SKILLSET: 
Jianhong has a photographic memory coupled with an enormous IQ has made him one of the foremost experts in mechanics. Holding several doctorate degrees in engineering that range from Electrical, Atomic/Fusion and Liquid mechanics. Despite his large degree of education though Jianhong is a physically fit individual, a practitioner or Tai Chi and meditation for clarity, which he contributes to his success and a calm demeanor under the most crucial circumstances.

PERSONALITY PROFILE:
Jianhong is a very strong believer in karma. As the saying goes “What comes around, goes around”. A perfectionist when it comes to work. He demands it for the individuals that he has under him, but doesn’t let diligence and hard work go unrewarded. A lot of his strength and beliefs comes from his cultural heritage, his quarters are decorated with such items. A practicer of calligraphy and the cello which helps soothes the weary soul.

HISTORY: 
Jianhong come from the Earth, the oldest of two children from a respected household in Hong Kong. His parents didn’t marry for love but rather for intellect, which shows since both of the children graduated with their respective degrees by the time they turned 20. Taking various jobs in college’s and the private sector but he felt a longing for something greater. 

During his time in the private sector he seen a recruitment ad for starfleet. It drew his curiosity and did some research into the matter and within the week he’d left his job for Starfleet. It was due to fact that he believed that Starfleet engineers were sloppy at best but whatever it was, it was enough to make the young man leave for the stars. With his extensive education he was promoted to the head of engineering of the USS Hornet. 

His career skyrocketed and so did the war. He carried on his duties with the utmost diligence, the USS Hornet was the most impeccably maintained. Its systems never ran smoother as the war carried on giving his captain at the time more energy to dispose of fighting in the conflict. Receiving numerous accomodations during the war for his efforts keeping the ship running and juicing the engines when situations called for it. 

During the final months of the war though Jianhong had received a dire news. His sister had died by the hands of the Martian Legion. She’d been stationed on the border for humanitarian efforts to cure the sick and injured. Skirmishing ships had been running amok in that area of space with the Martian Federation destroying the small Starfleet force and bombarding the planet Jianhong’s sister Chunhua. 

It was after this time he took a leave of absence to grieve, but ended up taking a desk job at Starfleet. Teaching future engineers of Starfleet how to best maintain their ships. Longing for the stars again or just getting out of the classroom, he renewed his tenure as the Chief of Engineering on the USS Hornet but only to be redirected to the USS Hawking. Seeing the need for one of the best.

FLAW: While there is peace between Starfleet and the Martian Legion. He dislikes the prospects of working besides them and often makes slights against them or feels like their slighting him. No matter who it was it just feels wrong to him.
