the Tesseract forged from the fallen star Terniro. They placed it on the highest mountain in their known world and activated it; in an instant, the life force of all Aetherkind was sucked into the Tesseract prison, except that of Morias. The Tesseract glowed many colors, it was referred to as the jewel of the gods. The Elves and Aetherkind were both betrayed however, because when the Tesseract was activated, it not only took Aetherkind, but with it, the Elves’ power. They were cursed with weakness for ten long years. In those years the Elves’ enemies pounced on them like hungry wolves, pulling them apart, leading towards the construct revolt, and the sudden collapse of the Elven empire. Morias watched as they burned and time consumed them, they collapsed into obscurity. Morias however, found himself at a crossroads, he found himself vengeful, hateful, everything he hated about what his race had become. The last of the Aetherkin, a hypocrite, a liar, and a traitor; he learned this when he found that he was willing to even think of killing innocent civilians, they were just elves that have never done anything to him and yet he pondered it. He became the monster that he hoped he would never become. He lowered his weapons and guided them towards Felidir forest in the Kalinir region where a Fairy race resides. There the elves rebuilt, alongside the fairies, the Dwarves of Karak’dien, the men of Arcadia, and finally the Greenskinned orks. The orks once threatened civilization before, and now they gather to do it again, Dwarves and Men alike make an alliance of necessity to fight the ork menace, trimming their numbers every other day and cutting them off from their reinforcements. The elves -untrusted by the Dwarves and Men- were met with some… “abrasiveness”, but the Aetherkin, Morias Cyrino negotiated for them. They found that they both had common ground, the Orks -with nothing left to challenge them- were growing in size and posed a considerable threat to the kingdoms in the region. The Elves and fairies offered their aid with Morias arbitrating between the three races. Eventually -over time- they became such close allies that old boundaries no longer existed, they became a union, a union of free people. The Triumvirate, the power of three, they are currently the most resilient and progressive countries in their world, shining like three stars in the night, thus the name the elves gave them, The Stars of Enilliad.
