Fortunately for them, a good deal of the structures remain although they are somewhat badly damaged. This does not stop them from using these ruins to create a new life for them however, and through much hard work and perseverance the Rifters have created a decent society for themselves. Although most of the alliances have not managed to quite get their hands on electricity yet, they are quickly approaching recreating modern lives for themselves in order to continue their now somewhat peaceful existence. This does not mean all is well however. There are many border disputes across the various alliances on who gets to maintain which lands, and there have been several gangs known as the 'Wastelanders' which have begun to crop up, insisting that being trapped in Britain is not what the Rifters are made for. Tensions are beginning to brew, and only those which choose the right side have a chance of keeping peace. Legend: Gray: The Wastelands, where the water damage was too sever for anyone to attempt to live in
Most Rifters would rather pretend that the Wastelands did not exist, rather than acknowledge what they represent. These lands are destroyed by war, scarred by death, and drowned in the suffering caused when Britain fell. For most they simply consider it un-inhabitable and a place to be forgotten however all know that there's more to this place than meets the eye. Several who refuse to live in the prison that's been made their homes have left for the Wastelands, insisting that they will find something better there. Broken tribes and gangs now inhabit the land, making it a wild and dangerous place. Only those with true bravery or stupidity attempt to head towards this much more uncivilized land.
Green: The Tradezones, where any alliance can travel to in order to trade and live with no borders
These lands are one of the only reasons that the Rifters manage to remain civilized, and not constantly bicker and fight amongst themselves. Mercenaries, workers for hire, and traders spend there time here frequently in order to trade their skills and abilities for food and drink. When one region cannot find a way to solve a certain problem, it is common practice to send an ambassador to what has been deemed as 'The Port'. This is the only location in the Rift-lands where Rifters from all over commonly live and stay together, making it one of the more effective (and potentially dangerous) areas in the land. When an Ambassador reaches here, they will find a Rifter with abilities to suit their needs and bring them back with great incentive to help their plight. This is where most bartering is done within the Rift lands.
Yellow: The Mystics, otherwise known as the homeland for those from the African Rift
The Mystics, or the Mysticlands, is by far the most mysterious and closed off of all the other Rifter communities. Due to the inhabitants being almost entirely from ancient and sheltered villages from within Africa, it is extremely rare to see any from this land travel outside it's borders. Because of this an unspoken rule has been formed that no on is to go there without being invited. After all, those Rifters from this area's abilities are even to this day somewhat mysterious, and shouldn't be taken lightly.
Blue: The Stormlands, otherwise known as the homeland for those from the Britain Rift
Named for the frequent and seemingly unexpected rainfall which comes as a side-effect from the various manipulation of the eco-sphere, these lands house the largest and most dense population of Rifters: those who originally came from Britain. Thanks to their common abilities of being able to manipulate the weather, the earth, and several other incredible powers they've managed to create running water and a reliable food source. This had put them at the top of the food chain, as it were, when it comes to the rest of the Rifters. Many rely on them for their food and water, and thanks to the leadership of none other then the brother of Daniel Viela this system has yet to fall to corruption. This doesn't stop tensions from rising steadily however, as many can see the truth: the Stormlands hold a near monopoly on vital supplies. At some point, this system will be ripe for abuse and once this happens the Rifters could go to war with each other.
Red: The Wildlands, otherwise known as the homeland for those from the Brazilian Rift
These are the more unruly and free-reigning lands of those who were given animalistic traits from the Brazil Rift. These lands are not ruled by government but instead by the basic animal instinct: if you're strong, you rule, if you're not you gather food for the rest. Despite this however the Hybrids have managed to prove themselves fairly intelligent and not quite so feral as many believe. Their rulers are indeed the strongest, however not only in strength. They will only follow those who prove strength in body, in intelligence, and in leadership. As of now the Hybrids seem to split into pacts which begrudgingly live with each other, however they generally choose only to interact with and protect those who are within their packs.
Purple: The Temporalzone, otherwise known as the homeland for those from the Russian Rift
The Temporalzone is somewhat volatile and dangerous, however when it comes to those who have made a home for themselves none can deny that the Russians have made the most impressive homes. Using their abilities to warp reality and defy physics, they have created impressive and spacious homes for themselves as well as even finding ways to at some points allow themselves electricity. The exact ways they do this are somewhat unknown mostly due to the fact that they keep it a secret as leverage against the Britain Rifters, however none can deny that these feats are impressive. Despite all this however they still do rely on others for food, and so as much as they wish to find themselves dependent of others they still must rely on them.
Black: The Reaping Grounds. Little is known about this area other than this is where the Britain Rift opens, and those who enter there are dismembered within less then a day, and returned to the border as a warning for all others.
