K E N I C H I

Boys' Dorms > Campus Grounds

[@rechonq] “Ah that’s fine.” It wasn’t surprising he was asking about his quirk now. ”They are my quirk, and there’s seven of them that act like a boost in different ways. They make me act weird though, so it’s hard to use multiple at once. They boost things like strength, speed, senses and even healing. It feels weird to share them though.” He stopped sharing after that. When he asked if Kenichi was ready, the blue hair nodded and followed him out the door. But then the floating lights, an orange one and a red one, actually spoke up for themselves, which startled Kenichi a bit. Ayato sighed and explained. ”They also have their own personalities. I could introduce all of them if you want. I was also wondering what your quirk was.” "Oh, mine's pretty simple." Kenichi said, gesturing to the mask over his face. "It's called Hyper Ventilation, but not like the kind where someone gets too hysteric and passes out. Basically, my lungs can move and store huge amounts of air--I can hold my breath for ten minutes at a time, easy, or blow hard enough to knock people over. But as I grew up the only other way I figured out to use it was like blood doping." He flexed an arm to demonstrate, the veins growing brighter in color as freshly oxygenated blood surged through them. "The more air I get, the more energy my muscles can use and the better they flush this stuff called lactic acid--that's what makes you tired or makes an exercise painful." Actually, now that Kenichi thought about it, Ayato was the one who had mentioned the far-away cage or whatever it was in Arsenal's class, so maybe he was smart enough to understand everything without Kenichi attempting to explain it. Oh well, less chance to bungle it up. "My doctor told me my body adapted as I grew too, since my Quirk is one of the types that are always active, so I can handle pushing myself way past what would be safe for a normal athlete. But I'm no All Might or Desutegoro...at least not yet." He put his hand on his chin for a moment as he considered what Ayato had said about his own Quirk. "But, your Quirk seems pretty neat. Like having a guiding fairy or summon spirit in an RPG. But if using them gives you different powers, and there's seven of them, I bet their personalities are based on basic emotions, right? Anger, Sadness, Pride, Love, stuff like that?" There were supposed to be seven sins and seven virtues, and all the emotions were associated with different colors. Each of Ayato's little lights had been a different color up until now too, and the red and orange ones had been more assertive. Red was usually the color of something like anger, so to the blunette this hyper...hypno...hypothesis made the most sense. As they headed down through the dorms, Kenichi caught the smell of cookies floating through the air. Acting as if they had nearly stepped on a minefield, he suddenly shot an arm out in front of Ayato. "First rule of Fit, Ayato-kun! Carbs or fats depends on your end-goal, but avoid sugar as much as humanly possible!" he said, with an urgency in his voice and an uncomfortable amount of intensity in his eyes. Then he kept walking. "I smell meat too, though. Protein is pretty much your best friend on any diet or exercise regimen." The blue hair wondered who was in the kitchen, but figured it must have been multiple people since sweets and meat didn't sound like an ideal combination to him. As they left the dorm building and starting heading around the campus to the gym, something else caught Kenichi's attention--the sound of a familiar voice shouting in a way that wasn't familiar. There were some people talking near the entrance gate, one of whom Kenichi felt like he could have picked easily out of almost any crowd. Mostly because of said person's antennae. "Hey, Ayato-kun, I'm gonna say hi to a classmate real quick!" he told the other boy, before striding over towards Fumika and whoever it was around her. As he got closer he realized one of them was Jett, and he didn't recognize the other two girls. One of them bore a strong resemblance to Fumika, although she didn't seem nearly as quiet or passive, and the other... Ouch, wonder what happened to her leg? Right, gotta remember not to say something stupid--this isn't like talking to Dad, so no jokes like you would make with him. [@Aerandir][@Feyblue]"Yo, Motome-chan! Jett-kun!" He raised a hand at the same time as he raised his voice in greeting, walking casually up to the group as his other hand pulled the breathing mask down to let it hang around his neck. In a sudden flash of mental insight he realized his workout clothes might not be the coolest thing--just a white A-shirt and a pair of blue shorts--and despite all the work he had put in thus far maybe his muscles still weren't cool enough to be put on open display like this. But oh well, too late to worry about that now...heck, why was he worrying in the first place, it wasn't like he wanted to be thought of as cool... "You're so cool!" She said, her admiration obvious in her voice. Instead of her usual calm, stoic tone, she practically shouted these words, hopping halfway up from her chair before she evidently thought better of this decision and wobbled back down into a seated position. Well, maybe a little bit... "Everything, uh, alright?" He stopped just short of the group, looking around and giving a nod of acknowledgement to the two girls he didn't know. "I mean, I don't wanna interrupt anythin', I just...thought I heard Motome-chan shout." He scratched his cheek with a self-admonishing grin.
