After spending way too long on this, I must now thank you all for being patient with me as I present to you, the Order of the White Lotus' role, Kuren.

Personal Information
Positive personality traits: Serious, a quick thinker, and protective of his friends. Negative personality traits: Standoffish, overly-perfectionist, and a little superstitious. Role: White Lotus History: Native to the Fire Nation, but having spent time as a child reading of the customs of both the ancient and modern nations, he would then join the White Lotuses at age sixteen, and travel to each during his training. Given that many of his friends and comrades were practiced benders, he was in a rather fortunate position to observe their bending forms as well. Across his training, he would go through lessons in strategy, weapons training, hand-to-hand combat, endurance, and many more – trying his hardest to excel in all. He would, at times, adapt the bending styles his friends used into his own form of combat, where instead of using them to bend the elements, he would use them to his enemies at close range. Upon completing his training, he would be gifted with a bokken, a thin, curved sword, though its edges were dulled. By attaching it to a small generator on the back on his glove, it is quite simple to cause an electrical current to run through it, making it a rather effective weapon. Since, he has been sent on several missions, most of them diplomatic in nature, but has already had a share of combat. His latest mission has taken him to the Earth Federation, on the search for the Avatar. Though many Earth Benders in major cities across the world have been observed, none would prove to be the one they sought. However, one of the Grand White Lotuses has sent Kuren out on a journey that she assures will cross his path with the Avatar’s. He carries with him the four Avatar relics that the Air Nomads once used to identify the next in the cycle – in the hope that, should he meet the Avatar, they will recognise them. Special interests/skills/hobbies:

Meditation – To calm the mind, and balance the soul, Kuren took up meditation. He will find a quiet space, often permeated by morning or evening air, and complete at least one hour of meditation every other day. If he doesn’t manage this, it is very likely that he will become more irritable and less focused.
Pai Sho – As with many members of the White Lotus, Kuren spent much of his time during training playing the ancient game of Pai Sho. Though not many of his compatriots enjoyed the confusing mix of strategy and patterns, Kuren would spend much of his free time attempting to improve his skills. He doesn’t compare to the many masters of the game, but he’s still quite skilled.
Relationships (family, friends, etc.): Mother – Lari Yao, Deceased. Though Kuren only has a few memories from his childhood of his mother, they were all very happy ones. She had been a professor, of sorts, before illness took her. Kuren doesn’t remember what field she worked in, nor has he any clue as to where such information would be found. But he stopped looking for answers a long time ago. Father – Rion Yao, Deceased. Rion was the one to encourage Kuren to join the White Lotus. Some suspect that the man did it as a means to get the youth off his hands. They are correct, in a sense – except, Rion sent him to the training academy gave to give his son a far better life than he himself could. He died a few weeks before Kuren completed his training. Mentor – Meng Wu. One of the Grand White Lotuses, leaders of the order, Meng Wu is a descendant of the legendary fortune teller Aunt Wu, who would meet Avatar Aang during his journey. Kuren would on occasion confide in her during his training, which she oversaw before she rose to the position. Anything else worth mentioning: N/A
